Some pics of my Bridal Shower..
Sarah replied to anaderoux's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Anny, that looks like such a fun shower! First of all, you are gorgeous. I love your dress- it is so pretty! I also liked how you and your mom's colors matched. Did you do that on purpose? The decor looked great. You did a beautiful job on the fountain and the favor boxes were a cool idea. Too bad your flower candles didn't show up- can you return them, or are you going to do something with them for the wedding? You said you don't get gifts, you get $$ right? I still think that's the best idea ever. I bet with so many guests you really cleaned up... lol Congrats! -

I wish you were a 7.5 Jessalyn- I love these shoes! They were sold out at Nordstrom when I went to get them. -
HELP! I have 2 dresses....
Sarah replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Sarah it's really hard for me to pick between the two without being able to see the second one on you. I agree with the other girls that the second dress looks more like a DW dress, but my dress looks nothing like a DW dress, and many other girls on here have formal dresses. That being said- wear what you like the best and what makes you feel the most beautiful. I think the first dress looks stunning on you. I never would have guessed what size you wear based on that photo. When was that photo taken? You are looking good- boot camp is working! -
Yay Natalie! You look amazing- awesome shots! I'm so proud of you for doing this, isn't it fun? I think it's such a liberating experience that every woman should do some time in her life. I know Lance will love them. You are gorgeous!!!

See- Cindy does such a great job that even if you don't work out for days (or weeks, months, whatever) you still look FAB! lol Seriously though- you probably did lose a little and once they just take the top in a little if will fit better and the length will be better. The dress is AWESOME, but you make it look even better... See- I can be a cheerleader too!

OK, so Jessalyn's a bad influence- I just went and bought her shoes on ebay. So, might have to edit my earlier thread; we'll see once I get them! lol -

Jessalyn I Love your shoes. I looked at those and almost ordered them (I love endless.com btw) but decided that I'm too cheap in the end. I had to draw the line somewhere. But now seeing them again makes me wish I had gone for it. Darn you! lol The purse is from endless.com too... -

Here are mine: I wanted something with more "bling" but just couldn't find anything in a low enough heel for what I was willing to spend- shoes just aren't that big of a priority for me at this point- I'd rather have an eternity wedding band! lol I think I already posted this elsewhere, but here's my purse. Picture it without the chain... -
Angela and Sarah have given you great advice. I'm also having my reception at Oceana, and I have 16 people. I liked the intimacy of the Oceana Terrace better than any of the other options. My wedding is soon so of course there will be pics soon!

OOT Bags - Super Cheap After-Sun Care

We also found a nice little "First Aid" kit with different size bandages and antibiotic wipes. And some Curad "Spray Bandage".... I bought a can of that just to check it out and I actually like it--- I can feel the layer of spray on my skin and it's nice to not have to wear a bandage! (no clue how effective it really is tho!) Yeah, it was actual banana boat- that's why I was so excited because we really wanted something name brand too! Great find on the bandage stuff! -

I think this is the craziest thing I've ever heard. I wouldn't let it go Melissa- confront her again!

OOT Bags - Super Cheap After-Sun Care
Sarah replied to starchild's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I know, me too. That's why I had bought Coppertone Sport in a 1oz container at Walmart just so I'd have SOMETHING but was crossing my fingers that something good would show up. I've been religiously checking the dollar stores every week and I got there yesterday literally as they were putting it out on the shelf. I bought 12 of the 15 bottles they had! -

I just got huge bottles of Banana Boat sunscreen spf 30 at Dollar Tree yesterday for $1 eash- I was so excited! -
I wouldn't say spaz- you just looked like you were having a great time! I hate it when I watch a bride and groom on video and they look all stuffy and bored- you were livin it up and that's the way it should be. I'm inspired...lol

Have to take issue with the video being overpriced... It cracks me up that nobody thinks twice about paying thousands for a photographer, however they hesitate with the price of the video. Just to let you know - To edit video takes much longer than photos. For every one hour that we are on site at a wedding - I can count on at least 10 hours in editing. Not to mention an extra half a day for artwork and packaging... I just do not want to be undervalued... most brides regret it if they do not have a video.... and I understand that having both a photog and videographer is cost-prohibitive in some cases. Please though - we work really hard after the wedding day, putting our heart and soul into the footage to include the most beautiful parts of your day together in one unforgettable memory package... It is worth the money. (I don't know too many folks who work a 40 hour week for under 1k). I hope I don't sound defensive - it's just that sometimes we video people feel so underappreciated for the amount of work that we do... m Hey Marci- I just watched Natasha's video- it looks AWESOME! I'm so glad you guys are doing my video. Now I just need to scrape up the extra cash to have you edit it!

Natasha- I don't know how I missed this, but your video is awesome! Marci & Enrique did such a great job- what fun memories. You and Chris are just tooooo cute together!

Wedding after thoughts...
Sarah replied to A10CalGal's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
Ok, sappy it might be, but also heartfelt and VERY touching! I'm still wiping a tear (sniff, sniff). It's so good to hear the happiness in your words as you write now from the "other side". Sometimes I get so caught up in the planning of all this that I (just for a second) forget why I'm putting myself through this- to start a life with my true soulmate- and I don't use that word lightly! I'm so glad to hear the triumphs of the week, as well as the lows. It's ok to have a breakdown, and I agree- it was eye opening for you. I'm so glad your DH spent that night with you and reassured you. You needed it. Treasure the first few months as a new wife- it's such a special time. I can't wait until I'm there too! Thanks for sharing your wisdom Christa. I truly value your words and thoughts. -
Custom Coozies/Koozies
Sarah replied to A10CalGal's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I paid $53.35, including shipping for 25 Koozies. Here is the ebay vendor; eBay Store - Discount T-Shirt Company: Short Sleeve, Koozies, Adult Trucker I would have to give a mixed review. I ordered these and won the auction Feb. 11th. I paid that day and submitted my artwork. Apparently I didn't submit my artwork exactly according to the directions, but instead of emailing me to tell me the artwork wouldn't work, they printed them anyway and sent them off. The quality was TERRIBLE. I wrote a letter to the seller, describing my disappointment and the owner responded and stated that my artwork wasn't formatted right and they shouldn't have been printed and sent- it was a mistake (yeah, whatever, ok). He had me resubmit my artwork and come to find out- my monogram I wanted to use had too thin lines and wasn't appropriate for the koozie- this is now the end of March. If they had told me that in the FIRST PLACE I would have chosen something different. They ended up modifying my artwork and now I have received the final product. They look fine now- they also gave me metallic ink this second time around at no charge- but it was quite a hassle getting here! This whole thing was Jeff's idea. I just wanted to order from Kustom Koozie like everyone else on here. He wanted to try to save a buck, and we did- these same Koozies would have been $86 through Kustom Koozie. And, I guess I'm happy with my order in the end. We have double-sided printing, metallic ink and they're cute- it was just a PITA!
