I need your opinion on dresses!
Sarah replied to Sarah's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Zipper back- it's actually the dress that Stephanie just bought- isn't that too funny that we picked the same dress on the same day! -
Got THE dress, and shoes, and veil,
Sarah replied to RAENJAY's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
omg Stephanie- I just tried on that dress today and it's in my top two! Too funny I just posted a poll for you girls to vote on what you like better. Although, I think that dress looks absolutely awesome on you! -
Wow that is a cool program! Thanks for the tip

We want to bring a 3 member band we know from San Diego but FI won't get his act together and confirm what all we would pay/take care of for them to come. Its getting agravating because if it doesn't work out I want to book a DJ and musicians for the ceremony soon! We are surprisingly not very far. It has taken us FOREVER to make a decision about where to go, when to do it, etc. In fact we are still working on the contract with the resort right now. Their rates just went up so we are just trying to get a group block straightened out right now. I am working on my Save the Dates this week and hopefully will have them in the mail by this weekend. We are planning to go back in Feb or so, and do food and cake tasting. We already have the photographer, and I am debating whether or not I need to use Maye, or just do everything through Mariana at Dreams. We are debating whether to have a DJ or just do our own music with an Ipod. We are going to have 20-30 people, what about you? When are you planning to arrive for your wedding? I think we will be there May 2-9. We're debating how long we want to stay.

Oooh Rebecca, that sounds so good- I can't wait to try!
-
Thanks- we nurses feel the same about law enforcement/ corrections- you guys totally do not make enough money! Us public servants have to stick together

Great idea Rebecca! My favorite snack is Romaine roll-ups. Very easy, lo-cal, lo-fat and good! Take a washed Romaine leaf and spread very thin with fat free cream cheese. Sprinkle a few sunflower seeds on it and roll it up. If you want to add some protein, put some deli-sliced turkey breast in too. This satisfies my crunchy, salty cravings!

Thanks for your input Rebecca. I love sugar free Jello and Pudding too! I agree about the carb stuff. I can't do Atkins or any of that super restrictive carb dieting. I lose tons of weight, then put it all back on plus more as soon as I go back to eating regular. Right now I'm trying to incorporate more fruits and veggies, lean meats & proteins and "healthy" carbs and exercise more. I can't say what I weigh, because my other rule is that I can only weigh myself once a month (I tend to obsess on the scale!) but my jeans already feel looser!

Ok, so I haven't posted since Friday. I worked all weekend and that always screws things up. Let's just paraphrase it all and say that Saturday was a good workout day, I did 40 minutes of Tae Bo boot camp even though I was so sore from all the lunges I did Friday night that I could barely move. I had a couple more pieces of the baklava (damn people who give food gifts!) and ate reasonably during the night at work, Sunday I couldn't hardly get out of bed I was so sore, so there was no workout. We went out to dinner where I had a chicken chimichanga and chips with cheese dip. We always go out to dinner on Sundays, so I just need to make better choices next time. At work last night I ate a handful of trail mix & a handful of chips (total of 350 calories). So I ate terrible then starved myself the rest of the night- I know, it was bad, but I had a scary night with someone having a bad labor and their baby was doing poorly so I was always in the room and didn't have time to eat. Right now I am sitting at my computer eating my breakfast of Jelly Bellies because I'm stressing about room blocks and reservations for Jeff's family. Tomorrow will be better...btw, I'm going dress shopping tomorrow! I'll let you all know how it goes

We will be arriving hopefully around the 2nd or 3rd and staying through probably the 10th or 11th. We still have to officially book our travel. So, we will both be there for eachother's weddings! How fun is that?? We should definitely talk about decor, etc. We might be able to share expenses for stuff. I don't know if you are planning to bring much stuff with you, or what your plans were for decorating for your reception. I haven't gotten that far yet!

Good luck and have fun at Riu! Congratulations

Very cool! Sounds like somethings I'll have to try out. Thanks, Christa for the info. I also have large pores and my makeup has a difficult time staying where it's supposed to!

Never mind, I found it- under "Lovely Weddings"- imagine that!

Why are you having a DW?
Sarah replied to TammyWright's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Jeff & I chose a destination wedding for many of the same reasons as some who have already posted. For one, we have too many "acquintances" who would have to be invited- Jeff's mom is in politics and would have a ridiculous invited list if it was local. We also have a lot of coworkers that would expect invites. We decided we would rather spend a lot of money on a few people rather than a little money on many. My parents don't have alot of $$, so we are paying for them to go to Cabo. They have never been out of the coutry before, so I am so excited for them. It is so much more meaningful to us to have the ones nearest and dearest rather than 200 people we barely know. We picked Cabo because we love Mexico and wanted to go somewhere new, we wanted somewhere on the ocean, and during my search I found Juan Carlos Tapia's site with his incredible pictures (which sold me on Cabo) and led me to this forum. Once I saw how many different resources were available to help me plan this Cabo wedding, it became an easy decision! -
Very Cool! I'll have to keep that in mind and email the hotel for that info once we get a little closer.

Good luck and congratulations!

Aww Kash, sorry you don't feel good- get better soon! Friday info: This day was a washout on the diet, but a good day for exercise! Breakfast (9am): 1 cup oatmeal with 2 tsp Splenda borwn sugar and skim milk Snack (1pm): 2 pieces Baklava (I'm REALLY wishing Jeff's sister hadn't brought us this, it just sits in the kitchen and taunts me!) Lunch (7pm): Yoplait light yogurt Snack (11pm): 10 graham cracker sticks with a small scoop of pumpkin fluff dip (very lo-cal and tasty- one of the girls at work made it with pumpkin pie filling, fat free cool whip and sugar free jello) Dinner (1am): 2 fried tostadas with all the toppings (yup, that includes sour cream and cheese). One of my coworkers makes the best homemade tostadas! Snack (6am): 20 tater tots Exercise: Tao Bo Boot camp, 40 minutes (4pm), then later at work we were Sooooo bored at about 3 am and decided to work off some of our bad food. I got two of my coworkers to speed walk around the unit with me and do lunges down the long hallway for 30 minutes, then to finish off we ran 3 flights of stairs, down and back up.

Wow that seems really reasonable! Are you using her as your coordinator, or just for this service? Is her contact info posted on here somewhere, I couldn't find it but maybe I'm just blind today!

So if you are going to get legally married in Cabo and then come back and get legally married in the US, do you have to tell them you are already married? Are you allowed to legally marry someone twice? I really like this idea, I'm just wondering how it works- do you just not tell them you are already married?

Be strong Tammy! Think about your dress and your pictures. Have some carrots!

I would LOVE to go to Europe, but that won't be in the budget unless we wait awhile. FI wants to go to Hawaii, so now we're just trying to decide if we want to go there directly from Cabo, or wait and go a few months later.

Although, tonight at work for instance, we're all bringing stuff to make tacos. See- I just can't win- the girls I work with eat so bad at work and are so skinny! I'll catch up to them eventually. I'm just going to eat 1 taco instead of 4!

They do, although it's not as calorie-free as the original Splenda because it's 1/2 real Brown Sugar, and 1/2 Splenda. But, it's awesome!
