Sex & The City Dress
KARLA replied to Nrvsbride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Anny, that was DEFINITELY the dress... wow, it's skin tight, I forgot how tight it was on her! But wow, she looks SO good!! -
Okay, so I'm obsessed with Belgian chocolate, I'll admit it!! My sister lives in Brussels, so I go once a year. I went to the website and noticed that it was a Leonidas chocolatier. This is pretty good Belgian chocolate, I would say more of average to slightly above average quality. It is still superior to most chocolate I've tasted from other countries though, so still wonderful! This is the "premium chocolatier" we always go to in Brussels, I believe they have a branch in NY city. Pierre Marcolini Chocolatier

Sex & The City Dress
KARLA replied to Nrvsbride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm going to be of absolutely NO help here, but I LOVE that dress also. I know exactly what you're talking about. I kept thinking, that's a nice could be wedding dress! -
What do you want to know from us Married Gals?
KARLA replied to NATASHA's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Natasha, this is such a great thread! Most of the time I just "lurk" around because it's more specific questions like... I'm getting married at X and looking for Y.... Anyway, here is my advice: Quote: Originally Posted by LALA I'll start... In the end, was it all worth it? Was it worth leaving some people out to have a destination wedding? Do you ever wish you had a "traditional" wedding? Before we went to Cabo, I was stressed, worried and overall unsure if it was going to be worth it. I can't stress enough how all the worries went away as soon as I was sitting on the beach and friends from all walks of lives were talking with us and with each other. My siblings live in different cities and it was a great way to have us all together... I probably don't have to tell you how happy my parents were to have us all together! It was great to be able to spend quality time with each of our guests and to have a mini vacation with our families. Quote: Originally Posted by TAMMYM OK MY TURN, MY TURN.. Flute and guitar player (I got a quote from Maye of 300.00 an hour) Marichi band Trio band IPOD, renting a speaker set up. Wow, this is all a matter of taste. The wedding ceremony will probably only be 30 mins (or less) so keep that in mind. If you are having a cocktail hour, then I recommend having any of the above since they will have to be hired for at least one hour. If not, then just do the IPod. We had a classical trio during the ceremony and it was beautiful. I highly recommend it!! I did not have menus, favors, bouquet/garter toss, something blue... am I missing any other tradition? We did a guestbook, but it was actually a Polaroid guestbook. We still look through it, totally recommend it if you are going to have a guestbook. Several of us posted our music list that we gave to the DJs http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t985. He followed our list and added several similar songs. No macarena, no Cotton eye joe... even though we did have the Cotton Eye Joe TWICE at the Austin reception... yes, that's right, not a typo.... TWICE!!! -
YEAY!!! Finally we get to see your pics! Quote: Originally Posted by Nrvsbride Natasha these are great!! You look so beautiful! Nighttime was still warm, I only needed a jacket one of the nights, the other nights we were fine with sleeveless shirts, shorts, etc... The day of my wedding it was breezy yet still very hot under the sun. It was not very humid anymore, but I could tell that the humidity dropped off a bit as the time got closer to Natasha's wedding day. Also you could tell that the breezes were getting a bit cooler as the week progressed. Hope this helps!

Timeshare: Dreams Los Cabos=Club Casa Dorada Beach and Golf
KARLA replied to JPMO's topic in Cabo Accommodation & Site
There is one listing for Dreams timeshare in the vrbo.com website. A couple of our guests used this website for booking in Cabo and it saved them tons of $$. We have also used it to book a house in Lake Tahoe for a ski trip so I can totally recommend this site. Cabo San Lucas Baja Mexico Hotel Resort - Timeshare Optional All Inclus -
Oh no! I'm losing my crown! (Even if it was the honorary MoM) I second the Jackie nomination. She really has done such a great job with the Riviera Maya information!

Sunset Da Mona Lisa IS beautiful... except for the construction. If any of you are looking to have your wedding there, don't hesitate to ask me any questions. Tammy, I'm glad you posted my quote. I just noticed that I had promised pics in the vBPicGallery. I'll try to post those today for you guys to take a look.

Thank you Glenda, you are so sweet. Honestly girls, I would leave this on your list of "nice if I can do it" list.... I'm seriously trying to remember why I thought I had to have programs. I really think that it was just one of those things that took me very little time and I thought it'd be nice to have.... I can't remeber!

Rebecca, we'll have to hold each other to our back in shape plan! <- That's me doing jumping jacks... I wished those counted!

Here's my Program templates. Feel free to copy, etc.... I have another doc Program1.doc that I did not attach that was simply the cover on vellum. Program2.doc

I printed our return address on the small RSVP envelopes. It is doable, but just make sure you have TONS extra for mess ups. I had to scrap between 10-15 envelopes because the small size does not feed through the printer as easily as the bigger size envelopes, so the print was coming out all crooked. My advice is to be patient and do batches of no more than 5 at a time when you do the envelopes. Let us know how it goes!

The holidays are just tough!! I honestly can't wait until your wedding. It's so fun to hear all the plans! Jenetta, you're cracking me up. You're so very welcome! It was really fun to shop for you. I got an idea of your taste from the postings on the forum.

Ann, I know you said you came to Raleigh often. If you ever venture out of the RTP area, there is a Swoozies store in Triangle Towne Center Mall in the North part of Raleigh. It's about 25-30 mins away from RTP right from 540 (off 40). If you haven't noticed, everything is about 20-30 mins away in Raleigh area.

I actually eat strawberry jam/preserves all the time. I'm really picky about breakfast and I only like strawberry smoothies or waffles with strawberry jelly or jam and PB. And strawberry is the only flavor I really like! So thank you so much!! DIET?? Ha, thanks for reminding me I had one! All I've been doing is eating lately and no gym.... yikes! <- That was me with a jumbo tub at the movies last night!

Cute little starfish for decorations
KARLA replied to LCBride2007's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Here you go! U.S. Shell, Inc. -
I finally opened my gift!! I got a jar of homemade strawberry preserves and a really nice candle. Thanks to my Secret Santa!! So I was trying to gess who my SS was.... Tammy, was it you? (Actually, that was my hubby's guess.) How are we revealing the SS mystery? By the way, I saw that my SS opened my gift already. Did you open the card already? (Which would give my identity away)

Cute little starfish for decorations
KARLA replied to LCBride2007's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Yikes Tammy $5?? That's way too much!! Even though we got them from a shell website that you had to buy them in bulk, $50 minimum. For the small amount of people you have attending your wedding, it may be more economical for you to get them from Maye though. Does anybody need the link to the shell website? -
Welcome Glenda, Have you narrowed down your search to any hotels/sites in particular? Do you have a budget? There are tons of us Cabo brides here, you've come to the right place!

Custom Coozies/Koozies
KARLA replied to A10CalGal's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Both Rebecca and I used this vendor for the Koozies. I think it was back on the old forum that we posted all about it though.... I highly recommend them also! I'm not sure if I have a pic of ours.... I'll go look for one, they are funny! -
