OMG Jill that fall would send me home too!! LOL Glad you're ok at least! Your plan sounds perfect and there's nothing wrong with doing week 4 twice.. vacation is about rest and relaxation!
-
You girls are doing so great!!! I did 2.1 Friday night and it was rough. But i screwed up too and I forgot that after my last workout I was scrolling through the later weeks to see the outlines.... so I did my warm up, and started running, and i felt like it was forever so i looked down and there were 27 minutes remaining.. yup i started week 9 ooops. So I kinda tired myself out from the get-go. Then I had a busy weekend and it's been a monsoon here so I havent dont anything since. I think I'm going to repeat 2.1 tomorrow night and go from there. I hope the 4 days off didn't derail me!

Very cool quiz Cassie! Maltese was one of my results which was what I have... but I guess having a dog already maybe makes you subconsciously answer the questions to how your dog is!
-
Yeah I could never take Daisy running either. She's the same as Sugar Car- she'll run super fast for like a minute then shes climbing up my leg to be picked up! LOL

You just have to work up to it That's a much better way of looking at it.. building up not cheating! Thanks Ana! You're the best fitness cheerleader!! It will also let you manual input any information from workouts you've done indoors like treadmill or elliptical. This is a great idea! I wonder if it will work at the same time as the C25K app?? I won't be able to use it because I have the itouch not an iphone but it's a great idea for the other girls to track distance too!

Thats awesome Carly- and its comforting to know you were the same when you started!! I'll have to search out the apps later and maybe try some too.
-
I've got to try these pushups, squats, crunches you speak of... those were apps too right? I won't lie. I cant do a single pushup without the cheating kind where my knees are on the floor. Sad but true. I really have no upper body stregnth.

I agree with the other girls- running is SO much better and easier for me outside. It's like you are going somewhere, seeing trees, people, etc. I too end up just staring at the clock alot on the treadmill and elliptical. Did you try it again last night Car?? You're doing great Jill!! I'm a little scared to get to week 3 but it seems like the trend is that the 1st of the new week is hard and then the next two are easier.... so we'll see! I did day three of week one last night and felt GREAT! Don't get me wrong I still had moments of ugh! but overall it was way easier and I even felt like I wanted to do more. We did add one extra running interval and walked about 10 more minutes home after finishing. I'm exciting to start week 2.. hopefully either tomorrow night or Saturday but we'll see if the weather and my schedule cooperate!!

Aww thanks for bumping Trish!! I don't think I was around much around this time and never read it!! I am literally all teary eyed at my desk now. You are one lucky gal and totally deserve it!!

I had to take like a 1 minute break halfway thru, and I found that by the end there wasn't much of a difference between my running and walking. When I would notice that, I tried to push myself, but dayum I am OUT of shape. I'd have thought it would be a bit easier since I've been working out for 2 months! So I'm also wondering how accurate my elliptical is. It said I did just under 6 miles in 30 minutes and my walking speed averaged about 12/mph and my running averaged about 18/mph. The slowest walk number that I noticed was 10 and the highest running one was 20. I'm thinking my machine isn't working right or something b/c I don't know enough to say anything about the speeds, but almost 6 miles seems like alot for 30 minutes. What do you guys think? It's an old machine I bought off craigslist, so I'd just like to know if those numbers seem about right or not, b/c if not, I'll just ignore them. Not sure about the calculations and such but I almost died on Day 1 too! Honest to god day 2 felt WAY easier for some reason so keep at it Car!!! I'm doing week 1 day 3 tonight so fingers crossed!

I did day 2 on Sunday and I'm so glad! It felt way easier than the first day and that was encouraging!!

I started yesterday!! I'm not going to lie it was rough. I'm in such horrible shape and being a smoker my lungs were not happy with me!! However, I made it through. I'm a little sore today but it feels good. I wasn't going to do two days in a row but my BFF wants to start today and its supposed to rain tomorrow and Tuesday so I'm going to push and do day 2 today!! Keeping going girls you're all doing great!!
-
Congrats girls!! Both well deserved!!

Oh fun! I'm going to check it out tonight!

I haven't started yet either.. partially because of the snow and partially because I'm just so freakin lazy! I need to get motivated!!!!!!! I'm excited for you to get started with this!!!! and Erika you too It sounds like an awesome program. Its hard sometimes to get outside and run, esp with the snow (its always snowing here). But I just tell myself that it builds character and get out there and just do it. I never regret it either. Thanks for the words of inspiration Ana!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Erika J Thanks Ana! Erika- I feel like the repiratory is going to be my biggest feat too. I swear I get winded going up the stairs! So embarassing! I wonder how that works though if you need to be wifi connected to run it or just to dl it?? I'm so not app savy!

Thats GREAT! Good for him!! Tell him to send some my way because I embarassingly have none I'm hoping even starting the running will make me want to quit more if I don't before hand. I'm really excited about it and so glad you're doing it too so we can compare notes! Maybe one day we can even sign up for a 5k together since we're close!!!
-
Yeah i feel like constantly checking a watch would be distracting so I wasn't sure! I'll prob just pick up a cheap digital one at walmart or something... YAYYY for Matt!! Did he use anything or just good ol willpower?
-
Carly its SO funny that you posted this. My best friend and I just decided that we were going to quit smoking (more for me as she 98% quit already) and start running. I've never been able to run in my life between smoking, being out of shape, etc so it will be a great challenge and possible accomplishment for me. I can't even run for the train without getting out of breath! haha. So your 5 minutes is great work Trisha!!! So I was googling and printed out this same plan just the other day. I unfortunately decided to take a nice fall down the stairs the next day though (trying not to take it as an omen LOL) so my foot is all bruised... but I plan to start next weekend or so when it's healed up. Let me know how it goes when you start! I was wondering though- how are u going to time things? I need to get like a digital watch or stop watch or something

I've gotten it done many times at Jadwig European Skin Care in Cedar Grove, NJ... though I'm sure there's some place closer for you if you are in the city.
