Riu is very convenient to town. You could almost walk (if you really wanted your exercise!). One thing we liked about Riu is that you could walk up the beach to The Office, Tabascos, easily get a water taxi, etc. It was a nice location!

OK, I just signed up for Weight Watchers online. I get 20 points a day, I want to lose 29lbs, but my short term goal of a 10% body weight loss means I need to lose 13. I'll keep ya posted...

lol! I am still out here. I had two get-togethers that I wanted to get past this weekend before I started. They are over, now I just need to get motivated! I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to go to the actual meetings, but I'll head over to the online site right now and report back asap... Thanks for keepin me in line girls- seriously I have no self control and no motivation!

hehe, yes he is a smart man- you know if you give them too much freedom in the decision making process you can create a monster! Jeff has backed off now and says I can just do whatever I want- thank GOD!!

I just sent out my Save the Dates hoping to get some sort of a response off of those so we will pretty much know how many are going once we get around to the real invitations. I plan to give people 6 or 8 weeks, since I know some will put the STD aside not think about it again until they get our real invite then freak out trying to figure out how to get there...

Beautiful pictures Megan, thanks for sharing. Post as many as you want- we love seeing them!

After going to Cabo, I would have to say it would be between the Hilton and Sheraton for me. We wanted to go the all-inclusive route so these weren't really hotels we were considering, but we went by them anyway. The grounds of the Sheraton are awesome, and the Hilton has such a classy, upscale look to it. There's nothing wrong with the Westin- the architechture is amazing, it just didn't impress us as much in person (it might have been because the people weren't as friendly about us just stopping by!).

I'm so glad you took so many pics. Actually do you have any of the poolbar, and the gazebo area. I've seen pics of them before but I often wonder what they might look like on a normal (not picture perfect) day for a vacationer. Jackie Hey Jackie- Karla just posted an awesome slideshow under the "Riu" thread that has some pics of the gazebo in it- check it out! I gotta stop looking at Riu wedding pics, it makes me want to get married there!

Is an AI good for the honeymoon? When we were at the Presidente and the Riu for our site visit, it seemed like the only other kinds of people that were there were honeymooners. We actually ran into an old high school classmate of Jeff's who was there on her honeymoon (what are the chances!?). I think it depends on what you had in mind for your honeymoon. If you want to spend most of your time enjoying eachother in your room, then go for something with knockout atmosphere (like Palmilla, Las Ventanas, or one of the other $$$$$ hotels). If you want to be out lounging at the pool, listening to party music, drinking ALOT, and going on excursions, stay somewhere like Riu Palace or another AI. Their rooms are pretty nice too, ours at the Riu had a beautiful view (see my Riu pics in the Cabo Accomodation folder). We actually have thought of going back there for our honeymoon we liked it so much. Either way, Cabo is so beautiful you will have a wonderful time. We just decided we would rather spend less $$ for the room and get a longer stay.

Yeah Tammy! You will feel so much better after you go! I agree with what Janet said about Juan. He does such a great job is (at least for me so far) has been extremely reliable and timely. Is Cain going with you? You could always get some awesome engagement pics like someone else I know...lol In addition to what the other girls have suggested, I would recommend checking out the entertainment vendors you will plan to use (if any). I know some girls are chartering sunset cruises and things like that- you could try it out and see if it's something you want to do. I'm so excited for you, although it's just pretty much par for the course for you to have to bring the FMIL. Again- you are the world's most patient person!

You just have to remember to play everyday (of course I remember because I'm addicted to it!) because some days there's alot of people playing and sometimes nobody else...

I warned Tammy when the lottery got started, I get kinda addicted to gambling games (especially if they're not real money!)

Thanks for the review Megan! It sounds like you made the best of it despite some snags along the way. Congratulations!

The ones I posted are some of my "better" pictures, let me know there is something in particular you wanted to see. We took over 400 pictures of our various locations and activities, so you never know, I might have it!

I was asked to post pics of the resorts I stayed at during my site visit. Here are some pics of the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas. This is the main entrance (nope, I didn't take this beautiful picture- Juan Carlos Tapia did). Here is our room The view from our room Room minibar The lobby Lobby bar

Here are some pictures of the Presidente Intercontinental All Inclusive resort in San Jose del Cabo. These were taken in September during our site visit, we stayed there for 3 days. This is what the buildings look like. Notice the ground level rooms have hammocks and a patio! The grounds are beautiful and well-kept with lots of palms and cactus. This is the "family pool". The large blue architechtural piece is a waterfall. There are 3 pools total at this resort. Here is another pic of part of the pool with the bridge over it. Pool bar- the drinks here were the best of any AI I've been at! The beach and the view More of the beach Picture of the resort taken from the beach (the sky is awful gray- this was the first day we got there as hurricane Lane was approaching!).

Dreams & Riu are the nicest. Another one to check out though, is the Presidente Intercontinental. It is located in San Jose Del Cabo and is the farthest north resort of the Los Cabos tourist area. We stayed there for 3 of our 7 day scouting trip in September. It is smaller & quieter, than Dreams & Riu. The grounds are very pretty and the service is excellent. The food was not so fantastic, but it would be worth checking out. Almost right next door is the Royal Solaris, and the Crowne Plaza is right down the road. Another thing to consider when deciding between these 5 is the location. Presidente, Royal Solaris and Crowne Plaza are in San Jose del Cabo, Dreams is along the corridor of Los Cabos and Riu Palace is in Cabo San Lucas. We stayed at Riu for 4 days and loved it- there are many Riu brides on here that can probably help you if you have questions about that property. We chose Dreams for our wedding for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it had the wedding gazebo that we wanted, the quieter location and the ambience of the resort. Let us know how else we can help! If you want to see some pictures of Riu, Dreams, or Presidente there are some spread around on the forum, or let me know and I'd be glad to email you some.
