  1. hahaha - you have to just let it go. if you try to explain later you will just look more bonkers because you KNOW you'll never be able to explain it correctly. that is too funny!! I was walking down the street with my DH and I saw his friend coming towards us across the street. It was a narrow, neighborhood side street - so no cars driving and not far away from each other. I yelled "Josh!" and starting doing a big over the head arm wave. Yeah...it was SO not Josh. Now everytime we see a guy that looks remotely like Josh DH always whisper-yells his name and starts waving.
  2. Also, don't forget that at the reception you might be doing a lot of bending over. (Eg. When you bend to talk to people at their table during dinner) I like the idea of adding something to the V if you are even questioning how comfy you may be.
  3. How many days is going to be there with his boys? If it's only a few days where they are all there I say let him go. If they have a whole week together, maybe they can pick another day. My DH spent the entire day before the wedding trying to get over the worst hangover ever and even he made it on time with no problems. You should be fine no matter what.
  4. Has she ever traveled before? It sounds like she hasn't done much traveling and is trying to do everything at once. I think you can tell her "I recognize this is a vacation for you and I want you to do whatever you want. Go on a booze cruise, to the falls, etc. You need to recognize that this is also my wedding and a vacation for other people and I can't rope myself or others into obligations right now. We will know more when we get there."
  5. If you look through this thread you will see most people's dresses. I know some people have gotten BM dresses for their wedding dress - much cheaper! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t85
  6. The only way to get accurate answers to these questions is to call the airline. Every airline is different and their rules change a lot. Just call your airline.
  7. I brought my 2 bm's to the trial. It was no problem and they were very welcome.
  8. Hey Connie - it's Kate. Can't wait to hear how the tasting went! Let me know if I can help with anything!
  9. Do you have any blazers at all? I work in a courthouse and we can get away with mismatched separates eg. grey pants/black blazer. If you don't have any blazers, what about a sweater set?

I don't know....to each their own I guess. Yeah - the tape is a bad idea. It just rips the diaper so they are totally useless. I like how rolled look better too. It does take a lot of playing with the diapers to get them to a normal shape the way I do it.
  11. It looks super cute. I make diaper cakes for showers too - they are so easy. One tip (not for this time because your cake is already built): Rather than rolling each diaper and tying it, just line the diapers up and kinda form them into a circle. I use 1/4 inch elastic and tie it around the outside of each layer. They you can sort of play with it until you get the shape you want. You get more diapers in the cake and the person who gets it doesn't have to untie each diaper to use them. Here is an example because my instructions suck. 12. That's a super cute story!! I'm a prosecutor too. I'll have to tell my single work friends to keep a better eye out at conventions!
  13. I think that would work for 30, but 60 would be too much. I've been to weddings with 80 guests where they did that and it is hard because you end up sitting with people you don't know. With 30, good odds everyone knows each other - especially bc at a DW they've had time to meet. With 60, that might be pushing it.
  14. If you type "personalized beach towel" in the search box at the top you will get quite a few results for people who have already found some.
  15. I did this for a few of my guests. All I did was email them individually, ask if they wanted to share, then if they said yes give each other their emails. They are adults I'm assuming. You don't have to hand hold them through each step. Just introduce them and let them take it from there.
  16. You just sign your legal name on the marriage documents. You don't change your name first -that comes after the wedding at any point. I am not changing my name and we've been married for over a year. There is no need to change yours until after your DW.
  17. I have been eating peanut M&M's like crazy!
  18. I did a trial for both hair and makeup. I needed it, but that's only because I am bad at explaining what I want and I don't know what makeup really looks good on me. I was glad I did because it gave me time to think about what I wanted done differently for the actual wedding -and they did it perfectly.
  19. My husband has psoriasis and he uses a topical steroid cream when it flares up. Unfortunately there are no OTC things that he finds work.
  20. Mine has a man crush on Clive Owen. Nice to know we'd both do him.
  21. I would totally plan everyone's wedding if I could - I liked it and didn't really get burnt out. Planning for this baby in my belly though? Can someone do it all for me? It was easy for me to make a decision about wedding stuff because DH and I were the only ones who would really be affected. Baby decisions though UGH!!! I'm convinced I'm going to pick the wrong everything and the kid will be a mess.
  22. This is the greatest thread ever. I'm still stuck on the murder mystery drama club from page 1. WTF
  23. I don't know if this trick works for cats, but it's what we do for our dogs. If you feed her the smaller portions try putting something in the bowl on top of her food. For our dogs we use an unopened soup can - maybe something smaller for a cat bowl. This makes them slow down while eating because they have to work to move the can around to get to the food.
