  1. I'm seriously in shock about how much everyone's points have jumped up since last week.. I just can't seem to win the darn thing..
  2. OMG, so as most of you know I returned from Cabo early Friday morning. Well last night was the first chance I had to sit down with Cain and go over everything that we did in Cabo and show him the pictures. I was telling him how much I loved the Sheraton and that I thought it was perfect for us. So I continue to show him pictures of resorts, and beaches and were now on Melia San Lucas, he said "there, that's where I want to get married" I explained to him that it's a public beach and one of the only few that allows you to swim in so the beach area is really busy. He said he loves the rock formation background and wants that for our ceremony. I think Melia San Lucas is an amazing resort, very pretty. BUT I just don't think it's too busy for a beach ceremony. So now I feel like this whole trip to Cabo was worthless and I'm back to square one. I'm lost, I have NO clue where to go from here. I'm trying SOOOO hard to accommodate his wants but at the same time it just makes things harder on me. I tried to explain to him that it's a waste of time to travel all over Cabo to take pictures in one place, get married in another, have our dinner in a different location and then have a club type place to go to afterwards. But all he says is, "I just like those rocks in the background and is there another place that has them that's on a quieter beach?" So girls, I plead for your help. Since most of you have been in Cabo, can anyone come up with any good ideas for us? Does the beaches empty out at a certain time of the day to where if we had it at the Melia that we wouldn't have a problem? BTW, this wedding is going to be the death of me,, I swear..
  3. Tammy without this forum I would be LOST... Seriously.. This by far exceeds any other board I have found, so like Jackie said, if we can help others in their planning I'm happy to make their lives a little less stressful.

Do you think that will ruin the special day at all? Due to a fairly tight budget, we won't be inviting that many people. Just immediate family and close friends...probably around 20 people. But, we plan on have the whole gang for a party when we get back-around 150 people. I looked at Pedregal Beach, and it looked pretty online, but then again, doesn't everything? Were you disappointed when you saw it? My fiance's family owns a timeshare at Pueblo Bonito, so it just made since to plan it there. I've never been though. What will your wedding be like? BTW-You're a really cute couple! I'll get a pic of John and I up here soon... Pedregal Beach is really pretty, but really hard to get to as most places in cabo most things are poorly marked and it takes a couple of days just to figure out where things are. I know many brides on here who get married in the states before their cabo wedding and they said it doesn't take away from their Cabo wedding at all. We choose to have a real legal wedding in Cabo because in our mind we always wanted it to be legal in Cabo. Our friend had a timeshare as well that we purchased from him for Villa Del Palmar so were staying there, but for our wedding night were staying at the Sheraton and having our wedding ceremony on their beach and dinner there. I kind of wanted our ceremony and dinner to be at a different location then where everyone was staying so that it's new and exciting for everyone. (I know I'm a big dork..lol) Are you planning on hiring a wedding coordinator? If your having a non-legal wedding it would be pretty easy (with the help of this board) to plan it on your own, that way you can save money there. If I weren't doing a legal wedding I wouldn't have hired a WC. Please feel free to ask questions, you'll learn a great deal from the ladies on this forum.

  7. Shannon, I LOVE the Sheraton. I just got back from Cabo on Friday, and originally I wanted to be married on Pedregal beach, but after visiting the Sheraton I changed it to there. They have to restaurants that would be great for a dinner / reception. De Cortez and Pitahayas, both are located right next to the beach with lights shining on the water (very pretty) De Cortez is a little bit more money and slower service but I absolutely love the restaurant. Pitahayas, the service was fast and the food was great as well. You really can't go wrong with either place. I'm having a small wedding, about 10 or so people so I asked both places if their menu was flexible (I wanted our guests to pick from their actual dinner menu) and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Both places said it was ok to bring in your own cake (but they can make the cake as well) I have pricing for both places if your interested. I also have some pics, but I suck at taking pictures so I'm sure you can find better ones online.. lol Please let me know if you have any questions.
  8. OMG Jackie, Pottery barn is one of my favorite stores. :-) I could go broke in there in a matter of minutes.. lol
  9. Oh wow, very close. Have you started you dress shopping yet?
  10. That looks really pretty Jackie. It looks like it's right on ocean side, which I love.
  11. I'm having a brain fart.. :-) when do we get notified of who we are going to purchase a gift for? Does anyone remember?
  12. Hi welcome to the board. Are you planning on having a legal wedding in Cabo? How many quests are you expecting? Were getting married on June 5th, and orginally planned to be wed on Pedregal Beach but since the site visit we moved it to the Sheraton. Please let me know if you have any questinos.
  13. Janet great pictures, I do love that beach.. Some of those pictures are just too funny, looks like you guys had a great time.
  14. Congrat's Carol. BTW where are you in Michigan? I live in the Novi/wolverine Lake area. I was engaged before I actually got my ring so I know how it was planning a wedding before we told anyone. lol.. BTW Cain and I are getting married on our anniversary (June 5) and at that time it will be 3 years.

I can't decide, I really wish I was able to meet with her. I'm leaning towards Maye because she said we can do our own vows during the ceremony, we can do a blending of the sands and we can get our blood work stuff done before we get there. When I spoke to Rosy about all the legal stuff it sounded that she just may not have as much experience with it. Maybe I'll plan a phone meeting with Rosy before I hire Maye. She is very responsive to my emails which I like.

OMG she drove me nuts at times she was stressing out yesterday morning before our flight about hurring up to eat breakfast so that we can leave for the airport, I turned to her and said "Marty we have over 5 hours before our plane is suppose to leave, we have plently of time". Cain and I are suppose to work a pet expo all weekend (he's their now working) and he said I should just go home and relax after work but to be honest with you guys, I need a break from his Ma so after work I'll be up there working (but oh how I would love to lay around and relax at home, but I know that wan't happen with her) I told Jill, (WIP) basically she sucked being a WC and that I was going to give her a bad review on this forum. OH on our way back to the airport yesterday we stopped for gas and we noticed a very thin (all his bones were showing) dog. my heart hit the floor. Poor things eyes were glazed over, he could barly walk and his tail was between his legs, his nails were so over grown. So I went into the store at the gas station and purchased his some food, and he just looked up at me and his tail started to wag.. I wanted to take him home so badly because you can tell he's probably only going to live another day or so. It breaks my heart that Cabo is actually a very poor area and that it's not like the US where people will take care of these dogs, people were looking at me like I was crazy buying him food. But what kind of person would I be if I left him there to die. Granted he will probably still pass away if he hasn't already but at least he had one good last meal to eat. Ok,, no I'm going to start crying, he just broke my heart having to leave him there. :-(((((

I HATED driving in Mexico, the road signs sucks and it took forever to find just about anything. So when I was meeting with Maye C. I asked her about Pedregal and she said she would take me there but she didn't even know exactly how to get there and that it was really confusing and she wasn't sure if we would even be allowed on the beach. So I thought I didn't want my guests to get lost to our ceremony so I'm now going to have our ceremony at the Sheraton on the beach.
  18. Janet, great review. I went to the Cabo surf on Wednesday and it's such a cute little resort. I think it's great for a smally family to take over or if a couple just wants to get away for a few nights to surf. I'm happy to hear that everything went well for you (well except for the hair situation but it still looked great)
  19. Alamo car rental: C- OMG that car was a piece of crap. It had a really bad ticking sounds, the muffler was hitting the ground and scraping it and the inside door step pad on the passenger side kept falling off. Seriously I thought the car was going to fall apart or stall out at any given moment. Sheraton: A+ Gorgeous resort, the staff was so nice and helpful. The concierge actually escorted one of our appointments to the Tomatoes restaurant because we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and they arrived before our bill came. The rooms were nice, however we did have to switch rooms, we were located in the main building and one of the beds had small ants by the patio door wall I thought at first maybe we carried them in from the beach, so we killed them and left for our next appointment and after we returned we seen several more so after calling for someone to check the room out and no one showing up (called them twice) we packed up our stuff and asked for a new room. The new room was located in a different building and was fine. * De Cortez: A+ Food was awesome, took a little long for them to bring out our food (and it was a very slow night) the wait staff was very friendly and at night the place is just beautiful. * Pitahayas: A+ Food again was great, we were served very quickly and the restaurant was almost full. To get married on the beach at the Sheraton in front of De Cortez we were quoted $300.00 (for our party of around 10) which would include chairs, chair covers, tiki torches and a table for signing of marriage license. To get married in front of Pitahayas restaurant there is no charge since it's not attached to the resort but you have to eat dinner there. Their is a fee to rent chairs, covers and anything else you may need. They also have a Chapel for those of you who may want to get married in one, it was very pretty (attached to the main building to the left of the lobby) No cross, but they said it could be rented if you so choose. Hilton: A+ The resort was beautiful, and the rooms were very nice. Comparable to the Sheraton and the are priced pretty well for having a ceremony there. Since were looking for a beach wedding we liked the beach better at the Sheraton, but the Hilton was still very nice. Melia San Lucas: A- VERY hard to get to, we passed it 3 times before finally finding it. They are building a new resort right next door so when we went is was pretty loud with construction. The resort itself was AMAZING, contemporary design and all new. and the view was equally amazing. This would be a great resort for the 20-30's crowd. I would not recommend having your wedding here but a welcome dinner or just a night out on the weekend would be a lot of fun. This is also a great resort for single people. Villa Del Palmar: B This would be a great resort for a family, or 20-30 year olds. The rooms I would give a "C" but they have a full kitchen which could help people save money on eating out all the time. I would not recommend this resort for a wedding. Cabo Surf: A- The only reason I gave it a A-, is because it's a small resort and away from everything. This resort would be perfect for a small group where everyone enjoys to surf, as their isn't much more to do there. But that's part of a small resort. Very cozy.. Rosy from Lovely Weddings: Well, I was very disappointed, as she never showed up for our meeting. We were in constant contact before the site visit and I had mentioned to her a few times where we were staying at the time of our meeting. And she never showed. I found out today (she sent me an email while I was in Cabo) that she went to a different resort and couldn't get a hold of me. Wedding In Paradise: D As most of you know, I had originally hired them for our wedding, but they have now been released from our contract. Deena from Sweet Dreams: A+ She is so nice, and a pleasure to talk to. she made an individual wedding cakes for us to taste and we talked about designs and she is really helpful in working with your ideas and giving her feedback on what she thinks will and will not work. The price of an individual wedding cakes are 15-25 per cake. So for a large wedding I wouldn't recommend but for a smaller one I think its a great idea.
