Have I missed the photos I'm waiting ever so patiently to see them. I keep checking Juan's site, but haven't seen anything new.

As much as I really don't want to do anything while we are there before the wedding but lay by the pool, I've had some people ask if we are going to do planned excursions for the group. Jay wants to take the boys fishing - any good recommendations?? As for the girls, the spa thing isn't going to work, so I was thinking about maybe a snorkeling excursion or something? Anybody have any great ideas? People are planning some things on their own, like the zipline thing.

UGH! The smell is back? I thought they had fixed that problem. Hopefully it'll be gone come June. We've requested the "Mexican restaurant" side, so hopefully that's the Eastern side.

Hoping somebody here can help with this answer... I have no idea what she's talking about. One of my guests sent me the following question today: "DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW IF WE ARE GOING TO NEED THE SHORT FORM OR THE LONG FORM FOR OUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE? THE LADY AT THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT DID NOT KNOW AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT PROBATE...............THE LADY AT PROBATE TOLD ME THAT YOU COULD GET ONE WITH A MARRAIGE CERTIFICATE..........THAT SOUNDS CRAZY BECAUSE I KNOW IT HAS TO BE YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE.....SO AS YOU CAN SEE NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING................CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE.....THANK YOU!" I think she is asking if you can get the passport with the marriage certificate, but I'm not sure. I've sent an email back to her, but haven't gotten a reply yet.

From previous posts, you might know that I scrapbook, anyway, I was picking up an album this afternoon from my CM lady, and what did she have laying on her table - YUP! A new photobook (they call it Storybook) - She said that it's not available until 11/01, but I did thumb through her sample and it seemed pretty nice. It had stitch binding, not glue which I that was kind of nice. The sample was a small one - 8x8, the other size is 11x8.5. Granted, I haven't seen others, so I have nothing to go off of, but. Prices will start at $39.95, the software to make it is free, and there are templates and things that you can customize. As soon as I know more, if interested, I can let you all know. Don't know how that pricing compares. (I am not a CMC - just always been pleased with their products)

This is the information that I received Friday night from Adriana, the new WC at the RIU. I thought it might give some of the other RIU brides an idea of what the extras (firepit, dj, mariachi, flowers) cost. Hello RIU Brides, Just wanted to let everybody know that I finally heard from Adriana, the new WC at the RIU. I had been emailing them, and had my TA and Tammy (Thanks Tammy) talk to them too... Anyway, I called down there on Thursday afternoon, and spoke with somebody who listen to me ramble for about 20 minutes, only to tell me that Adriana wasn't available, but she would call me back. Friday night around 9:30 Eastern, our phone rang and it was Adriana. She apologized for the delay in answering my emails, (apparently, they came across with nothing on them), she answered my questions over the phone, and I also asked for an email reply with all my answers. Before we hung up, I had an email from her. She sent me updated pricing (for the firepit, appetizers, and all the "stuff") and also sent me some photos of the RIU setups - most of which have been posted on here. Anyway, I really think that she is going to be great, she seems to be right now anyway. So if you are waiting for a reply, give it a day or send it again. And I found out, there is 1 other wedding on my day - their wedding is at 4PM, and mine is set for 6. I really wanted to be the only bride, but............

I'm searching for cups/tumblers (say 16oz or maybe a little larger) that you can get custom printed for our OOT bags... Anybody have any good leads? I've googled, and asked around but want to be sure I'm getting a quality product. TIA!

Ok, I'm probably stressing over NOTHING, but.... Do I really HAVE TO SEND formal invitations, yes, I will to the people who I know are coming, but at this point even 8 months out, we know who is and who isn't coming to Cabo. Can I just send an announcement after we get back? We aren't having an AHR, so I'm getting so confused.

Where to begin (sorry it got really long) Let's start WAY at the beginning..... Our first day was on Friday, March 13, 1992.... We both worked at Ames (it's like a really cheesy Wal-Mart) in High School (I was a senior, Jason a junior) and that is where we met. I had a boyfriend at the time but Jason swept me off my feet (and he had a convertible I wanted to ride in).... Anyway, fast forward a few years - and trying the long distance relationship things and finally the Tuesday before Christmas 1998, we got hammered on a 5th of Tequilla, and I told him that if he wanted me in his life, I had to move to Charlotte to be with him. I moved to Charlotte in June 1999, and we've lived together ever since.... We are quite happy in our "living in sin" and everybody jokes with Jay because he said he'd never get married - and I was OK with that (but dying inside every little girl wants to be a bride)... The Engagement Story: I had went to Bunco (it's a dice game) on Monday night, May 22, 2006. I usually get home around 9:30 PM, and he knows that I always check my email before I go to bed. For some reason that night I did not. When I awoke Tuesday morning after letting Milo (our furbaby) outside I decided to check my email. Waiting for me was an Itinerary for a vacation to Cabo San Lucas for June 15, 2006. He totally SURPRISED me with a vacation - I couldn't believe it... On our first flight from Charlotte to Houston, we had to take a little puddle jumper, and he seemed awful strange when they made us check our carry-ons right on the ramp to the plan. I didn't like it either, but, what can you do We fly from Houston to Cabo, and of course I grab both of our carry ons becuase well, they're lighter than the luggage. What happens - Of course I get the RED light for my bags (and his bag with my ring inside to be searched...) He pushes me totally out of the way screaming "NOOOOO, I'll do that" that entire time. Still not sinking in to me what's going on.... We just lounge around Thursday afternoon, no big thing. Friday, we were catching some sun and have some drinks out by the pool bar when Jason asked me if I wanted to go for a walk out on the beach, of course I said yes. So we ran up to our room, I put on some flip flops, and wondered what was taking him so long to get ready... We went down to the beach in front of the RIU, and started walking to where there was nobody around, I thought just to have some time to ourselves... We stood out on the beach for probably 15 minutes just chatting. And then, Jason turned to me and he said "There are many things I've waited to long to do", and then he got down on one knee right there in the sand, and asked me to marry him. After my shock, and taking 15 steps backwards, I said YES!!!! As he put the ring on my finger, he told me how much he loved me and I told him the same. After the hugging and kissing and all the lovey stuff, I looked at him dead serious and said - I have two questions 1.) Are we really getting married, or did I get a ring to shut me up?? and 2.) Who knows? The answer to the first question was - Yes, we are really getting married. The answer to the second was - Only your (meaning my) dad knows. The tradional Italian came out in my loving fiance and he actually called my dad to ask him for his blessing how sweet is that? The one part that I can't remember when it happened was actually about my ring, I've always wanted a pear shaped diamond, and that's what he got me. He said to me "see, I listen, it's a pear".. I just thought it was sweet becuase he actually listened, and we hadn't talked engagement/marriage in forever..... He picked the center stone by itself, and then the setting. And I have to say he did a wonderful job. But then again, he's a wonderful man... (Can you see me smiling)

Hey! Welcome back & Congrats again! I'm so glad that everythign turned out as well as it did for you - I can't believe you had 3 weddings on your day.... YIKES! We've already upgraded ourselves to the big suite with the stairs and jacuzzi upstairs - so we'll ahve to try and get some of that back... I can't wait to see you pictures!
