  1. I was in the same boat at you, that's why I made a quick trip to Cabo to confirm the location. Sunset Da Mona Lisa I heard is AMAZING, and with awesome views but my FI didn't want to get married at a place called "sunset mona Lisa" lol.. I also heard it's a PITA to get to but once your there it's amazing. Why don't you describe what you envision your wedding being like, what kind of "feel" are you looking for? that type of things, we might be able to help you narrow things down a little better.
  2. For me the reason I picked the Sheraton is because the very second I stepped onto the grounds there, I knew it was the place. Everything is just so pretty and gave me a "romantic feeling" just walking around, and I knew I wanted that type of reaction. Cabo surf was a cute place, but for me I enjoy eating at different places and having a chance to be more private. Because Cabo Surf is kindof by its self and I knew I wouldn't book the place with our guest I didn't want to stay there. But the beach was amazing there. The Hilton was also very pretty, but I went there after the Sheraton, and I liked the fact that they have several buildings versus just one large one. So it's seemed (IMO) more intimate. Let Jess said, you really can't go wrong with most of the resorts. The only advise I can give is don't have your wedding on Medano beach if you want a beach wedding because it is very crowded there.
  3. I may be wrong but I thought the Palapa, was almost center of the two. If anything it's probably closer to Pitahayas. Jessica, have you contacted Irma at the Sheraton to find out what is booked for those dates?
  4. Yeap, we looked at the resort. It's small and IMO might be perfect for your wedding. Did you see Tasha's wedding pictures she just posted? OR Janet's & Christa's, all three got married there. If your family enjoys the beach and would be interested in surfing that is the PERFECT spot for you and your guests.
  5. I wouldn't say it's "nicer" It's just a beach that allows you to swim. Most of the resorts you can't swim in the ocean because of really bad under toe. Medano Beach doesn't have that problem and that's why we decided to stay at a resort off that beach.
  6. Jessica, the food prices at the Sheration are what I say equal to any resort in Cabo for the most part. I had a steak dinner and was about 45.00 usd, I had breakfast and it ranges, DON'T get the buffet it costs $27 usd and unless you eat ALOT it's soooo not worth it.
  7. lol Jess I'm sure you can find one that is priced better.. But umm just don't go to Rodeo Drive.. :-)
  8. Ahh, that's why.. I'm getting married on a Tuesday (our anniversary) and I heard their weekend rate is MUCH more. Have you thought about changing the date to a Monday or something during the week? The way I look at it, people are traveling to your wedding so having it on a weekend isn't really required since they have to take the time off work anyway. As of right now we are expecting 10 people, but with out two months left until our wedding only 2 yes TWO people have actually booked their travel plans. So I'm giving them until April 12th and after that I'm telling them they can no longer attend our wedding. I have to get so much done that depends on the guest count that I refuse to wait until the last minute to handle. Nope, not doing music, with such a small wedding I figure their is no need. SO we are leaving it open to all going to a club after dinner if were up to it.
  9. HOLLY CRAP Jess,, that is insane.. I paid 150.00 extra to have my dress made hollow hem. And they told me "most" of their alterations were $250.00, but they won't know for sure until my first fitting (on the 3rd) So I will let you know when I talk to them. But I'm having the same stuff done to my dress are you are to yours. OMG if that's what they tell me, I will fall over.
  10. Tasha,, WOW, you are so beautiful, that dress wow your look drop dead gorgeous in it, the chuppa (whatever it's called) is so pretty, everything wow, just wow.. Congrats, enjoy your HM, and I can't wait to see more pics..
  11. B-pics, part two... Hmm Ann I think you might be the frist to capture "those type of pics".. :-)
  12. First off, welcome. Second, go find your dress.. Some places takes a few months for them to get it in. Have you reserved your wedding location and reception site yet?
  13. Awe that's a great story. I learned to snowboard when Cain and I started to date.. I'm not that great, but it's still alot of fun.
  14. I know, he said he's having to turn people down because he's trying to avoid back to back weddings. I don't blame him, because it would be hard being away from his family all the time.
  15. You shouldn't have any issues, just wait to change over your DL and passport information until after you return from Cabo
  16. Yeah I emailed him last week for a pic, but I'm sure he is super busy right now. So I was hoping someone here got one from him or inquired about it.
  17. Hey girls, I have a quick question since I know Juan is many brides photographer. On his website he lists some frames that he offers, but he doesn't have any pics of what they look like. Does anyone happen to have a pic of them?
  18. Welcome and congrats. It's great to see so many new faces around here.
  19. Actually, were having our dinner on the Terrace of De Cortez and with the lights shining on the beach it is awesome. The beach in front of De Cortez is actually very private, when I was there in November I had dinner at De Cortez (and Pitahayas) and I think I only seen one person walking in front. The waves looked like they were going to roll right up against De Cortez. It was so beautiful and very romantic. The quote we got for our location fee in front of De Cortez was $300.00 and in front of Pitahayas was $600.00, that is without a room block. We are only staying at the Sheraton on our wedding night, the rest of our trip we will be at Villa Del Palmar, which is about a 10 minute drive from the Sheraton. Food wise, I love a good steak, and Pitahayas was better then De Cortez, but over all I enjoyed De Cortez total meal better. Plus Pitahayas is really busy, they were packed the night I was there for dinner. Let me see if I can bump a thread for you with pictures of De Cortez that I took...
  20. I think it looks amazing on you. Great find, and even better if Mom paid for it. Off topic,,, D@MN Ann, you have a pretty good lead on me in points.. :-) Shouldn't you be packing or something.. lol
  21. Hi Jessica, I'm actually getting married in front of DeCortez and our wedding dinner will be at DeCortez. I've done a site visit of the Sheraton and you will love it, Juan is also my photographer. The Palapa, is a nice location kind of like a garden view by the pool side. How many people are you expecting? The Pitahayas is a great location for the ceremony, but if the beach location is already booked then why don't you just get married in front of DeCortez and have pictures taken by the rocks in front of Pitahayas? You are going to love the Sheraton, when is your wedding? I'm getting married in two months so you'll be able to see our wedding pictures.
  22. Mishi, I love the very last picture you posted, the one with the white shirt. I just think it would look amazing on you.
  23. Are you getting married at the Sheraton? My FI and I are, along with Jess on this forum as well, so let us know if you have any questions regarding the resort.
  24. Ann I love it, and from what I have learned from you, I think it's perfect for your style... Your dress should be coming in, in a couple weeks, right?
