  1. I never wear my rings in the shower, but I have a little dish (that my DH painted for me at Dreams!) that I set them in right before I get in, and I put them back on as soon as I've applied lotion and hair products- I can't stand gunk getting into my ring. The Tacori dealer recommended that I not apply lotion, hair styling products, or other such substances with my ring on, especially because of the pave and detail on my ring. I clean my ring with jewelry cleaner from a jeweler (just the liquid stuff), and I can't remember what it's called. I just soak the ring for a few minutes, then use a soft brush- I can't believe how dirty the cleaner water is, and I'm usually pretty careful about getting my ring dirty. However, over a year since I got my e-ring, and I still clean my rings probably 2 times a week.
  2. Wonderful review! I am so sorry that you had such a difficult time at the chapel, but it sounds like you and DH had a good attitude about the whole thing, despite the apparent lack of tact of the employees- asking for a tip? How rude! Your hair, makeup, dress, flowers all were beautiful- you did a fantastic job!
  3. Tammy, I'd at least do a mypublisher book of Juan's pics. I know you don't think the quality is nice, and you've had customer service issues with them, but I still don't think they're that bad. I LOVE the book I did for my brother- I'm probably going to use them to make our parent books. I'd probably do your book within the next year. Spend a few weeks looking at your photos to get familiar with them and decide which ones you love the most. Certain ones will definitely start to stand out. Take the top 30-50 and make a book. It doesn't have to be HUGE- that way you can really showcase the pictures you love, and cuts down on the cost.
  4. When you start a new thread, there is a place below the text box that you can check to add a poll. It will ask how many options, then when you hit "submit" you'll be taken to the next page where you add your poll options. Does that make sense?

    Hello!

    Cuba looks gorgeous!
  7. I love the pic of Erik dragging you through the water! Looks like you two had tons of fun!
  8. Wow Tammy! I can't believe how many great shots you got after hiring Juan for such a short amount of time...so gorgeous!
  9. I guess it depends on where you go and who you talk to, but my local courthouse told me I didn't need to do anything else. We were going to go do a quick legal ceremony when we got home (although we did have a legal ceremony in Cabo), but when we scheduled the appointment and I explained our situation, they asked us why we wanted to get married again, and told me the marriage is recognized. I took my paperwork (in Spanish) and was able to get a Social Security card, Driver's license, and change all my accounts (banking, credit cards, etc). I know others have had more trouble, but for me it was quite painless.
  10. Congrats girls! Both of you totally deserve this There are so many great girls on this forum, each month this gets harder & harder!
  11. How exciting Christine! We've got a celebrity on our hands! The write-up looked great, and once again, your pics are beautiful
  12. The tres leches cake was delicious! I don't remember what canapes we had...I'll try to search for it, I know I have it written down somewhere!
  13. I think the red is classier and more attention-grabbing than the blue. But, I really like the tangerine colored one. i think the colors go well with your e-pics, and i like the black borders on your pics, tying in with the black font outline on the website. Very nice! I should upload the one I was just playing around with for you...it's almost exactly the same layout, except I had the monogram on the bottom right, and i used the picture that you had in the top middle on your original one. Too funny! I like what you've done with it though...simple and attention grabbing, classy and not too busy. Just make sure you add some 'white space' on the left side, because you have white space around all your other items on the card. Does that make sense?
  14. Are you going to have a rental car? i know some girls drove their welcome bags to whatever hotel their guests were staying at the day they were to arrive. Worst case scenario you could hand them out after the wedding, if your wedding is early on in everyone's stay. You could mail them after the RSVP, but if you decide to mail them, i'd wait until a week or two before the wedding. All of my guest were at the same hotel, so I just had the front desk people hand them out as guests arrived. I took the bags down each morning.
  15. If it was me, I might either lighten up the blue background like Paula suggested, or go with white- then your logo will stand out more. Or, you could make a darker logo (also easy in Lumapix) to go with this STD. I don't remember for sure, but I think you can upload a completed project .jpg to vistaprint, and therefore use your own fonts. I think there is a size limit to the upload though, so make sure your finished project is small enough. Does that make sense? Another layout idea (to keep it simpler, and make your logo stand out more) would be to just to 2 large pics (I like the first two from the left the best, just my opinion) with your logo in the middle, and text underneath it. I'm thinking that by the time this prints out as a postcard the pics are going to be pretty small, and it might be better to emphasize a couple of them and see them well. But, if you leave it the way it is, it's already good. If you don't make any other changes, I would just make the picture on the upper right align with the one underneath it, and do the same with the 2 middle photos...it will look more balanced that way. Just a couple suggestions!
  16. I love those colors together Janet. I'm also looking for decor inspiration right now...and I'm soooooo not creative in that department. I'll be watching your ideas as they unfold! I'm so excited for you two...when do you get to move in?
  17. Congratulations! Have a wonderful time in Vegas!
  18. Congratulations! I am positively dying to see the pics from your wedding!
  19. I just love that obnoxious huge sparkly welcome! lol Welcome to the forum Trish! I was a Dreams Cabo bride, so although I've never stayed at Dreams in Cancun, I can definitely vouch for Dreams in general! Let us know how we can help you
  20. Yeah, I'm tired of being DIY Queen mod- i need a new nickname! lol Have an absolutely amazing time Ann. I'm trying to think of some way I can smuggle myself into your suitcase, but I have a feeling it won't work. Darn. Take tons of pics for us and have FUN! We'll hold down the fort while you're gone!
  21. Well, let me tell you some things NOT to do...from experience...that should help you out! 1. Don't participate in any dangerous sports/activities. I wrapped my snowmobile around a tree a couple days before my BD shoot and had a huge black bruise on my knee. 2. Don't eat pizza the night before, even if your FI really wants you to. No surprise, you WILL feel nasty and bloated! lol 3. Don't worry about feel self-conscious. As long as you have a good photographer, you'll be running around naked in no time! 4. Don't drink wine or champagne if you flush easily. This was one thing I did manage to behave myself and NOT do! But seriously, you will have fun. Just relax, breathe, and when you are looking at the camera, look at it like it's Andy...Leigh told me to do that and it really helped. Oh yeah and the #1 DON'T DON'T make your BDW girls wait forever for a teaser...we want all details ASAP! lol
