  1. Thanks for your review, I'll have to keep that in mind when he takes our wedding pictures. I'm still worried that I haven't booked enough time with him. We don't care to have "before pictures" but we also don't want to run out of time.. Maybe I'll add a half hour just to be safe..
  2. Great tips Tammy.. Now if someone could give me a tip on how to "not" break out in hives from being nervous I would be all set.. :-)
  3. Thanks Tammy.. And congrats MM..

    I'm a Newbie!!!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Be sure to shout out if you have any questions, this board has been a life saver for me..
  5. I read the same thing, there was even pictures posted of the cake she did.. I would be SO mad if that was my cake.
  6. Well were having a small wedding 12 people tops, and I've budgeted 10k for the entire wedding, dress, flight, rings and everything else.. Flight: $1000 Hotel Room: $900 Flowers: $100 Wedding Dinner $900 Cake: $250 Invites: $60 (I made them myself) Coordinator Fee: $1400 Photography & Video: $800 So far I'm right on tract, but you know how that goes, I'm still 8 months out.
  7. Hmm our wedding coordinator said ours should be done in 3 days. However she did mention that depending on the time of year it could take as long as 3 weeks.
  8. Tammy, that is very cute.. I trying to find a corset with matching undies to wear under my dress so that will probably be my wedding night attire. :-)
  9. Are you planning on having a legal ceremony or are you getting married in the states?
  10. Thanks, I just sent you a PM with my email address.
  11. OK, it was posted by Rebecca.. here is the one I was thinking of. Hope it helps. ************* Hi Ladies, I think I am going to ship a box of stuff to Mexico prior to the wedding. I have heard the risks about shipping to Mexico, so, I called DHL the other day to get specific instructions. She told me that Mexico is tricky and have a lot of funky rules & regulations. Probably why some stuff never makes it. They have weird rules about shipping clothes or fabric, etc. She told me that when I fill out the commerical Invoice to list EVERY item with, quantities, a detailed description, cost and (**IMPORTANT**) make sure to write at the bottom "No Commerical Value" For Custom Purposes Only" Gifts for Wedding guests Not For Resale (and then put your contact information) She also told me to have a contact name on the label (I am going to ship to Mariana at Dreams and send her an e-mail that it is coming) and she said to allow at least 5 days. I am going to allow 3 weeks, since I'm paranoid I am going to use my company account number and reimburse them. That will give me a big discount. I got an estimate from DHL and one big box weighing 10lbs with insurance was around $200 from Orange County to Cabo.
  12. Hmm I know their was a thread started in the old forum on how to ship something to mexico and having it actually "get" there. I've only heard about people not receiving the stuff they shipped or it arrived a month after they were gone. Let me see if I can dig up the old thread..
  13. Hello everyone, I need some help. I'd really like to wear a corset top for under my dress, however the bridal salon said it will show a line at the bottom. I really need hike the babies up. Can you guys recommend anything?
  14. HOLLY COW.. that's high. What makes her so great that she charges those rates?
  15. Awe, that's a great story. And you guys look so happy together.
  16. I don't want flowers on the canopy, I was just thinking a fabric maybe light ivory or olive green draped over it.

Was their a delivery fee or was it included? WIP marks things up so freakin high that I use them at a pricing point and "hope" to find it myself for cheaper, if all else fails I book through them.
  18. I like the idea. HOWEVER, actully cupcakes can be more money depending on the design you choose. You have to remember they would have to cut and decorate several cakes versus just one. So overall you could spend more money. If the Hilton charges a cake cutting fee then it may even out in the end.
  19. I've also been going back and forth on rather or not to get an eternity band. Here are my thoughts. With a 1/2 band coverd in diamonds, you have the option to engrave your ring, which could be nice. However with the eternity band you won't have to worry about the band turning all the time and fixing it to match your ring. Right now I'm leaning towards the eternity band, my FI and I do alot of outdoor sports so want a ring that will look nice by it's self because I won't be wearing my E-ring for most of these sports (IE, snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking) But again, the only reason I haven't made my mind up 100% is because I really like the fact that the other option allows us to engrave.. OK I know I'm not helpful.. I think I just confused myself again.. lol
  20. OK so I finally heard back from our wedding coordinator she quoted me $133.00 for: 7 green cymbidium orchids @$12 each = $84 3 Ivory roses @ $4 each + $12 Fee for making bouquet = $25 Single white cymbidium orchid for hair = $12 Total = $133 I also asked her about their pricing for a canopy rental and she said "They usually start at around $300 plus delivery" For those of you who have already priced out canopies and flowers does these prices seem high or about right?

    Cabo Bride!

Welcome to the board. I'm getting married in June 07, on Pedregal beach. I heard it's very pretty there. As you already know, this board will help you out a ton in your planning. Just ask away.

  24. I feel your pain, both my parents won't be coming to our wedding. BUT I wouldn't have my Dad walk me down the isle even if he was there. So I'll be walking by myself, with my sights set on my soon to be hubby.. :-) Have someone who means the most to you walk you down the isle, regardless if their family or not, mother or father, whatever. To me it's a privledge not a right. I'm sure in the end it will all work out.
