Welcome Anna! Wow, more Nov brides! Scott Parsons is marrying us also. What would I have done without the last 10 months of obsessing about what type of flowers to get? Seriously, I sort of wished I had done it all in a month! And honestly, there are so many last minute things I chose, so I do believe it's totally doable. I think latin american culture is last minute anyway!

Hey Stefie_Lynn, We looked into the Caribbean before settling on Mexico. You can probably name a resort and I can tell you the pros and cons of marrying there. Do you have top choices so far?

Definitely count me in!

I think some guys are more open to it than others. To be honest with you, my FI looks so metrosexual, that I thought he'd be all about it. Especially since he went to the "men's day spa". I come to find out that the REAL reason he likes it is that they hand you a beer when you sit down to get your haircut. Hilarious! So the couples massage... definitely schedule one. My FI was skeptical, but I've already had him go to 2 with me, AND we have one scheduled during our honeymoon. So slowly but surely, he's up for it :-)

Hmm.... I have a different opinion than Jenetta. My FI goes to a hair place that is marketed as a men's day spa. They do paraffin waxes in their hands when you get a hair cut, etc... He tells them "no way" on all the frilly stuff. I asked him to try it at least once, and he hated every minute of it. It was just too femenine for him. I have to beg him to let me fix up his nails on his hands once in a while. I honestly think that all the spa treatments may be a waste if he is uncomfortable. Have you asked him how he would feel about them? I honestly wished my FI would get a mani/pedi once in a while, but he flat out refuses to... Now a massage, I say definitely splurge on that one. You can make it a couples massage to make him more comfortable. My FI is slowly coming around to this.

Wow Ylan, you look so gorgeous! I love the coral color throughout the wedding.

Duh, you guys want lillies... sorry, my brain is not working today... This is going to be a LONG day.

Hey Jennifer, My wedding planner is using a flower shop called Rossy. My bouquet is all bright pink calla lilies. I don't know if it's the same type of bouquet as Janet, but for the color to be as bright as pink as I wanted it, they have to paint them. (We'll see how that will turn out.) FYI- When I was trying to get a price for my flowers, they initially quoted me an outrageous price. They were using imported callas. You can also get national callas, which are a bit smaller, and it would be about 1/2 the price. So make sure to ask!

So many places to see... so little time! Oh, coming back preggers would be so wonderful for you!! Now don't put too much pressure on yourself... it will happen when the time is right.

Kash - I'm having a welcome margarita bonfire there on Thursday, Nov 2nd. We have about 30 people that will be there that night. For the bonfire part, we have a $500 minimum bar tab. We are still negotiating the food price, I will let you know what we end up with. So far they quoted me $24 pp for a plated fajita dinner. This includes a tostada for appetizer, the fajitas, and the first drink (soda, water, nat'l beer, or margarita.) I don't know what the a la carte prices are, but I thought this was a bit high. Since we have 30 people, we may end up doing a buffet (they did not want to do a buffet dinner unless it was 30 or more people). I'll let you know when we have everything figured out.

Ha ha, I JUST posted it! I fly back the 12th. I am SO excited, last night I could barely sleep! God help me the day before we leave!! We have MOST of the stuff done, we just need a couple of little things. I made sure to not leave things for the last minute so I would not be stressed.

I actually got the medium ones, for $2 each.... hopefully they will be big enough, but I got 50 of them, so it's already $100 for a send-off.... silly, I know, but I really thought the pics would look amazing! I'm leaving on Wed, Nov 1st. I'm taking the 31st off, so hopefully I'll get to sign in and say good-bye! I guess I should put that on the calendar huh?

I think if you buy them from the website early enough, you can have them shipped to Mexico... you may have to find out if there's some kind of Custom export rule though. Of course, you can't carry them with you on the plane.... same goes for matches! We are having our wedding planner get us some from the fireworks factory there along with matches. They are expensive in Cabo. Small ones around $2 each and bigger ones $2.50 each. I guess you'll have to wait to see the pics

Maria Elena, you are so sweet! Thank you for the well wishes to all the Oct/Nov brides. Hopefully I get to meet you and get to hear about the wedding. I kept thinking about you this past weekend.... I have one more weekend of preparation and I kept thinking you're probably trying to get it ALL done this past weekend. Take care, and can't wait to see all the pics!! OMG... the board is going to be flooded with wedding pics in the next couple of weeks!! How fun!

YEAY!! I bet you feel so much better having decided! That place looks so awesome.... can't wait to hear all about it!

Check out a potential MOH dress
KARLA replied to A10CalGal's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My little sister's bridesmaid dresses were similar, but short. They had the rouched bodice. It was VERY flattering. My older sister had just given birth to her son and the other bridesmaid was uncomfortable wearing any form fitting dresses. This type of dress worked out well for all of us! Great choice -

I tried to discourage our guests from booking through expedia or orbitz for our wedding. Hotels give these bookings a lower priority, so for high season, if the hotel is overbooked, who do you think they'll bump? Hopefully Tammy will read this soon... she's a travel agent that specializes in dest. weddings.... (Tammy, not TammyM that replied above.) She can probably help you and your guests out.
