  1. This is sad...but just for now. You are making the right decision for you both to have the wedding you want - starting your life off right. Let us know how we can help.
  2. No one deserves it more. You have been through so much - more than most people deal with in a lifetime. (And I'm glad we finally get to know what Christine picked out!)
  3. Thanks ladies! Just when I thought life was clearing up so I could be on here more I got slammed. I have been in trial with a crazy guy for over a week (and yes, it continues on my bday), I had an out of town wedding fri - sun, I found out last week I am being sent to a training in DC and I leave on Sat., I have another conference 11/2 and a week of meth lab training 11/5 - 11/9, and a friend is coming to visit in 2 weeks. By the time this is all over I'm going to be about 3 weeks from the wedding!! I am officially stressed.
  4. I have red patent leather flat sandals for the ceremony and red heels for the reception. I like the heels bc they are super classic and I'll be able to wear my wedding shoes for the rest of my life.
  5. Congrats!! I love all the mommies we have!
  6. FI works at MS. Amazing benefits, free gym membership. It's bliss.
  7. I feel like such an ahole for missing this thread!! Can we just do a donation collection to the BT rescue for the slow kids like me that are behind on posts?
  8. Oh sweet girl I am so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine what you and Reggie are going through. If you need to talk about it we are all here for you. And know that everyone here is thinking about you both in this hard time.
  9. I'd be annoyed too. I mean, I AM the man for god sakes and we don't have to do any of that testing! Yes - it is possible in theory for someone on meth to be in court prosecuting a person for having meth. I declined a job at Alaska Airlines once bc they had a "non-smoking" policy (cigs) and did random pee tests for nicotine. I had quit smoking at that point, but was appalled that they would put that condition on employment.
  10. You guys are kickin' serious booty!!!! WTG! I have been gone and then sick so I'm just back to working out this week. I did 30 minutes on the rowing maching at home yesterday and 45 minutes on the stairstepper today. I am still the same weight which makes me happy bc I haven't worked out. I just need to keep at this weight for 2 months!! My first wedding dress fitting is tomorrow - thank god I have my spanks!
  11. Dear self: - Please start a separate post to explain where I've been (trial/sick/Chicago) for weeks. I mean, you had your bachelorette party and still haven't posted pics. Be a better BDW member. - Plan to meet Christa for drinks again so she doesn't take an ax to her hubby's head. - Be nice to FI tonight. He's sick with the cold you gave him and hates his job. Dear Christa: Get used to the rain. It stays like this until May. Not even joking. Dear criminals: Stop being manipulative little f*@ks, take responsibility for your actions, and deal with the punishment. Also, for those criminals hiding under the guise of addiction to get less time - you are s*@theads. You are a disgrace all the people who actually are afflicted with the disease of addiction. I see you all in the same room every day - one group I respect with all that I am, the other is shameful.
  12. We invited 125 and 56 are coming. For those of you asking about the invitation timing - we sent STDs w our website listed as soon as week booked the time/place. We sent invites out 3 months before the wedding.
  13. I'm so sorry about this! I spend 2 of 5 work days dealing solely with addicts in treatment and your mom fits all the signs of a relapse. The best thing for her (and hardest for you) is to get her into a treatment program. Sounds like you won't be able to get her to do a voluntary inpatient program, but maybe she'll agree to outpatient? If not an intervention might be necessary. This is so hard. She has a disease and it needs to be treated. If you need any info on how the process works let me know and I'll try to find out.
  14. That is such a beautiful dress!!! I can't wait to see you in it.
  15. I'm so sorry. First things first, don't let this cloud the joy of you marrying such a wonderful in man in 2 short months. Many people in the world never even get that in life. Try to remain calm until you get more info. It's not worth getting worked up about yet. And as usual...vent to us whenever you need to.
  16. I got mine at Old Navy too. I got red for guys and blue for girls. My moh went to a dw and the guys got flip flops too. She said he husband wears them all the time - like at the gym. So even if they don't wear them for the reception they wll be used.
  17. I have to second the no barefoot comment. I planned on being barefoot for the ceremony in Cabo. But when we went down for our site visit, my plan quickly changed. The sand hurt my feet because of the texture. Worse than that though was the heat. It was about 3 pm when we were checking out the beach and the wooden walkways and sand were too too too hot to walk on. I was jumping around like a crazy person - not a look I want for the wedding. Just something to keep in mind.
  18. I didn't read the other posts on this but wanted to tell my mom/dress story. I had my dress choice narrowed down by the time my mom came with. There were 2 from one store and 1 from another. When we got to the first store I was just going to show my mom one of the two to save time but my mom was browsing and the only dress she pulled out was my second dress. I had to try it on. I put on the second dress and my mom said beautiful. I then put on my first choice dress and my mom said she liked the first one better. My heart dropped bc I already knew I wanted my first choice one. Showing mom was more of a formality. My dress helper girl knew how I was feeling and suggested I try the other dress on to compare. Thank god! Once I tried the dress on again my mom could see I was right. She told me that she thought that she was so excited to see me in a wedding dress that she fell in love w the first one. That said - she didn't cry or anything. I could tell she liked it, but no water works. And she is a crier too. It threw me at first, but then I got over it. I didn't even cry when I found the dress and I'm a crier.
  19. I went on a run w FI and the dogs on Sat morning. Yesterday I did 50 min on stairclimber and today I did 50 on eliptical. My coworker also convinced me to do a bellydancing class w her on Wed nights We start tomorrow!

  21. I don't remember if I posted this or not...but I am dancing w my dad to Daughter. I always forget who it's by, but it's the song playing inthe closing credits of "knocked up".
  22. That makes me so mad! I was lucky with my wedding dress girl - she was super nice and really honest. But now I'm wondering if she would have been as nice if I was bigger. My baby bro is a big guy so I get super protective when people make him feel bad. Those are totally the feelings I have reading this thread. Who do these people think they are? They aren't out there saving lives or doing any real good - they sell overpriced dresses for god's sakes. They should get over themselves. The world could run just fine without them.
  23. Just finished 50 min on eliptical. I managed to workout 4 days this workweek!! Only 2.5 months left!

We grabbed a dude with a cart and he walked us straight to the xray machine. The guy there asked what was in the boxes and I told him. He also asked how much it was worth - I said $250 and that I had receipts. He didn't even ask to see them, just said ok. We got the green light and busted through.
