  1. I was looking at the HILton menu again, and notices 10% tax AND 15% service charge. Tax is high, but what is the service charge. Is this supposed to be gratuity? IT'S A 25% HIKE! OK, so Gavin was unemployed until recently for 5 months. In October I asked Emeline about 2 complimentary nights in APril for tasting. This was after the agreement was signed and sent back, which stated nothing about a room block. We had already gone back and forth about this and it was decided that I would not be blocking rooms. So, anyway she said that I could have the 2 nights in April and she told me what date was good. We did not book the flight right away b/c of the financial situation. Well, he is working now and we were going to book the flight. I sent an e-mail to double-check the chef was still available and now it seems I can't have the 2 nights b/c I didn't block the rooms. HELLO! I sent her the e-mail she originally offered it in from October. She came back and still said I can't have them. I'm so confused. I realize that I am not the only wedding that vendors are dealing with, but this is the 3rd person that has completely forgot, and did not bother to note the details that were already agreed on. Has anyone else found themselves talking to people that are not fully paying attention? Sorry, just pissed off a bit.
  2. I have a question about the final menu selections. I want to start designing my invitations and am wondering about the food. I would like to give my guests options for their plated dinner; not everyone likes fish or steak and some people only eat chicken. Anyway, so any of you ladies know if this count is something Emeline will want with the final count or can the guests decide day of during the cocktail hour or something? Thanks.
  3. That's hilarious! I say you do it! It could be a TV show.
  4. Love the FIrm. I bought it about 5 years ago (maybe more). Then I bought the newer versio about a year ago. The newer version was difficult the first couple of times, becasue of the moves. Once you are past that, it is a very good workout. I brokedown and bought Cardio Jam. Seems like a scam to me, but I love it. Fun, long, good and I feel it the next day. Tae Bo is always a good bet. Good luck.
  5. It's been awhile. I thought we could touch base. Anyone decided on food, music, etc in the past 6 weeks? I was going to go with Sergio (photographer), who the Hilton recommends, but he is booked. I don't know if I am going to be able to go down for a tasting which makes me really nervous. How do I plan the rest without seeing the space or tasting the food?
  6. I usually use the 35 points for the weekend. I know that I will be eating out at some point and probably having a few drinks. I think they are to make life easier. Not many people eat exactly the same amount of food EVERY SINGLE day. Everyone is allowed a few margaritas, right?!

This is very good to know. I don't want cake and just sent a messag to Emeline about other options for dessert.
  8. I know that this has been asked several times, but how do you get a hold of these people? I really want to figure out what I am doing with my tables. THanks
  9. OUr wedding is at the HIlton. Only a hanful are staying there. THe rest are all over the place. I didn't feel comfortable tellling people what to pay.
  10. I opened my gift! I've had it for awhile, but have been very good Thanks so much TammyM. I received a beautiful, furry, cream throw from Pier One. Very cuddly. Thanks again!

I got ... a very cool picture frame (now I will have to find a good picture of Paul & I) tall, wine-glass like candle holders - they're awesome! a handful of candles I can't wait to get them all setup! After sitting in the airport all day, it was such a treat to come home to. Thanks again! I'm glad you liked everything. Sorry the packing wasn't too pretty. I was more worried about the candle holders getting to you in one piece. Merry Christmas!
  12. Great idea! I like the beach chairs. How are you having them done?
  13. I was going to do large red daises and large orange daisies in small vases.
  14. Wow. That's a great price for PB Rose.

  16. I can only see the junior suite. What is the executive suite?

If you really would enjoy having Christmas at your house, don't let her take it away from you. Can't she go by her sister or something that day? I'm assuming your mother doesn't want to talk to her.

We drove a Dodge Verna (never seen this type of car before in my life!) for 7 days for $92.75 USD. Let me know if you have any more questions! WOW! That's cheap. THanks so much.
