  1. I want you to try on my #1 dress because I think you'd love it. Fitted, flared, quite a bit saucy. I think you'd like it.
  2. I'm sort of waiting to buy small stuff - OOT bags, menu cards, etc - until the end when I know how many people are coming. I'm spending $$ now on the deposits, dress, photographer, etc. I'm also saving the balance I owe the big vendors so I have it when the time comes. For example, before I booked the photog and put down a deposit I made sure I had the full amount. I'm a bad budgeter so this way I don't get in over my head.

  4. I just got back from 3 days of snowboarding. My body is so sore there is no way I can go to the gym tomorrow. You'd think 3 days of activity would count as exercise - but not really when you eat a ton and drink beer all night. Sad.
  5. Welcome!! (I just emailed you that stuff you asked for.)
  6. We are paying for my parents and FI's parents' rooms for 2 nights and for the 2 members of the bridal party for 2 nights. $5,000 for all travel, attire, rings, wedding is a bit low. How many guests are you thinking?
  7. I'm off to Whistler for 3 days of snowboarding so no gym for me. But trust me, I'll be plenty sore!
  8. Somehow I missed this thread and I'm so sad about that! Glenda- You are such a fab freak and I love it! ( I mean that in the nicest way. ) It makes me happy to know other people play the "What if I...?" game. And you can totally come hang out at my wedding. You can even sit w FI and I at our sweetheart table.
  9. We are sending both to everyone. We worked really hard to get the guestlist down to the bare minimums. Every single person on our list is someone I hope comes. We for sure pissed some people off, but I would rather have them pissed now than right before the wedding when they don't get an invite. I don't think there are any rules on this though, so I say do what you want - it's a dw where there are no rules!
  10. I'm going to break from the crowd a little on this one... I totally think you should use the colors for your wedding. The blue will look great with the beach and if it's your fav I say go with it. Love it! The only thing I might hesitate on is actually using Tiffanys as the theme, like with the boxes and stuff. I think the beach and the DW element is enough of a theme. Having both might make it seem a little muddled. If you were having a regular NY wedding I'd say do it. With the beach/DW I'd use the colors but pick a natural theme like starfish, palm trees, etc.
  11. That's a good reason to get married after the wedding...you aren't a family unit yet so you can declare stuff individually and pass bgs through that way.
  12. I did 30 minutes on level 4 of the stairstepper. Never sweat so much in my life! Literally dripping - it was super hot. I'm leaving for snowboarding in Whistler for the rest of the week so that will be plenty of exercise for me!!
  13. The Rockhouse Hotel - a small, secluded hotel in Negril, Jamaica I wanted to have our wedding here when I was considering Jamaica. It's in Negril. No beach (it's on the cliffs) but it looks fab and its SO cheap.
  14. Congrats! Picking the place is a hard/nones of fun decision. Everything from here on out is a lot easier. You are going to have a great day!
  15. You have to put down a per room deposit. As rooms are booked by your guests that deposit money is then used for other things, like your own stay or the stay of others you may want to pay for. If you have deposit money left over before the wedding they give the remaining $$ back to you.
  16. Here's what I can offer for the step by step part. This is sort of what I've done so far. 1. Book resort and room block. This includes picking your date and location (obviously). 2. Book photographer. 3. Figure out wedding planner - if you are having one, using only resort planner, etc. 4. Book DJ. 5. Book other entertainment. - Firedancers/fireworks/mariachi/etc. 6. Look for dresses. That's how far I've gotten so far. As for the AI fees, there is a setup fee for each element (ceremony, reception). At least in Cabo, this setup fee is cheaper than you can get per person rates for at non-AIs.

  20. I'm late to this but here goes... #1 I hate this girl already. Who does that? #2 I think you should tell her that bc you are having a DW you are "resetting" the bridal party. Then ask who you want to ask and leave her out. #3 If she says ANYTHING about why she's not in it say "it probably has to do with the fact you like to lie about the groom. real friends don't do that."
  21. PM me your email and I'll forward you what she sent me. Meagan used her and loved her so I was considering it.
