  1. Hello and welcome!!! I cant wait to hear more.
  2. Hi and welcome!!! I definitly have heard great things and like the looks of Playa Del Carmen best out of the areas in the Riviera Maya. Really it is what your personal preferences are though.
  3. Hi Andrea, really once you have your location (Dreams Cancun is great) booked and your date set, everything else becomes a bit easier. The Dreams Cancun onsite Wedding Cordinator should be able to help you pick everything from flowers to reception location etc.... There are a few Dreams Cancun brides around here that can also help you out. Dont worry to much you have over a year and this forum alone will be of great help to you!
  4. Welcome to the forum! There are a few girls here planning Moon Palace weddings and it sounds like a wonderful place to get married. There are also a lot of great DW photogs, I believe Ann put a link up for them. Good luck, let us know if you have any more questions
  5. We are not paying for our guests either. We will pay for my two younger sisters travel costs but thats it. Our budget is 15k, and hoping to come in under that.

I just hate telling people what they should get me...and the reality is that at 31 there isn't a whole lot that I "need" other than an affordable home to buy! Christa I totally agree! your not a bad bride at all. People just might be so used to these traditional showers that they are now confused as to what yours is all about. Hopefully your MOH, can keep the guests at bay and spread the word that it is more of a fun exscuse to get together and celebrate, rather than a stiff gift giving sit down guu and gah over each present while your MOH sits their and rights everything down. After all the bridal showers I have had to attend I would be jumping up and down in excitement to be invited to yours!
  7. Kelly, we choose Mexico but my cousin did have a Jamaica wedding and said it was phenominal, I wish I could remember what resort.
  8. found this review on tripadvisor, yipee another good one!!! Just returned from our wedding vacation @ Xcaret and had an amazing time! We arrived on a Monday and were married Friday, with most of our 42 guests arriving Wednesday. Everyone was very happy with the resort. My mother & stepdad have been to the Mayan Riviera 6 times before this trip & both agree this was the best resort they have stayed at. Our wedding was truly incredible! The wedding location is breathtaking & we then had a private reception in the beach club area. Edith the wedding coordinator was outstanding. I tried asking her questions the months leading up to the wedding, but I then realized they really plan all the details the week or so before. She had every detail perfect, from the flowers to the ceremony music. Just remember, she deals with 5-7 weddings a week during a busy period, so if she does not seem responsive to emails in the early planning stages, don't worry! She wraps everything up in just a couple of days! I also highly recommend Cancun Studios, their onsight photographer was awesome! A couple of negatives that were very minor overall & maybe these tips will help you. Food was average at best, kind of what we expected being it was all inclusive. Reservation restaurants were slightly better, but as mentioned before it was very difficult to get reservations & the restaurants were never full. All we ever had to do was tip the maitre d though & you got a table right away, no reservation. Last negative, time share pushers. We did not get hassled as they knew we were there for our wedding, but a couple of friends got suckered in, so just say No! Overall, our entire group had a great experience at this resort! Also, all the water at this resort is filtered except the water in the rooms bathrooms, so we were fine drinking water in the resturants & drank many frozen drinks! Any stomach ailments guest may pick up I think are probably due to sauces or salad dressings that may be left out a considerable amount of time, so just be selective in what you choose! Remember, a vacation is often what you make of it. If you're looking for a problem, you can usually find it. Just relax & enjoy!

Hello and welcome, let us know if you need any help!!!
  10. Welcome Sabrina, I havent looked much into the Barcelo as far as weddings go but have heard some good things from a friend who has stayed there. A couple other resorts around the same price range would be... Iberostar resorts Occidental resorts Like the girls have said I think once you have your resort booked than everything else becomes a little easier.
  11. Congratulations Ali, looks like you had a wonderful wedding day. Love the pics
  12. Welcome amy, Yes Destination Wedding photographers are expensive but in my opinion well worth it. However, I am not a PV expert but do know that in the Riviera Maya/Cancun area there are photogs out there that you could get for close to a 1000.00 . Granted I dont think their work is nearly as good as the more photojournalistic style DW photogs but if you are really set on sticking to your budget than it may be possible. I would even contact Dreams PV and ask who they usually use for photogs... Do a little digging and you may find one in your budget.
  13. It definitly doesnt sound like its to late. I can definitly understand the feeling of needing to get them out ASAP, but like Christa said a week or two or even three's difference probably wont be a big deal. Ecspecially if you have allready done STD's. People know they are coming its not like it will be a big surprise.
  14. Welcome and Congratulations, cant wait to hear more. Dreams Cancun is such a great location. There are a few brides to be here that are getting married there also so I'm sure you will find all the help you need
  15. Glenda thats a real cute idea. I think as long as you keep it classy it will turn out wonderfull.
  16. Elizabeth looks amazing and I'm sure you wont be dissapointed!!!! Congrats
  17. congratulations your pictures look amazing!!! Thanks for the great review.
  18. OK my vote is in!!! I cant wait to see who gets it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a certain someone though
  19. I would figure out a way to bring your ring whether someone has to hold on to them or you put them in a safe or other secure spot. It would be a shame not to have them for your wedding day.

    EDR in April

Welcome Amy, congratulations on your EDR wedding....I cant wait to hear more about it. Like the other girls have said, dont stress to much about the response time from the WC although it can be frustrating its pretty normal in the DW world.
