My first foster we had to put down was extremly hard, she was a senior around 10-12 years old, had just about everything wrong with her that you can think of, but she was the most loving, loyal dog you could ever ask for. Sadly her heart murmur meds were slowly doing allot of damage to her kidney and one morning we just knew by the way she was acting that she was in pain and she needed help crossing over. She made it past our wedding (so we had her a year) and he passed 2 weeks after we got back from Cabo. I'll NEVER forget that sweet little girl.
With this last foster, well as hard as it is to put a dog down.. You just can't allow them to suffer in pain. He was in horrible health and only got about 5-10% oxgen everytime he breathed in. were just sad that we couldn't have gotten him sooner, because the heartworms at the stage they were at, would have taken a year to get that bad. But the good news is that we think we found the owners of him, and we are going to try to press charges. Not sure if it will hold up, but it's worth a shot.
