  1. Sounds great Alyssa, glad everything worked out and it sounds like you got some awesome gifts.
  2. Well she told me that her DH's aunt owns a home on two of the islands and that they would stay there, and they would visit just two islands. OH and she said they would go for 10-12 days. I still think she is crazy, they are very laid back people, not really into sight seeing, just lounge by the pool type people so I don't see them spending that kind of money, Shoot Cain and I are always out doing stuff and I can't see us spending that kind of money. Oh I should also mention his aunt is cheap, meaning if she had her way she would have 10 people in one 2 bedroom room to save money, so no four season place for her.
  3. Please settle a dispute for me. I have been talking to Cains Aunt and her and her DH is planning on going to Hawaii for their 5 year anniversary (in 4 years) they said they need to save up 10k for the trip for a week. In my eyes that is way too much for a trip to Hawaii. If you have been to Hawaii recently or planning on getting married there, how much do you think it would cost? Granted we are from Michigan so I'm sure airfare would be more then say someone who lives in California.
  4. IMO if you are paying for a petsitting service, no tip is required unless they go above and beyond of what you expect. IE you come home and the dogs had a fresh bath and is groomed. Or if the pet sitter is staying at your house, they clean up for you while you are gone. What about you just give them their flat rate and buy them a little something from your trip?
  5. smooth sailing from here Christine.. eek I can wait to finally see pictures of your baby.
  6. Happy Birthday Sarah. Hopefully for your birthday you have a day without feeling sick and you'll get a chance to just enjoy your day.
  7. Lisa the good thing is that it's Friday and you'll have the whole weekend off and the day is about 1/2 over for you. Hang in there.
  8. I actually took a couple free online courses, but I'm a more hands on person. So I'd really like to attend an actual class. I know the place I got my camera from holds classes on the actual camera and teaching you about lighting and such. After I take that then I'm going to head to a local community college and take some photoshop courses. I think this "should" give me a good base, I'd love to find a local photographer that can mentor me. But we'll see how things goes as time passes. So is that online course, is it pretty much an assignment and you go out and try to capture whatever it is and then post to get feed back on? (hmm I suppose I can just click the link and find out, huh. lol)

I really like that effect. THanks, Yeah I really need to get my lazy butt in gear and start taking some actual classes. The border is called Vignette (? spelling) and I just adjusted the strength and thickness to it.

What type of camera do you have? Thanks, I have a Sony Alpha DSLR, I've had the camera for a year now but I'm already thinking about upgrading it to their 700, but that won't be anytime soon since it's pretty expensive, and l just having fun right now, that camera is for the pro's.

Oh well, I know I have a ways to go but it's fun trying. :-)

As you can imagine this is very dangerous and has a high risk of infection and of course it must hurt like H*ll..
  23. ***Quick update on Beate' *** She is doing better, they want to keep her for one more night. They want to get her stable and then send her back to her foster home to let her grow a little more. They would like to get her to 8 to 10 weeks because she is so small. So we have time to raise money for her surgery. Beate needs our prayers for sure. Thanks all.
  24. I already sent the founder of the rescue group an email and told her I made this post. Regardless if you posted the name and forum, I''m sure all the money will be used for this little girll right now, since we don't have any other major medical issues with any of our other fosters.

Actually about a year ago we had a samilar situation with an older pup (around 8 months old) She actually had the surgery and made a full recovery, the only thing the forever home needed to do is whip the bum every time they went potty (with a baby wipe) I guess they are more prone to an infection if not properly cleaned. But over all she is doing awesome.
