  5. No I dont think your missing anything, there are just so many resorts in the RM/Cancun area that not all of them are on the forum yet. I can post their info though.
  6. I think thats what I was doing. You know quick upload browse photos deal right?
  7. Im the same as TammyM and Kash. Centric Venturer
  8. thanks! He just said, better a day early than a day late. Hes right I might have had to kill him if he completely forgot!
  9. I'm not sure what the exact ettiquete is but I say the more stores and the more options for your guests the better. I like being able to go online and shop around when I am buying gifts for people, thats just me though. I would think Sears would have a registery. I would also definitly ask your family members if they could chip in for the Washer and Dryer.

  11. Not everyone goes on site trips, its always a great idea if you can make it happen but its definitly not necassery. Ive never been in December so I cant help you out there, hopefully someone else might be able to.
  12. WTH, I dont get it every time I try and post a picture it says its to big even though I crop the thing to as small as I possibly can? Oh well.
  13. Hell Yah! We arent doing presents this year because of the house. Well kinda, he is paying for me to see the eye doctor and buy some more contacts! And yesterday I went to home goods and bought the cutest lantern for our new deck for only 15 bucks. Its so cute, holds a candle! Hmmm maybe I'll try and take a picture of it with my new camera!
  14. I have no plans.....it is flipping freezing out, I'm doing laundry, playing on the computer and enjoying the day to myself with no sister and no Ryan to bug me for a few hours anyways! I might put my Will & Grace dvd's on and watch a little marathon, yup just me, will, grace, jack, and karen. Yes I'm a dork I love Will & Grace no matter how many times I watch an episode I end up hystarically laughing! So yesturday Ryan got up at 6:00am to drive Megan to the school bus (which is usually my job) I woke up at 7:30 with an ice coffee beside me. Very unusual, so I went into the bathroom (Ryan was getting ready for work) to say thankyou and he yelled "GOOD MORNING BIRTHDAY GIRL!", and handed my a card. heheheheh, I said "Oh thank you hunny but my birthday is tomorrow". lol. I couldnt stop laughing and the best part is he had to do it all over again this morning! I'm just excited because I got to sleep in 2 days in a row! Men....they really do try but their so clueless

Why do you consider Dreams Cancun to be the 'safer' choice?? Just curious. How do prices for Dreams, Grand XCaret, Grand Palladium and Moons compare?? I feel like I'm making progress!!! But maybe it's an illusion. Maybe safer was not the best word. more Self Reassuring is probably a better term. The reason it that there is more information and more reviews and more brides out there that say Dreams Cancun is a wonderful place to get married. That doesn't mean that the OGX isn't though. Dreams resorts in general just from this forum alone have such a great reputation. The good news is that I haven't read a BAD review on weddings at the OGX I just haven't read more than a handful of good reviews either. As far as prices go, don't quote me on any of this, I haven't looked into the pricing since I was trying to decide on a resort which was a couple months ago. I'm pretty sure OGX is the least expensive out of the four resorts you mentioned than probably Dreams and than the other two. BUT you also have to look at the wedding packages that each resort offers because Dreams offers a free wedding as long as you book one room for 6 or 7 nights I think, whereas OGX offers a free wedding as long as you book 10 higher end rooms for at least 4 nights I believe. Counting on at least 10 of our guests booking more expensive rooms for at least 4 nights would be really hard for us, so really even though Dreams per room per night might be more expensive at the end of the day with a free wedding it could end up being less expensive if that makes sense. If I were looking into a wedding in Cancun than I would seriously consider Dreams as my top contender. We really feel like the Riviera Maya area is more out style though. And from what I have read about the OGX, the resort is amazing with a river running through the lobby and a real green lush landscape with a variety of different tropical animals roaming around! To me this sounds right up our alley, it really all depends on your own personal style. Hope the rambling helped a little

  17. I have to agree with most the other girls..Keep it really simple, nothing or a little something on the tables will look great!
  18. Or if the complimentary cocktail hour is not in your budget than I would just stick to providing the champagne for the toast.
  19. Is there any way you can do a complimentary cocktail hour and than also provide the champagne for the toast? This is how many of the weddings have been set up that I have been too anyway. That way no one needs to try and keep track of who has had there 2 drinks or the I dont drink so can my wife have 4 drinks etc etc...that could get confusing for the bartenders and staff.
  20. Is there anyway that you can talk more with Bill about this? Maybe try and explain that the happiness of all your guests might outweigh 2 people that dont get along. How many people are attending the wedding? Isnt there a way that your FMIL and FFIL can stay on opposite sides of the area in order for you to have a welcome dinner?

The resort has great reviews from brides and other travellers 6. Food looks amazing, and all meals are a la carte (big plus!) 7. There are tons of stuff to do in the Mayan from great beaches to awesome Mayan ruins! 8. The resort is big enough that our guests can have their own vacation as well as coming to our wedding, but small enough that we can still see everyone whenever we want. Hope this helps? BTW- you do a great job with this stuff Jackie, really helpful! AWWW thanks Weez.
