I got Jeff the B-Pics, and was planning a Tag Link Series watch until he changed his mind on his wedding band and ended up with a 7mm Platinum Tacori that was more expensive than the watch I was going to buy...I just didn't have that much money to do both, boohoo...So, I think the new watch will have to be an anniversary present. I bought him a Movado for Christmas 2 years ago tho, so he does have a nice watch.

I love #2, and voted before reading any comments...after going back and reading I do like your revised one too, but I still love the simplicity of #2. It has a traditional vibe to it, which I'm drawn to, but yet is personal. I don't know- as untraditional as a DW is, I like the traditional vows and #2 reminds me of the traditional vows, but 100 times better- does that make sense? Sorry I'm rambling, been up all night- time to go to sleep!

What an amazing deal Nicole- that's awesome! I can't wait to see you in your dress- your day is almost here! Woohoo! -
Guest Attire?
Sarah replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
You're right Lizzy. I also was doing a white/beige wedding and wanted my guests dressed appropriately. In the last line of my invitation insert that included wedding day info, it read "Please consider wearing dressy beach attire in hues of white and khaki". Everyone complied and it looked great! I have a couple snapshots of everyone on the beach in their white/beige/khaki and I LOVE the coordinated look! Side note: We stole Tammy's phrase about the "Tommy Bahama" look being appropriate for men. Well, Jeff's dad took it literally- he thought we meant that ONLY Tommy Bahama clothing was appropriate, and literally went out and bought only TB clothing- too funny! He looked great- just probably spent a little more than he needed to, lol! -

Laura & Juan's Las Caletas Wedding
Sarah replied to laura's topic in Puerto Vallarta Accommodations & Site
Wow Laura- congratulations! Everything looked so beautiful- I love your vibrant colors and your dress looked fab! We are wedding date twins, by the way... -
Very intuitive, wise advice Natasha. I've wondered the same thing myself as I've read Andrea's posts- you're not alone, you're just braver than I! But, that's what this forum is all about- being honest and looking out for eachother. With that said, I endorse and agree with your post, I couldn't have said it better. Andrea, we care about you and just want the best for you- I think it's time for a talk with Erik.
-
Yay Erica! I'm so glad you got the dates you wanted. Yes, I did my engagement pics while I was there for my first site visit last fall. We didn't do a sunset cruise, but went on a glass bottom boat tour- waayyy cheaper and lots of fun! Edyta & I both used this place for horses. Juan arranged it for us: Horseback Riding, Los Cabos, Private Trail Rides, Cabo San Lucas Good luck and have fun!

OK, I can't remember your name to save my life- is it Erika? I could be wrong... Anyway- Congratulations! That's so exciting! Hopefully you'll get the ring soon so you can start planning:) You'll love Dreams, it's so beautiful. Where did you end up finding availability through?
-
Wow Andrea- I'm coming in late to this but I'm glad to see you have a plan in mind now and that you are going to put your foot down. Stick to your guns- this is YOUR wedding! I must have missed out on whatever happened that made you change from Cabo- so much happened while I was gone! But, with that said, I seriously agree with Natasha- elope to Cabo & forget all the drama!
-
That's definitely possible- they weren't available when we went for our site visit. We stayed at Presidente & Riu Palace and just went to Dreams one day to meet with the WC. What are your dates, are they flexible so you could go a different time?
-
They might be- Dreams fills up pretty much all year round. Have you contacted a TA?

What size paper lanterns?
Sarah replied to KARALANE's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I used 12 and 18 inch lanterns because I didn't want a uniform look. I bought the lanters from asianideas.com and had 24 total. Dreams charged me $180 to wire them up- they looked great... I also bought table lanterns from the dollar store. They used AA batteries and sat on the tables. Here's a pic that shows the table lanterns and the hanging lanterns... -
I've heard a trio and a band, and if you have a bigger group I'd definitely go for the band. I hired a trio, but got lucky and got a band instead! The band qas a really impressive sound- they play romantic music or party music, whatever you want. My video clip has some mariachi music in the background, so you kinda get the idea of what they sound like... Here's my video thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t5263 Here's my review: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t5298

hair & makeup gallery

I didn't think it was any more humid than Michigan can get in the summer sometimes...my hair behaved about like what it does here on humid days. -

Aww, it made me so happy to watch it again and see you guys there! I'm so happy you came- it made it even more special to me! I can't wait to see our pics together from Juan- I bet they're great! I just can't decide about doing my own editing. I probably could figure it out- but it would take me forever, and I don't know if I want to wait that long to get it done! I've seen some really good editing of wedding videos, and I just don't want mine to be sub-par. We'll see!

They ran electrical line in a square shape and spliced into it every couple feet to hang my lanterns. it took them like 2-3 hours! I was impressed...

Awww... :Blushing: You girls are too sweet...thanks for your nominations. My turn! I like the two-tier thing btw... For recent brides, I vote for Edyta. I think there should be an award to having the most amazing wedding with the least amount of planning. If there is such a thing, Edyta takes the cake, literally! I've never seen anything so beautiful with so little before-hand preparation! For new, or regular members, I also totally vote Courtney (NiNiBride) hands down. She is sooo welcoming and friendly, super funny and more than willing to lend a hand. She got Edyta's slideshow to Juan at the last second for her and also helped me figure out how in the heck to download a song from my computer playlist correctly. For all the planning I've done, you'd think I'd learn how to use the computer a little better! lol

OK Glenda, here's mine. My Excel program flipped out a couple months ago and I haven't reloaded it yet, so I had to redo this in a Work document. Not quite as nice looking, but you get the idea. I'm at just over $26k, including wedding bands and dress, not including e-ring. EXPENSES.doc

CONGRATS! I am back to work, and I do have a stupid smile on my face most of the time. Of course, I work with a bunch of nurses that are totally inappropriate and are able to make even me blush! It was really hard to go back to work last week, but we have the weekend off together so that will be nice. It's reeaalllyyy wierd signing Sarah Cam...-Sp.... RN. I have to sign both names until it gets all legally changed and all my paperwork including nursing license is changed into my new name. So strange writing it! I can't think of any random tips or anything that's not in the review at this point, but if you think of any questions definitely let me know! Did I ever send you my final docs that I gave Mariana? I stole your timeline, but then I also did a "details" doc, and a seating chart that also explained my decor. That might be helpful to you if you want it... -
