  1. I spent $495 on my dress and $230 on my veil. I could have soooo easily spent $4-5k on a dress so I didn't let myself even try something like that on. I just kept shopping until I found something under my $2k limit. I was pleasantly surprised when the dress I fell in love with ended up to be very inexpensive! My advice- find what makes you feel beautiful, but set your budget ahead of time. Once I found this dress, I would have paid for it no matter how much it cost, I loved it so much- luckily it was cheap!

  3. Ann, I voted $10-15k. We're still far away from having final numbers, but this should include stationery, decor, welcome dinner & reception, flowers, our travel (not guests), and the extras (not sure what those will be yet). I'll update when we have a firmer number...

One more thing to add to the to do before we leave... Good to know, yikes- good thing you caught it before you left! Quote: Originally Posted by A10CALGAL Natalie, I don't believe that is true. Please be aware that in any situation where there might be a medical necessity to cut off or remove a tungsten ring--for instance excessive weight gain, hand injury, etc.,--removing a tungsten ring doesn’t pose much more of a challenge than cutting through a gold or platinum wedding band. In our own jewelry shop, as in many other jewelry shops, we have a cutting tool designed for cutting titanium and tungsten wedding bands. In addition, tungsten bands can be fractured into pieces using vise-grip pliers. When we contacted our local hospital emergency room and asked if they were equipped to remove tungsten wedding bands in an emergency, they told us that most hospital emergency rooms are prepared to handle almost anything, and assured us that it would be no problem for them. During our 30 years of jewelry repair experience, we've only seen a dozen or so rings that have been cut off in hospital emergency rooms, and in most of those cases the rings had been bent out-of-round and were putting painful pressure on the finger. Tungsten rings will not crush or bend out-of-round, so if you shut your hand in a car door or drop a heavy object on it, a tungsten wedding band is likely to fracture into several pieces and fall off your finger freely. You might be safer wearing a tungsten ring than a precious metal band! Nonetheless, check with your local jeweler or medical facility if you have concerns. I did some research on that too. FI & I love Tungsten and I was a littke scared until I found similar info to this... 7. I don't plan to send a separate invitation, but will have the information included on the itinerary I send my guests a couple weeks ahead of time. I want my real invitations to be formal, so I don't want additional enclosures, but I still want some sort of announcement about it ahead of time. I've also been contemplating a bi-monthly newsletter to update people on our progress, keep them excite, and perhaps sway them to actually BOOK A ROOM! Whew! Sorry, don't know what came over me there...
  8. Yay girls! I am so excited to see people branch out on this forum. I was too chicken to do it, so I am so geeked that you are sticking with your original destination! Awesome
  9. Thanks for posting these MariaElena. Another thing I haven't even though of yet...

My dilemma is that, technically, while I'm shadowing people, I should let the team handle this but my gut is DYING to kick in and get everything sewn up with plans out to our clients and the interviews canned before I leave on Wednesday. It's so hard to let things go when you're the one who set the plans in place! I'm sure you could do it better, but sometimes you just have to let others get things done for you. I'm positive that you've done your job well enough that you can just let them fly on their own and keep yourself out of it- you seem like such an "on top of it" person. Woohoo- Cabo or bust!
  11. Thanks for looking into this Kash. I've been meaning to find out what kind of restrictions will be in effect in May- now I know!
  12. Hey Kash! I'm down 3.5 lbs since starting. I didn't lose any this week, but there's no doubt why. I was wayyy over my flex points. I was out of town for three days and pretty much ate nothing but crap. So, back to the strictness this week, I promise! Keep it up, we can do this!
  13. Gorgeous Sarah! Now as soon as you have a pic of you in it we want to see that too! It looks like it would be very slimming
  14. I voted for #4 because I love the embossed palm frond. Those are so pretty, hard choice!
  15. Ann, I obviously haven't done it yet, but I think there were mixed results. There is a lot of info on the old forum with shipping into too, but I think the info on this thread is pretty good: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/f/...light=shipping
  16. Very nice! I like the satin belt and the floaty organza- perfect for the beach. By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
  17. Thanks Tammy! I just wasn't sure how to go about finding out what I can get through her...I wasn't sure what kind of resources she had or how in-depth she would get into decor and stuff for me.
  18. Wow- that looks like so much fun! I was pretty stuck on the DJ idea, but after checking out their website, hmmm...That looks pretty fun! Thanks for the info.
  19. omg don't EVER do that! For my first wedding, I got talked into buying the smaller size since I planned to lose 5lbs and I almost fit into it. Now, mind you at the time I was teeny tiny and that meant buying a 2 instead of a 4- oh how I long for those days! Anyway, I spent the next 8 months freaking out about fitting into my dress and didn't lose the weight, the dress had to be let out. Just buy the bigger dress and have it altered down- way less stress on yourself!
  20. Thanks for the recipes Rebecca, I love the hot dog recipe- "pigs in a blanket" is one of my favorite naughty kid-type foods!

I'm extremely naive when it comes to supplements for dieting...
