  2. Hey Ed, All good questions here! You may want to double check, but I bet the bar tab is $56 per person, per hour for a minimum of 3 hours (+ tax and service). If so, off the bat, you're talking around $250 per person (not including taxes and service) for food and the 3 hours of open bar. The food and drink minimums are the amount you pay for the wedding reception. We did the civil ceremony at the courthouse in the U.S. prior to going to Cabo to avoid all the legal stuff. Hope this helps!
  3. Ed, I would keep the bar tab in mind when you are budgeting the wedding. The bar tab alone can be outrageous! I saw that you put a 12k minimum at One and Only. We had drinks there and I think you can EASILY reach that. We had a low priced wine at their bar and it was $24 each glass! What are the per person dinner prices at Esperanza like? To give you an idea, we had our wedding with 40 poeple at a restaruant in Cabo, per person food price was an average of $35, and we had mostly open bar. Our total after DJ, photographer, flowers, etc... was close to 15k. Regarding the activities. There is Cabo Dolphins in the marina. We did this for our honeymoon and I highly recommend it: Swimming with Dolphins at the Cabo Dolphin Center in Los Cabos Jet skiing is everywhere on Medano Beach (in downtown Cabo) or at the Hilton in the corridor.

Oh good... so you were able to get the extra starfish!! Ok, I can stop obsessing about the starfish now Before Natasha and I decided to share the starfish I had considered spray painting 1/2 them in metallic silver or gold paint and mixing that up with the white starfish. I saw something similar to this in ZGallerie, but then I figured that would be just one more project for me to do. So that's another idea!
  5. Hi and Welcome!! That is such a romantic way to re-affirm your commitment to each other. I really hope 18 years from now I'm happily planning something as wonderful as this! I'm thinking vow renewals is the same thing as a symbolic ceremony and you would not need an "official" or a Judge. If so, I think you can just get a minister to oversee the ceremony and the PB Sunset Beach coordinator should have that info. Let us know what you find out and good luck with your planning!

Like I told Christa, anything you run into trouble while doing, don't hesitate to ask before you play around with them too much. No need to figure stuff out when you have other resources here

Like I had to rush home to get all done up again (hair appt, the whole 9 yards). That was a bit annoying. Then I seriously did not even consider that the dress would not fit, so when the hook popped, I was a bit concerned of how I actually LOOKED in the thing. I honestly didn't care until I got there and it just felt weird to be in a wedding gown when it was not my wedding day... you know? Not only that, but Tim's mom told everybody that the party was casual....?? So some people were dressed up, but most just had more casual stuff on. So I felt weird around the people wearing jeans... Still, I have never felt more beautiful than when I wore the wedding gown in Cabo. It was cool to have that feeling again. I pretty much wore the dress for Tim's grandmother, so making her happy definitely made it worth it!

  10. I forgot to add the funniest part! To get ready, Tim had to help me put on the dress. This was after the honeymoon and Thanksgiving.... So he fastens the top hook and POP!! The thing goes flying to the other side of the room! Luckily once it was zipped up and all, it wasn't too tight, but ladies, I learned what the top hook was for.... it keeps the top part of the dress from folding over in a weird way.... oops!
  11. Here are the pictures from our AHR in Austin, TX. I planned zero of it, which made it that much more enjoyable for me! It was a 100% Texas party and 100% for Tim's family. Even though it was not my type of thing, looking through the pics it is obvious how much fun we had! Shutterfly Pro Galleries

  13. I saw this posting and your pics yesterday and I totally forgot to comment. Love the pictures!!!
  14. That's so soon! How exciting for you! Please come back to the forum after you are married and share your pics an how everything went for you. We don't have a lot of experiences from Punta Cana yet, so I'm sure that future Punta Cana brides would love to hear about your wedding... and of course, us too!!
  15. Oh, I see now why Tammy posted her proposal story! Through tears I said "Are you kidding me?!" Immediately after that I said a big YES! But he already knew it was definitely going to be a yes. When we talked about marriage and engagement I made it pretty clear that I would say yes when he got around to asking me. He did not appreciate the lack of mystery in my part, but seriously, it's not like we don't already KNOW we want to marry the guy, right? I always told him that I found it silly when guys that were about to propose would be worried that the girl would say No... I mean, why would you ask somebody to marry you if you are not sure she wants to marry you?? There should be NO doubt on both persons minds that this person is the one they want to marry!! But Natasha... I think it's funny you made him sweat a little bit. In the future, if you have a daughter, you know that's going to be his lesson #1!!! Hilarious!
  16. Oh good, I can't wait! I am going through wedding pic withdrawal!!
  17. Tammy, You do not have to have EVERYTHING figured out right now!! You still have plenty of time... trust me, I setup the beach bonfire dinner when I got to Cabo AND my rehearsal dinner was changed last minute, so it was setup in matter of days!! Take a break, ENJOY the holidays and then get back into wedding planning.
  18. Another Karla!! Welcome!! I got married in Cabo on Nov. 4th. Everybody here is so helpful with location suggestions etc. Just let us know what you're looking for so we can help.
  19. Natalie, Check the sunset time for your wedding date. Sunset time in November differs considerably from sunset time in June. Location Selection for Sunrise Sunset Calendar
  20. It takes forever to write these reviews, so totally understandable timewise! I can't wait to see the pro pics. It is really unfortunate that the hotel did not meet your expectations. I'm glad to hear that it did not detract too much from your wedding day. We were in awe with the old Mexican feel of the place. My hubby even asked why I had not put the hotel in our list of honeymoon spots. And a 2 week honeymoon, wow... I am jealous also!

There are tons of dining options within walking distance on the beach, and downtown is just a $6 cab ride away. The pool and beach areas are great. The spa was beautiful and the gym was great also. Some guests did experience problems with the service. There was one concierge in particular that was downright rude and some of the front desk people were not friendly. Then again, a different concierge would be really great and went out of her way, and some other front desk people were lovely to us.... so it was spotty service. That would be my only concern, but not enough to discourage anybody from going there.

I agree, I was suprised not to be able to book a Queen or King room, but seriously, it was fine. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
