  1. We're doing a day-after trash the dress session with Juan Carlos Tapia. I can't wait! I have a second dress for that session. Actually it's my original wedding dress, but I bought a more formal one for the wedding, so my first dress is now my trash the dress dress. lol did that make sense?
  2. I just realized that I responded to this post, but never nominated. I can't nominate just one- there are sooooooo many of you who deserve this. So, I'm making a top 5 list (sorry, I absolutely can not narrow it down to one for a nomination). Jessalyn- She has helped me out a ton in my shoe search and allowed me to be a copycat. She's always helpful and has awesome DIY invitations! Anny- She is soo creative and sweet and always has something nice to say. Did I mention her DIY projects and decor absolutely rock?!? Glenda- I think if I HAD to pick one it would have to be you. You always have something positive to say, but yet aren't afraid to speak your mind. You kick a$$ girlfriend. And, let's not forget her new moderator title! MexicoMelissa- Her wedding was so fun and full of her personality. Melissa, I always read your posts because they make me laugh. You are so fun! Christa- I love how you maintained your cool throughout the stress of your wedding, your guests, and other family issues. You really have helped me out soo much in terms of invitations, decor, and reminding me to keep things simple. I'm so glad you've stuck around! OK, there are so many others that deserve this. Of course the post-whores Ann & Tammy always deserve to be the member of the month! Christine, Natalie, Natasha, omg I don't know where to stop so I will. I just love you all! Wow, I'm in a really lovey mood today, lol...
  3. oK, gotta brag. Simply because it is sooooo hard for me to lose weight, no matter how much I exercise and how good I eat. I'm just kinda a short stocky girl. I don't have a super petite build like alot of short girls do- I'm more the "athletic" type, without the athletic part! lol Anyway, my biggest issue is my stomach (well, that and my arms, legs, a$$, backfat, etc), and I have an impossible time getting it to go away. So, Jeff & I were getting ready for bed last night and he looked over at me and said WOW- your stomach is so little right now! I laughed at him and told him he was just trying to get something started and went to bed. So, this morning we were laying in bed and he looked over at me and grabbed my belly fat and was like- see, I told you it's smaller, I haven't seen your stomach this flat before! WOOHOO!!! I guess my 4-7 miles a day on the treadmill is finally paying off. That and the 100 crunches and weights I do too. Sorry, just had to put this out there. It's the little victories that keep us going!
  4. Wow! I guess I'm part of the cheap crowd! I normally give approx $75-100 gifts, a little more for good friends. Glenda, this is just one more reason why I want you to crash my wedding. Honey, if you bring $1000 gifts, heck- even $300 gifts!- you can join us anytime, anywhere! lol

  7. Awesome job Sarah! So glad that boot camp is paying off. Keep up the good work!
  8. How did I miss this? Tammy- look at you go girl- Since Fergalicious is my current favorite song, boobalicious is what I will have to call you now. roflmao I love the hair flowers- those turned out awesome!!! Now why didn't you start doing this a couple months ago before I spent $50 on stupid hair flowers?
  9. I HATE it when people wear strapless dresses and are constantly yanking them up. For that reason, I'd at least do what Christa did and ask her to add some elastic.
  10. I won't know for sure until I go for my last fitting tomorrow, but my seamstress altered it very snug last time I was there. I don't even have a ton of breathing room, much less a gap! But, I have very small breasts, so there's not much to hold the dress up.
  11. I'd push her a little and say that you don't want the steakhouse, you want the original restaurant you requested. Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease. It just might be less convenient for them to have it there- but I wouldn't give up on it yet.

  13. That would be fun- when is it? Side note: Jeff's bachelor party is this weekend. omg I don't even want to know what they're doing...

I have searched all over the internet Tammy and can't find any cute rhymes or anything! Why is this so hard? My mind is blank, but I'll keep trying.
  16. Maria, I think the saying is cute. And, if your friends are mostly younger and know your personality I think they'd "get it". My honest opinion: I know that my grandmother would be offended, because of my grandfather's dementia. If you don't have any of that in your family, then it's probably ok- or, since some of your family is so batty that you don't care what they think (I'm thinking of the person- was it an aunt?- that wrote that nasty letter to you guys ahile back), do it anyway... With that said- what type of invites are you doing? Are you having them printed, or are you doing something DIY that you could easily make two different "batches" of invitations. I made two types of invites based on whether or not I thought the people were attending the wedding. You could make one set to send to your friends and family that know and appreciate your personality and the sense of humor you and Frank share. You could send the other set to the distant relatives, and uptight people that you would be worried about adding fuel to the fire! lol

Let me know if you find anything...
  18. Way to go Natalie! You girls are all doing so well. Lisa, you're really devoted too- great job! Kate-you'll become a workout badass too when your wedding is two weeks away! lol And, I can't stop eating comfort food right now since I'm trying to ward off stress. So, I guess the working out is just helping me maintain at this point. I took Wed off because we had so many errands to do and Jeff's dad came over for brunch. But, back to the routine today!
  19. I bought my first dress about two weeks after I got engaged. I got an awesome steal at a resale shop so I had to jump on it. This is now going to be my day after "trash the dress" dress, but I still love it!
  20. Fantastic job Melissa! I love the font choices and the layering of the large "g" with your names. I might make this a little lighter and behind your names. I voted for #4 without looking at the other votes or comments first. I also was going to say (but Amy beat me to it) that I like the font for your names in #3 better. These are so awesome! I can't wait to see how the whole pocketfold turns out. Just remember that whatever fonts and setup you use for this part sets the stage for your other inserts. I'd probably use the script for the headings and the writing in the block lettering. Great choices- soo hard to decide!
  21. You're not a Diva- you're resourceful! It's great when you can come up with a good reason why you need two wedding dresses. Yes, Ann is right- I currently have 2 dresses and 3 pairs of shoes. I am incredibly indecisive. Although, instead of wearing one dress for the wedding and one for the reception, I'm wearing the formal dress for the wedding day and the less formal dress for the "trash the dress" session the day after. Although, if my formal dress gets waaayyyy too hot, I might bust out the informal one during the reception!

I think I'm going to order these pocket folds. They are nice and affordable. I'm going to get the bronze metalic. And make a paper belly (what they call that outer wrap thingy). I got a question for you gals though what did you use for envelopes? i know there are such things as lined envelopes and non-lined (honestly I don't know the difference). Or did you get the regular white envelopes? I just need a little direction on what to do for envelopes... please I bought metallic champagne envelopes for the invitation itself, and metallic crimson envelopes for the RSVP cards. They came from Discount Wedding Invitations, Vellum Paper, Vellum Envelopes, Card Stock Source - Paperandmore.com. They have several different sizes of envelopes, and you can order samples. When you buy the actual envelopes, they come in lots of 50, but they have a great selection of colors and sizes. Just make sure to measure your invites and make your RSVP insert the correct size!

I'm SURE they're already posted somewhere and I just haven't found them yet... At this point it looks like you girls are right- #2 looks like a winner. But, I LOVE #3, so I'm going to take them to my fitting on Fri and see if they'll work...I'll keep ya updated!
