CourtneyV's Wedding Review w/Pics!!
Sarah replied to CourtneyV's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Congratulations Courtney! Wow... that teaser pic by Leigh is amazing. I'm dying to see the rest! You were absolutely gorgeous. Your hair, your flowers, the dress- it all was perfect! I can't believe your wedding is over- I've watched you plan to so long I'm glad everything went so well. -
Aww, he's adorable Amy! Congratulations to the newest BDW mommy! And, I must say, you look amazing for just delivering!

What about just printing your logo on a fairly large sized piece of cardstock and hanging it from the straps? You could put a message on the back too.

What is everyone doing for the holiday weekend? (U.S. girls)
Sarah replied to Alyssa's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I'm working all weekend I told myself I was going to start slowing down and not working so much. So what did I do? Picked up Sunday night. But it's considered the holiday (for night-shifters, the holiday is the night before) and I'll be in overtime. That means it's time-and-a-half of my holiday double-time-and-a-half, meaning I'll be making basically quadruple time. That's a whole week's worth of work in one night. Yup, couldn't pass it up! So you all enjoy your barbecues. I'll be sleeping -

I'm so sorry Tammy. I know it's hard, but you really did this poor dog the best favor anyone could do. If he had heartworm that bad, think of how long he had been suffering... It's so sad that heartworm is so preventable, yet so many dogs aren't protected. I'm always in awe of the size of your heart.

Sarah replied to Spazz's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
omg look at all that cake on your face! Looks like you had a blast...congrats! -
Fantastic thread! Thank you so much to each and every one of you who are service men and women, and to those that have families in the military. Freedom isn't free!

Oh that's great- at least you'll have 2 less for the weekend Yup, 7 weeks tomorrow. I think Jeff would die if he couldn't go to Cabo. He needs a vacation even more than I do...lol But thanks for the offer- that's so sweet of you I'm sure I'll be fine. Heck, how bad can you feel lying out on a beach chair? I'm feeling a little sad that I can't have my Miami Vice's and KahluaColadas, but oh well, I'm sure Jeff will drink enough to make up for it!

As much as you want to help Tammy, sometimes I think you just have to put your foot down, you know? They might not be trying as hard to find another place because they know you and Cain will always come to their rescue. Is there a way you can back out of that other one? They surely would have to understand that you are only allowed so many dogs at your condo and that you're risking getting in trouble... I'm feeling good, thanks for asking. I'm nauseated all the time, but I guess that's to be expected so I'm fine with it. I've lost 2 lbs because I feel to sick to eat, quite often. But, since I'm too scared to get excited at this point, I guess those are all good things, right? I'm sooo excited about Cabo. We leave in 10 days- I have so much to do it's just crazy

Welcome home Jacqueline! Thanks for the pic, although you are such a tease! lol Carly looks gorgeous (as I knew she would!). Can't wait til she gets home and fills us in on the rest...
-
Oh my goodness Tammy! I think you're going to be chasing dogs all weekend. Can you imagine if they busted into the bedroom while you were painting? omg... i just have this vision of you and Cain running through the house after 6 dogs all weekend. Wow. Once again, you are a saint. Or maybe crazy! No, you're such a sweetheart to help dogs the way you do

Mrs: It's gotta be Ann. Who else delivers their preterm baby in another state and still manages to be on the forum all the time? If that's not love for your forum girls I don't know what is...lol BtB: I gotta agree with Abbie (DougsGirl)... she makes me laugh, she's always got something nice to say, and I think it's time she wins

Look at that little yellow glowbug! lol Yup, she needs lights She's just so adorable Ann, I can't get over her. I've told everyone at work your story (I think they're all a little sick of hearing about it, truth be told) and everyone is just amazed at how well she's doing. Remember wimpy white boys? Last night I was the nursery nurse and had twin 36weekers. They were both in the nursery on oxygen all night... see? lol

I'm an RN, and work in one of the better-paying hospitals in Michigan. When I graduated 3 years ago, I started at 45k a year. Today, my base pay, if I only work 36 hours a week (full time) I make ~60k. I work weekend nights though, and that's the best pay. I also work crazy OT, so I actually make about 50% more than that. The way I worked the first 4 months of the year I was going to break 6 figures, but I've actually cut back a ton recently so that won't happen. The economy doesn't directly affect me, except that we have seen a national slight decrease in births because of the economic uncertainty. Oh sure, we'll still have our fair share of medicaid 18 year olds having their 5 baby, but for the "normal" people it's decreased.

Dreams Hotel Room Paid in Full to lock-in date??

Joy, what's important to YOU? I only had one shooter at my wedding. I really don't think paying for a second shooter is a necessity. Yes, it's nice, and if the photographer you fall in love with has one, that's great. But don't make your decision based on that. Yes, you do get more pictures but how many do you really need. My one photographer shot 1800 pictures, over 300 of which I LOVE in 6 hours. In terms of the "extra" stuff, it is totally individual. What would you do with the CD of pictures if you had them? Are you going to make your own photo books? Do you want to make your own slideshows, your own prints? Some people are into that stuff, some are not. Some photographers offer great packages with all that stuff built it. Do you want a slideshow, or could you make one yourself in Windows movie maker? Again, it just depends on what's important to you. My #1 advice to you... don't pick your photographer soley based on package or price. Look at lots of different photographer's work. Talk to their clients, look at WHOLE weddings they've done- not just their "best" shots on their website. Then, make yourself a list of things you just can't do without, and compare that to the list of photographers you decide you love. That should help lead you to your decision... Good luck!

Wow that's some tall hair!... ...and nice pics JM -
I really think this is the best plan, since Ann & Paul have most of the "supplies" they need. Their biggest issue is housing and food for the next month. I think this is the way we can help them the most, and I know they're responsible and will put it to good use Thank you all for your overwhelming generosity. It truly is amazing how this simple destination wedding forum is filled with many people I consider closer than many of my "real" friends...
