  1. How fun! omg- I can't imagine having Juan & Elizabeth photograph my wedding. What an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing the pictures Elizabeth, I love seeing Juan at work- reminds me of my wedding
  2. Happy birthday Anny! I hope you have a great day and that your DH has something fun planned This is your last birthday before you're a mommy- isn't that exciting!?
  3. 1. How old are you? 28 2. At what age did you/will you get married? I didn't have any preconceived ideas about marriage. After my divorce I never thought I'd get married again. 3. Do you have children? not yet! 4. Did you think you would marry the person you are with now? I've known him since I was 10. He was always one of the guys. Never thought of him as someone I'd marry! But, he snuck in and took that friend angle to win my heart 5. Were you ever engaged or married to someone other than the person you are with now? Unfortunately yes. But Jeff was one of my good friends during that time, so he's quite sympathetic to the whole thing. 6. Do you want a garden wedding, beach wedding, or the traditional church wedding? I wanted anything but traditional! Had a beach wedding... 7. Where did you/will you get married? Dreams Los Cabos 8. First dance - classic waltz, slow and sexy, or fast and spicy? Like Christine, it was slow- not sure how sexy as we're both not the best dancers! 9. How many guests did you/will you have? 18. Perfect. 10. Do you want/did you have an extravagant wedding or a simple wedding? I wanted something special- not simple, not extravagant- but memorable. 11. Vows - traditional or something you make up on your own? We liked the traditional vows that were required for a legal Mexico ceremony. 12. How many layers of cake did you/will you have? 3 13. Is/was your wedding/reception at a hotel? Yup - A hotel in Cabo! 14. When did you/will you get married - sunrise, mid-day, sunset? Before sunset- late afternoon 15. Did you/will you have your reception outdoors or indoors? Outdoors 16. Plan every detail down to the napkins or let someone else decide? I planned everything (with Jeff's input). Although I can't say I really cared about the napkins... 17. How did/will the bride enter? Once my dad remembered that he had to walk me down the aisle (!) he came and met me in the lobby, and we walked the long path down to the wedding gazebo and down the aisle. It was a great memory. 18. Song to walk down the aisle to: I just asked the mariachi band to play "romantic" music. I can hear it in my head, but I have no idea what it was. It was beautiful. 19. Song to make your exit: Same as #19, except party music! 20. Will you/did you have a solemn ceremony or a light one? I think it was a good combination. 21. At what age did you think you would get married? I think I always figured I'd be married by 25. 22. Who to invite - practically everyone or a select few? select few 23. Wedding menu - fine dining or simply delicious? simply delicious 24. Champagne or red wine? Both! I prefer champagne... 25. Honeymoon right after the wedding, awhile after the wedding, or no honeymoon? It was kinda a combo wedding, then honeymoon kind of trip 26. Was your/will your honeymoon be at a place special to you both or somewhere brand new to you both? Cabo- special to us both. 27. Who will pay for the bills? We share expenses. We still have separate accounts and I handle the finances, so he gives me xx dollars a month. 28. Living together: Not before marriage or absolutely before marriage? Absolutely. 29. Anything else about marriage you'd like to say? I can't begin to describe how completely fulfilling it is to find the person you're meant to be with. Jeff has enriched my life in so many ways and although it's cliche, I can't imagine life without him. We were friends that developed into more- I think that's the best kind of relationship possible. I didn't think life would change much with just the paperwork, we already felt so committed, but it has. It's wonderful!
  4. Jackie I don't know what you were worried about- you look gorgeous! I love the boudoir pics, but your engagement pics are awesome too! The balloon ones are probably my favorites...
  5. Absolutely! Catherine, it's YOUR wedding so you should do what you want. I was just in a wedding a couple years ago where there were two Matrons of Honor. I thought it was really cool that the bride wanted to honor both of them that way. And I was in a wedding about 5 years ago where I was the MOH with another Maid of Honor. It was cool...Go for it!
  6. We LOVE firsthand experience! I think it would be great to hear what your impressions were. Did you make a decision?
  7. Yay! Another Dreams bride! Welcome to the forum...
  8. Aww Jaime you're cute. Happy birthday Martin!
  9. Wow Sol- those bags are awesome! Can I come to your wedding? lol I can't believe the big day is next week. That seems like it came up so fast! It's going to be beautiful...
  10. Okay Melissa, those mugs are officially the cutest B&G gift ever!
  11. Erica to be honest we didn't get to try any at out at the tasting, and we didn't have any at our cocktail hour either! Our guests said they were good, but I don't remember anything specific. This is what we had: Mini Quiche Lorraine, Mini Tamales, Mini Tacos, Chicken & Cheese Turnovers, Hot Wings, & Beef Brochette with blue cheese ETA: For our reception dinner we had: Appetizer: Portobello Mushroom in a Puff Pastry Shell with Balsamic Vinaigrette Soup: Cream of Broccoli with Parmesan Cheese Entree: Lobster & Filet Mignon with Sweet & Sour Sauce Dessert: Tres Leches wedding cake with white chocolate & strawberries
  12. Congratulations Monica! I hope you have a perfect day
  13. you guys are so silly...love the running pics
  14. We had the full mariachi band and they played romantic music before the ceremony and I asked for "party" music for the postlude and cocktail hour. I gave them no other direction and they did a great job. My guests loved it, and it provided the perfect upbeat Mexican ambience I wanted.
  15. We used the civil ceremony (legal) at Dreams Cabo and added a sand ceremony and my dad & brother sang a song. Our ceremony was just barely 20 minutes, even with these add ins. I'm not sure how Claudia's was 30 minutes- that seems amazing to me considering the almost 10 minutes my sand ceremony & song took up and we still barely came in at 20...
  16. Welcome Jamie! I'm also a Dreams Bride- you will love it! And I'm an OB RN

  18. Thanks so much for your wonderful review! It sounds like everything was perfect. Congratulations to you both! Now off to see the pictures...
  19. Happy Birthday Shelley! I hope you have a wonderful day
  20. PM Maria (MikkiStreak) and ask her for the link to her directions, unless she's posted them on here somewhere- I forgot. Otherwise, I have some templates in my Lumapix program- if you tell me the colors, names, dates, & other info I can whip out a couple for you really quick.
  21. Yup Jamy, the first thing I thought when I read this thread was "She obviously hasn't heard about Jamy & Ann's weddings!"... Also, I think most professional photographers aren't going to focus on the crazy drunken make-a-fool-of-yourself dancing...most people don't really want to see that after the fact!
  22. I can't remember getting charged additional taxes for my ceremony/reception. And, there is not an additional gratuity fee, but I did tip each waiter at the end of the night. I really wasn't planning to do this, but the waiters at my reception were so awesome I gave them $30 each. They were so much fun- they kept the drinks flowing, passed out my favors and glow-necklaces to everyone (while wearing them themselves!), got everyone doing shots, danced with us on the dancefloor. They really went above and beyond, in my opinion. In addition, I had specifically requested 2 of them that I'd gotten to know over the week, so I was really happy they were there. Like I said, I wasn't planning to tip and had I had more $$ on me I probably would have given them more. They were great...
