But lots of people who didn't attend gave gifts, either at my shower or just sent us something in the mail. And we got a little bit of money. We also got lots of gift cards. Although I was prepared for smaller wedding = less gifts, i don't think this was the case. Perhaps this is because we invited 150 ppl and 55 people came? Thanks Janet. I didn't want to have to worry about traveling with additional items, but it sounds like that wasn't a problem for you. BTW - I love your pictures!
  2. Let me start by saying that I'm not expecting to receive gifts, especially from the people who are actually traveling with us, but I know a few relatives and close friends will still send something. So, I was wondering how many gifts did you married gals actually receive? Was it from traveling guests or when you had your at home reception? Was it actual gifts or money? Just curious.
  3. I'm in. I'm in. I'm really looking forward to it. I think it will be a little nerve wrecking at first, but we'll all loosen up. I'm just trying to think of what to wear now. I think I'm going to give it to him the morning or night before the wedding.
  4. Rebecca, your pictures are soooo beautiful! I loved everything. What type of flowers did you have? What florist did you use? Did you show them a picture of what you wanted beforehand?
  5. I'm going part time and it's a struggle. However, this is my last quarter! Yay! I started in '04 taking 2 classes per quarter. I'm so glad I'm down to my last class. This wedding is consuming so much of my life right now I know I couldn't focus on another class (it's hard enough with just the one). I am so excited about this picture! My fiance played college basketball and loves to see me in his old jerseys, so I was thinking of using that, with some cute boyshorts and red pumps. Although he also likes lingerie. Do you all remember that episode of Desperate Housewives when Gabrielle thought that Carlos had some money and flirted with him? He likes the lingerie that she had on. I don't know. At least we have a few weeks to get ready...
  6. Thank you. Yes - those came from SwellSweets.com - Unique Custom Welcome Gifts. I just told them ideas I had and how much money I wanted to spend ($10) and they created those. I think I may mix and match some of the items in each though.

I can't help myself this wedding stuff is soo addictive! Hopefully, I talked to you soon. Have a good one! I'm also a student at DePaul's MBA program. What's your concentration? I'm doing a double concentration in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.
  9. WOW. I see I've missed alot this weekend. Anyway, I live in Chicago and am interested as well. I will email Leigh and see if anything is still available. I don't have a clue as to what I should wear, but I can't wait. It's going to be so much fun!
  10. We are staying at Moon Palace, but most guests are staying in the hotel zone. We're also trying to plan activities so that we can see them more than the day of wedding. Ideally, I would have loved for everyone to stay at the same place because they charge for a guest pass since MP is an all-inclusive.
  11. Glenda you are too funny! You are more than welcome to come to my wedding.

  14. Has anyone ever used SwellSweets.com - Unique Custom Welcome Gifts I'm not creative at all and am wondering if it would be easier to just have someone else do it for me.

How many guests did you have? Was it per person or per couple?
  16. Welcome to the forum! I'm also a Chicagoan. Let us know how we can help.
  17. Hi, I'm trying to decide if we can afford to do out of town bags and wanted to know about how much per person have you or will you spend on each guest? Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  18. I love those parasols. But I agree, they do seem to be expensive. Since we're getting married in a gazebo, our guests will be covered from the sun and don't really need them. They're just so cute that I want them!
  19. Welcome to the forum! I wanted to just read first too, but you really get more out of it the more you put in. Nevertheless, there's so much info on here, you shouldn't have a problem finding things that will help with your planning. Have you narrowed your location search down? Let us know how we can help.
  20. How exciting! Welcome to the site. Let us know how everything turns out.
