I set limits for myself right from the beginning. I was afraid I'd fall in love with something really expensive and would feel forced to buy it. So, I never tried on anything more than $1500. I must have tried on literally 100 dresses before I found the one that was "right" for me. I actually ended up a 2 dress bride because I bought an informal dress (but used it for my TTD pics) then decided i wanted something more formal. I spent around $800 for dress & veil. My dress was by Allure Bridal.

Your TA may be able to negotiate free rooms with your room block. I arranged tasting with Mariana about a week ahead of time, once we had our date planned...

Congratulations Kelli! Thanks for posting a review. I can't wait to see your pics from Juan. Mine took forever, and every time he would give me a timeframe, it always took 3 times as long as he said...I know it's hard, but hang in there...they will be worth it!

Congratulations Kristin! It sounds like everything went well despite the mishaps. I'm so sorry about your money- that really is a bummer. FYI for future Dreams travelers, I always just bring a lock for my suitcase that's like a padlock, and lock it once I get to the room. I put all my valuables in one suitcase and hide them in my clothes in the locked suitcase. I figure someone has to be really bold to actually break into my suitcase...

Oh my goodness Tammy- that is craziness. I'm so glad it's over! Whew! And, what the heck does Marty think she needs Rosie's ashes for? The woman is crazy...

We arrived Wednesday, most of our guests arrived on Friday and the wedding was Monday. Most guests left Wednesday and we left that Friday. I thought it was a perfect amount of time- we just wish we had a couple more days! We did feel rested though, both before and after.

My husband HATED the forum until our wedding... then he saw how beneficial it was, and also got to meet Tammy & Edyta & their DHs. I think then he finally realized it wasn't all bad. He still doesn't really want me to spend as much time on here as I do- but it's because it definitely affects the cleanliness of my house and my overall productivity! I still try not to be on the computer when he's home, and make sure I get my housework done or he'll know i've been online all day! I have told him I will cut down on my forum time since I'm married, but he understands now (finally!) that you girls are my friends- some closer than others- but that I feel invested in so many of you and want to see how your weddings turn out!

Do you have Windows Movie Maker? i've made a couple slideshows with that program (it came with my new computer that has Windows Vista). I then upload them to photobucket...hosted free.

So, I was trying to make something cute to send our friends and family after compiling the approx 600+ snapshots people took of our wedding weekend. I started playing around with my Windows Movie Maker, and this is the result! Thanks to Ann & Leigh- I had to totally rip off the first song from Ann's slideshow- I loved it & it totally fit the mood... So for all you pic whores, here you go...it's 6 minutes long.

Gorgeous Sarah- you and Ricky are so cute together~ your pics are awesome!! Juan you are on fire!

Just an FYI- the bonfire at Dreams will be fun, but if they are referring to the fire pit at the Barracuda Bar/ Barracuda Beach area, it's a small-ish fire pit with rocks around the outside and a gas flame in the middle- probably less than 6 feet across. Fun, yes- impressive as the Riu bonfire- not nearly. We debated doing this, especially since the Barracuda bar is right there, and we could have done a fun dinner- but we just decided we would want something more formal. I'm looking forward to seeing someone actually do it there though!

My local cleaner was having a special on wedding dress cleaning, so I took advantage- had no intention of really getting my dress cleaned! It's now in a box and i haven't opened it to inspect- there was a pink stain on the front from some sort of tequila/mixed shot I did & tons of dirt on the back...I should probably open it- I guess I wasn't really much help! lol I only paid $99 for the cleaning...

We just got lucky, I guess. I didn't have receipts with me, didn't even think of it! I had two huge suitcases full of OOT stuff & decor. I also was carrying my dress (well, 2 dresses, 2 suits, 4 bathing suits, & like 8 sundresses) in my garment bag which was HUGE. We had 8 pieces total between the two of us. We fortunately got a green light- they asked us if we were getting married, we said yes- they waved us through...whew~

C'Mon Jonathan- you've got to have ONE pic you can post for us! Sorry for your crappy trip home, btw... Jessalyn, congrats again! I can't wait to see your pics...glad you are home safe!
