  1. I am frustrated with my DIY save the date maps!!!! I made a map to go in with my save the date magnets. I made the map through power point because it has a lot of drawing tools, fonts, and it makes it easy to place objects. Now I am having the hardest time formating to the right size! First I think the cardstock I bought is too big...12X12 because that won't fit in my printer (duh, luckily I bought just 4 pieces for a test run). I thought about cutting the paper down...but then I will have to be doing a lot of cutting. My save the date magents are VERY small, and so I am going to buy fairly small envelopes, and I can't seem to format using power point to the right size.... Any advice on this before I completely lose it

I just got back from a wedding in Maine that did something similar...they set up a little photo booth area, but the difference was that the camera was on a tripod and they had a cord that stretched to the photo area so all you had to do was step on the end and the picture would take. It was great because you could take the picture yourself...no one had to be behind the camera the whole time...at first it was mostly couples going over and taking picture together but as the night went on everyone got a little more drunk and goofy, it made for some really funny pictures!
  3. Your welcome! Kenny G actually has a lot of songs that would be really pretty...I was just checkin it out on You Tube!

  5. I would LOVE to have a copy of your spreadsheet....we are going for a site visit on THURSDAY!!!! (YEA!!!!) It sounds like the spreadsheet would be a great tool for negotiations, that is so cool that natasha got the resort to take of $100/night! Please send me one! THANKS!!!
  6. I have to agree with nina bride... i like the neutal-ness of the citron....i think the other three together reminds me of easter eggs , pretty colors but a bit too much going on for my taste... I think the citron is a good compliment for the pink and blue
  7. I was cleaning out the closet yesterday and found my old 8 min abs, buns, arms, legs video! I did it yesterday and my bum is sooo sore today!!! I don't remember it being so hard! Plus, it is very entertaining b/c it was made in the 90's and the unitards that the main guy always wears are sooo funny!
  8. Welcome! I am fairly new to the wedding planning...and I'll tell you now...this site has become very addictive!!! I am making my first site visit in May, I will bring back pics and reviews, so be sure to check them out..maybe it will help!

  10. I am a little worried about my hair. We are thinking of having a beach ceremony..and the wind worries me a bit. For those that have been married on the beach... how did your hair hold up?

Like: size, all-inclusive or not, budget, etc So best bet sounds like to call down to the venues before hand and set up some appointments with the wedding coords at the hotels... I was really wanting to have the wedding at one of the Pedregal villas, but that is looking less and less probable (due to cost, etc). We are thinking RIU...went and saw a few others in Nov: hilton, melia, one and only, dreams, riu (but we were only there for a day so it was pretty rushed, didn't really get to talk to anyone, just grabbed a brochure at each place). Just loved RIU immediately, it is so dramatic...and my FI family will like that it is all inclusive. BTW, Your wedding looked absolutely gorgeous

I have heard a lot about Maye on this site..so she must be good..but prob also very busy from the sounds of it!
  13. I am in the same boat! Heading down to Cabo in May for initial site visit... we're thinkin RIU..I have many of the same questions as you do..so any info from other brides would be soo helpful!!
  14. Just sort of started the wedding planning process...going to Cabo in May for a scouting trip...probably the only one we will get to take. Need to: 1) Pick a place 2) Pick a date (probably will depend on the availability of the resort) 3) Do everything else I was just wondering if it is important to have a wedding coord picked out for our scouting trip in order to show us around? Or if it is okay for us to try it alone. Just asking for opinions about what wedding coordinator you used/are using (if anyone). Who were you happy with? Who we should stear clear of? What sort of dollar amount I am looking at...both initally, and then for the actual wedding... Any info you have is GREATLY appreciated!
  15. Last facial I had, I was told that the wrinkles on my fore head were not from age but because my skin was dehydated. She said that if I start drinking more water that they would become less noticable...I'm working on it, I just hate having to constantly going to the bathroom!!!
  16. wow those are the best instructions I have ever seen....talk about step by step...I feel like even I can do this now...
  17. I love your new dress! It is similar to the dress I want. It is so classy and elegant
  18. That's a good point, I didn't see that you were getting married in August... But it is pretty hot in August...and prob pretty humid too. Ivpbride...you said that August is hurricane season...any one know what other months are considered hurricane season??
  19. This is what I LOVE about Cabo...the humidity is not bad. It is comprable to Arizona...which is a very DRY heat. There is of course a bit of humidity because it is near the ocean, but the humidity is relatively low. Cabo is desert landscape...not the thick jungles that you find in Cancun, Puerta Vallarta, Hawaii, etc. Trust me this was abig concern for me, as I have natural VERY curly hair!
  20. I had also very much want/wanted to have a wedding in one of the many beautiful Pedregal villas. I emailed back and forth with a rep from cabovillas.com, I found the same info as the rest of you... some villas allow weddings and others do not, it is obviously very expensive, but also so dramatic and beautiful. We were also having a hard time figuring out who would stay in the villa, and who would be at a nearby hotel. I don't know if I necessarily want THAT much togetherness with my family. Anyways, I went down to cabo in November but the only way to go to see the villas was to put down a large deposit that is only refundable if you end up renting a villa. Does any one know of any other way to see the villas without having to pay this charge? I am going down to Cabo in May and I would love to be able to see the vilas, and try to determine if have a wedding there is even a poossibility for us.

    hello

Welcome to the forum..I am also somewhat new to the forum. hope you don't feel as overwhelmed as I did (do) when I first began navigating the site Everyone is SOOO helpful. I think this is going to make my plannig 100% easier~~
  22. We choose cabo b/c we love the beach and the sun...I don't think either of us could picture our wedding any place other than a beach!~ It is very "Us". We love to travel and we definetly know how to soak up some sun. We decided on Cabo just a few days after we got engaged, (although I haven't even been there yet, most of my family has and loved it)! Also, I would rather have a smaller intimate wedding; rather than having to spend the day with great Aunt's whom I have never met. Plus, we just see it as an excuse for everyone to go on vaca.

    Cabo Bride!

Napa is a beautiful place. He proposed to me at our resort The Carneros Inn, on the hill overlooking mountains and vineyards~ He did good I am so happy to hear there are others with "distant" wedding dates! But I am sure the time will fly!

    Cabo Bride!

Hi all, I was on the cabo wedding forum, but never got around to introducing myself! My name is Meaghan, I got engaged in August in Napa, Ca. We live in Phoenix and we knew we wanted to do a destination wedding. Originally it was a toss up between Napa and Cabo...but the more we looked into Cabo (largely due to the cabo wedding forum) the easier our decision became. Our preliminary date is set for Spring 08 (It seems so far away~ especially b/c I think I have already tried on about 30 dresses! But we don't want to feel to rushed or stressed, and we are in the middle of building a new house so we decided better to have a longer engagement. As far as wedding location we are still not totally sure, we are taking a trip down to Cabo w/i the next few months to try and figure that out. We have been researching and leaning towards a villa in Pedregal!
