  2. Jackie when the heck are you going to be getting your pics from Juan? OMG I check every day to see if you posted them. lol
  3. Hey ladies & gents, It's that time of the month again, to start a new siggy challenge. I thought that since Summer is almost over, that it might be fitting to see some pictures of the highlights of your summer, IE, wedding, engagement party, AHR, a family trip, or your new baby. Let's title it "Summer 2008".
  4. I had a very small wedding, only 6 guests. I hired my photographer for 3 hours and let me tell you it was very rushed and I wished I had hired him longer. We did a couple shoot before the wedding and then after, I didn't have time to do getting ready shots and he only took pictures of the cakes and the toast. IMO I would go no less then 4 hours and keep in mind that your still going to fell rushed. If you want either getting ready or reception pics then I would say between 4-5 hours. OH BTW for the 3 hours I hired Juan, I had almost 700 pictures. Their is no way of knowing how many pictures you'll get. Each photographer shoots a little different then the next.
  5. I used him and he's worth every dime.. He's very personable, and will go above and beyond to get a great shot.
  6. Thanks Mel.. Ya know I have been debating getting one printed, but I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm also mad at myself for not taking pics of his paws, I thought about that this morning. Would have been a cute picture.
  7. Maura you were so beautiful and looked so happy. Everything turned out great. Congrats again.

  9. What about a Boston Terrier, their like minature boxers.. :-) I would also suggest rescue, since you'll know the temperament of the dog and know if your getting a hyper one or a moderate.

And your camera skills get better every day! You need to open a pet photography studio! ha ha, well I'm not fostering this puppy, so that helps. :-) Thank you for your kind words. Each photo session I do, I'm learning what things I need to work on. so it's helping me.
  13. Take a big deep breath in, can you smell that? It's puppy breath.. :-) Yesterday I went to visit a puppy that DH's aunt is fostering.. Oh how I miss puppy breath.. These are just a few... Isn't he so freakin adorable?
  14. From a personal stand point if you don't know how to edit pictures then I would choose to get the high resolution CD. Some photographers may offer the low resolution to keep the prices down and editing pictures could take a long time depending on what they do. Also a thing to think about, is the photographer offering some prints in his/her package? If not and you get the low resolution CD then you'll be forced to order the prints through them and probably at a much higher rate then what you would pay through say MPix..

Um, and can I just say that you pup is so precious! Awe thanks... Nope not a pro yet, working on it. Right now I'm just taking pictures to raise money for the rescue groups I belong with. But hopefully one day... Quote: Originally Posted by jpitts78 Great pics. heehee... I love pet pics. What kind of camera did you use? I'm on the hunt for a new camera. I have a Sony Alpha DSLR. I know many people prefer the nikon and Canon SLR cameras but I have to admit I like my Sony. But over all I think any of those three would be a good choice.

I still need to register my business name, make business cards, fix a few things on my blog and iron out a few more details but hopefully soon I'll start taking on clients. I'm going to be doing a photo shoot of Cain's Ma and her other dog "Rocky" (Yorkie) soon. So who knows really, still have a lot to do but in the mean time just trying to get more experience.
  18. Cain humored me yesterday and let me take pictures of him with his fur-brother "Big Al" (his Ma's dog) Here are a few of my favorites: And the swan I took while we were out...

Yeap, that's Morris. He is such a good cat and let me take pictures of him.. Of course it wasn't too long before he started licking himself.. lol
  22. Hey Jay, I haven't used the tripod yet, I was trying to catch a bug and the only bug I found on a flower, the pics turned out super dark and I ended up having my ISO too high and it had way too much noise. I did have my setting on AP, but I think the problem I was having is the ones that were good Aperture I ended up having bad lighting, so it was like I was battling between the two settings. I was debating using a flash but I think it would have over exposed the pics. Hmmm maybe I was shooting at the wrong time of day, maybe the sun was too harsh and was effecting my pictures?? Maybe you and Karen need to take a trip to MI and we can do some photo shooting together. :-) Yeah that sounds like a plan, go ahead and set that up.. lol
  23. Thanks Rebecca. BTW I miss our daily emails, you need to hurry back from AZ.. :-)
  24. OK, I re-attached #'s 2 & 3, hopefully that worked and you guys can see them now. Thanks for the comments guys. I also edited out his eye boogies out of a couple of the pictures. I need to do that to all of them.. :-)
