Or, if you're like me and like to fly by the seat of your pants, you can take your marriage license from Mexico- in Spanish to the Social Security office just to see what they'll tell you. Then, when the (wonder of all wonders) DON'T make you have it translated, but just get you a new social security card (I seriously think the girl that did my paperwork there was new and had no clue what she was doing!), you march straight over to the Secretary of State with your same spanish translation paperwork and demand that they honor it since the Social Security office did! The SOS tried to tell me I had to have it translated, but I pitched a fit about how the Social Security office took it, yada yada, they got a manager, and I got my way...lol
Now, i'm sure i'll have to have it translated to get my passport changed, and probably my student loans and stuff, but for now at least I have a new Drivers License and Social Security card!
