  1. OMG, Juan I love your work... I know everyone always tells you that but really each time you do a new shoot your pictures get better and better. I'm a super anal person, who wants things done a certain way, but, I TRUST you, and I want you to feel free to be creative. I really love how you capture the love between two people. OMG, I think I'm getting just as excited about marrying my sweet heart as I'am you doing our wedding pictures. Great job...
  2. Thanks girls for all your suggestions. Jilly, I'd love to see the pic your referring to. I'd like to do flowers, but one rose is 5.00 and each Orchid is about 12.00 each so as you can imagine it would get really expensive quick. Plus right now each cake is going to be about $16.00.
  3. Thanks Sarah.. Yeah after I thought about what Tammy said about the frames being messy in the cake, I think I'll have to figure something else out. I think I may just end up doing the orginal plan of two candy shells on the top of the cake (in white) and one on the side (white) sitting on sand (aka sugar) with a few pearls here and there. But I really do like those place cards,,, hmm I'll have to think about this whole idea more..
  4. Cool, I know Maye uses another vendor in San Jose as well. I wonder if their the same..
  5. Deena from Sweet Dreams in Cabo makes them. I'm sure if you check with a baker in the RM area they can make some up for you.

Fondant is NOT tasty. The Candy shells was actually our orginally idea, but with a chocolate cake and white seashells I'm just not sure how it would look.. I've never tasted Fondant,, It's not good huh?
  7. Hmm,, Tammy you gave me some stuff to think about. I heard that Fondent (? spelling) is good for outdoor weddings, so I heard it won't melt. (not sure if that is true) BUT, I didn't think of the frames being sticky and with chocolate on them. Hmm I would almost have to supply something to "clean" them off so that they wouldn't be. Here is a picture of what it "could" look like at the tables.
  8. This is actually the frame I was thinking about using.. Since my dress is Ivory..
  9. Actually Jackie they have the frame if Ivory and blue, I like the Ivory better I just used the wrong photo and it was too much work to change it.. lol Also the size of the frame is bigger then what it will actually be. It's a 2 x 3 frame, (just the right size for the place card) And the paper inside the frame I would probably do a DIY think to use our colors or something..
  10. Were having a small wedding and we weren't planning on anything other then the wedding and wedding dinner. I'm sure we will all go out to a club the night we get into cabo but it's "every man for him/her self"
  11. OK girls, here is a very sad attempt to create the look I'm going for. Now as you can tell I'm not good at this sort of thing. :-) This is very "raw", I was thinking about adding a candy shell to the top of the cake too (small one) and the cake it's self would sit on brown suger that looks like sand. Again these are individual cakes.. PLEASE be honest about if you like them..
  12. Jackie that is very pretty. Cain's grandma passed away a couple of years ago of cancer and his aunt is getting married a month before us, she plans on doing something at her wedding to honor her mother. She plans on setting a seat out for her, she is going to take one rose out of her bouquet and place it on her chair, they are doing a moment of silence to honor her.
  13. Hmm I'll have to ask her. I know she has been having computer problems and so it's been hard to get ahold of her.. I'll have to see. OR I can see if one of my graphic designer friends can work their magic and see if they can come up with something.

  15. Come on, were are my creative girls? OK so here is an idea I came up with. I was thinking doing half of the cakes with buttercream icing and the other half with either fondent or ganache. For the cake topper on each cake I was thinking maybe a small picture frame place holder so the cakes would be incorporated into a place setting? maybe add a seashell or something to the top of the cake as well.. What do you think of this frame? Place Card Frame - Pewter Castle: *
  16. Ok I'm enlisting you guys to please help me with my wedding cake. I hired Deena from Sweet dreams to do our wedding cake. we are doing individual cakes for each guest, one tier, about 5 inches round and 3 inches high. Here's my problem when we did our cake tasting we tasted chocolate with chocolate ganache filling and butter cream icing. Well the butter cream was melting due to the heat and it was too sweet for my taste, so I choose ganache icing as well. That means an all chocolate cake. Well now I'm confused as to how to decorate each cake to make them look like wedding cakes. I originally was thinking of white seashells (a mixture of 3 shells) on each cake and the cake would sit on brown sugar that looks like sand and a few pearl like candies on the plate as well (small pearls) Well I'm just not sure how this is going to look. I heard that Fondant icing is great for outdoor weddings because it holds up in the heat, but I haven't tasted it. AND I'm still not totally convinced that I'll like the cake design. So I was hoping for your impute and maybe some pictures with ideas that can help me. I wanted to stay away from flowers on top of the cakes because, well the cakes are already going to cost allot and as you all know flowers are freaking expensive in Cabo.. So please, please help me come up with some ideas.
  17. We had the same issue, we knew we wanted to be on a beach we can swim in so we opted to stay at a resort in the corridor, (were staying at Villa Del Arco, which is a sister company of villa del Palmar and Villa La Estancia) For us the beach area is WAY too busy for a wedding and the pools at most of the resorts were packed full of people (we even checked out Melia San Lucus) So were going to get married at the Sheraton but stay at Villa Del Arco (our wedding night will be at the Sheraton) This my be an option for you. I fell in love with Melia San Lucas resort, the rooms were very nice and like I said it's on a beach you can swim in. However the only spot to really have a wedding is pool side and even then it would have to be a somewhat small ceremony becuase it's a thight spot. Wasn't the "look" we wanted for our wedding but its very pretty. I think Rebecca's suggestion of Villa La Estancia might be a good choice for you, it's a little pricy but might be worth it to get what your looking for.
  18. Welcome to the board. Not sure on the locations you choose but hopefully the other girls will be able to help.
  19. LOL, cute story.. My FI had planned on getting on stage at a comedy club but chickend out.. so we asked me at a club upstairs after the show. LOL I remember him walking into the club and that very second he went for a drink and all I thought was "wow, that so unlike him, I wonder if he's stressed from working so much" I later found out it was because he was stressed about asking me,, Course the first words out of my mouth was "no, your suppose to be down on one knee" ROFL.. Anyway, so like you evertime we go to that show I'm going to think back on how he proposed. :-)

Hi Alison, I'm getting married at the Sheraton, it's very pretty there and the staff are just awesome. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  22. Ok I'm a bonehead, and during our site visit I didnt' think about going there. Has anyone been there that could give me a review?
  23. When I was looking for a dress, my only concern was that it was not too heavy that I would sweat my butt off for our beach wedding. I just kept that in mind with all the dresses that I tried on. Other then that I didn't care what people thought and if it was "too formal" for a beach wedding.
  24. Welcome, I went to Hawaii several years ago and loved it. I actually was thinking about getting married there as well. Please tell us more about your planning, and post pics if you have any..
