  1. Jenetta I absolutely love the first one. From the color to the unique neckline. The second one is aslo gorgeous I just tend to stay away from halter tops because they um dont do anything for my lack of a chest. I'm definitly voting for the first one. Where did you find it?
  2. Sarah, I love your dress. If the straps were spaghetti I'd wear it for my wedding dress. You look very nice in it and I'm sure after you get it altered it will look even better.
  3. We choose the Occidental Grand Xcaret. 1. because of the reviews (really good resort reviews) 2. because of the prices (very affordable for our guests) 3. because of the location (10 minutes from the center of Playa Del Carmen) The only bad thing about this resort is that there is just not a whole heck of a lot of info floating on the web. Also the WC, Edith, is not very good at replying back to you untill your wedding date is 6 months or sooner, I have heard from 3 brides that have been married there that have said to not worry about this and that Edith is wonderfull though. We are going there for a site visit in September. Here is the link if you want to check the resort out! Occidental Grand Xcaret - All Inclusive Resort Riviera Maya, Mexico luxury vacations But as I said before the ones with the resorts with the most wedding information and the best wedding reviews are definitly the ones I mentioned before.
  4. Yes, I have been over there and it is a really good site for resources. Just double check when you are using them that their information is up to date. My resort raised some areas of there prices and lowered some areas of their prices and weedingmexico.com doesnt have the updated info yet. But in general I'd say they are good for an easy way to scout info on resorts.
  5. The girls are right. Definitly start researching photographers soon and book asap. Good luck!
  6. Welcome to the forum! If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.
  7. Hello and Welcome! We are also planning a RM wedding for May 2008. The RIU does great weddings. Good luck with everything and let us know if there is anything we can help you with!
  8. Hello and welcome. That sounds very romantic!!!! I am not a Cabo bride but there are so many around here who are sure to help you out as soon as they read your post. In the meantime have you checked out the "wedding" link on the resorts webpage. A lot of the time a vow renewal package is listed under the wedding portion of the web page. Good luck!
  9. Destinationbride33, this is a big concern of mine also. For some reasons many of the resorts will not allow outside photographers. But I am determined even if it means I have to pay for the photographer to spend the night at the resort and be a "guest" therefor they can photograph us. I to am not impressed at all with the resorts photographers. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Stand your ground remind them of how much money you and your guests will be paying to host your wedding there and insist on your photographer shooting your wedding!

Spring of 07 is just too quick to me, summer is so busy (we spend a lot of time at the lake), then fall comes and it is rainy/hurricane season (too much stress for me) and the the holidays are crazy for me at work. So really Spring of 08 seems to make the most sense for us. In May schools gets out and it is low season making it more affordable for everyone to attend. When I told everyone I want a destination wedding I guess that they just expected me to get it done right away. Everyone acts like I have the longest engagement ever... but oh well... it is my wedding. Too much info maybe.... sorry I am a rambler! Yeah, I am so excited to have someone planning a wedding around the same time as us. We will be getting married at the end of May 2008 also in the Playa Del Carmen Area. All the reasons you have listed are dead on with why we have chossen May also. Anything else would be to soon and than if you were to choose Fall you are heading into hurricane season and everyone is also worrying about the holidays.... So May 2008 it is! I have been researching for a couple of months now and have really concentrated on the All Inclusive resorts/locations. If that is the route you are going than I would check out. Dreams Tulum Aventura Palace Resort RIU El Dorado Royale Excellence Riviera (I think they are changing names though) Royal Porto Real These are a few of the resorts with the best reviews and readily available information. There are other great resorts also but not that much wedding info on them.
  11. I definitly dont want one but there has allready been talk about how we should have one from the various relatives. UGH!
  12. I like the little pearls to. It adds a touch of that ocean feel to everything!
  13. thats because here we are all crazy brides to be or newlyweds. I thank god that I found this site because if not I might just have completely driven my friends crazy with all this wedding talk!
  14. I LOVE the style of the first one but the colors of the second one. Yup, I'm no help.
  15. Good luck! Let us know if you need any other help.
  16. Christa those are buetifull. I think adding a touch of color with the earrings is a great idea!
  17. Hello and Congratulations!!!! There are so many great resorts to choose from in the cancun RM area. I am planning a wedding at the Occidental Grand Xcaret resort in Playa Del Carmen Riviera Maya. This is a great location for child friendly weddings. They have a kids club with fantastic reviews. They also have a child friendly beach/lagoon it is man made and does not have the undertoe or crazy waves that the open beach has. They also have the Xcaret park next door to the resort which each guest receives a 1 day pass too (worth around 60.00 bucks or so). This is like a zoo/aquariam/entertainment park, which is wonderfull for both adults and children. The resort is also very large and spread out and they have both fun pools and quiet pools and seem to do a fairly good job at creating a space where adults can enjoy adult time too. The only bad thing about the Occidental Resort is that there isnt a lot of information from past brides on the internet. This does not mean it isnt a good resort its just that its hard to find info! Another great resort is both Dreams Tulum and Cancun. Here are a couple of links that you can check out. Europe

Wow that sounds amazing! I have been to london England, lived in southern France for 6 months and visited Northern Spain. Europe is hands down the most romantic place I have ever visited. There truly is just something in the air over there. I cant wait to hear more about your wedding!
  19. Rebecca I think a list would be great for all the Dreams girls. I'm a big list person. I cant wait to read it!
  20. I got my make-up done for a wedding I was in last year and I think it cost me 50.00 or so. So that seems about right.
  21. Hello and Welcome to the forum! I cant wait to hear about your trip to Aruba! We are getting married in Riviera Maya at the Occidental Grand Xcaret! I've heard such great things about Aruba, I'm sure you will have a great time!
  22. Good question Ann! I need to know this too. I'm thinking of maybe doing my own makeup also. I would hate to look like a clown on my wedding day.
