  1. did you ever end up finding free or cheap maps for your welcome bags? if so, where?
  2. Hi all! I’m trying to decide between DJ Antares (Sistema Sound Control) and DJ David Flores (AVL Systems). Does anyone have any compelling pros/cons in favor of one over the over? They’ve each quoted me $200 an hour. Thanks, MariaElena
  3. I finally got the church music settled. The priest recommended the group Dueto Amigo (guitar, harp, vocals) I had to have my Dad call them (in spanish). Dueto Amigo Humberto Arredondo 52-624-141-5447 Cost = 2500 - 3500 pesos depending on how many musicians ($220-$307 USD) Bride can choose songs. I hope this helps everyone....
  4. For all others interested... I finally gave up on e-mailing Mariachi Internacional Los Cabos. I had my Dad call them directly (he's fluent in Spanish). Now I've got them booked for my wedding. The only phone number for them that worked was cell: 52-624-151-5529. Cost = $450 / hr Musicians = 8 fax = 52-624-143-6099
  5. Thanks for the tip. I'll see what I can negotiate with him!
  6. I'm starting to suspect that contact info for musicians and other services is closely held by the coordinators/hotels so they can continue to tack on their fees. i'll keep looking. thanks!
  7. I just got a quote from David Flores. I want to hire him for only 1 hour to play guitar during my ceremony. His quote says guitar is min. 2 hours & dj min. 3 hours. Did anyone hire him to play guitar for less than 2 hours? I'm trying to find out how open he will be to negotiation. I may give my FI this task... thanks!
  8. i've tried to contact them a few times via e-mail (thru their website), but no response. how did you hire them?
  9. I'm getting married at San Jose Catholic church? Any good recommendations for guitarists, string combos or vocalists? I already e-mailed David Flores (classical guitarist) but haven't heard back from him. thanks,
  10. Emeline at the Hilton has quoted me $800 an hour, which seems REALLY high? What did everyone else pay? Any good recs? Contact info - e-mail, phone, names? thanks,
  11. Here are my bridesmaid dresses (in fuschia, a little lighter color). They are After6 dresses. The Flowergirl dress, with hot pink corset ties (to go with the corset back on my dress) is by USAngels, style 304.
  12. thanks. i just checked out your website. i really like it and loved the starfish on top. i hope to use starfish themed items in my wedding.
  13. i love the clean lines of the dress. it looks like it was really beautiful and not too heavy!
  14. Your wedding is so soon. You must have all of the planning done by now. Did you do flowers thru Hilton / Mundo floral? I've been sent prices, but so far no one has made an effort to convince me that the flowers I will get will be a close replica to the pictures I sent. What did you do about music? Are you getting married onsite? Which terrace are you using? I think I'm on the dolphin terrace. I'd love to see your pics after it's all said and done. thanks,
  15. Emeline at the Hilton is quoting $800 an hour for Mariachis (shouldn't they be cheaper in Mexico?). How much did you pay? Any contact info (name, phone, e-mail)? Thanks,
  16. My dress is the Maggie Sottero "Caroline" dress. My favorite parts are the cutout lace train and corset back. Sorry about the big pics. I didn't know how to make them smaller. From Maggie Sottero website thanks, MariaElena Hilton Los Cabos 10/28/06
  17. good point about using your own vendors. one thing i've been looking for is musicians for our wedding ceremony at the San Jose Catholic church. i'll have to post a thread asking about it. thanks, MariaElena Hilton Los Cabos 10/28/06
  18. Hi - thanks so much for your speedy and helpful e-mai. Well, we've already signed the contract at the Hilton. Our date is set for 10/28/06. Her responses got slower AFTER we signed the contract. I'm glad you liked her when you met her. That eases my mind since we'll have to work with her during our actual Hilton stay and wedding. I have not traveled to Cabo. My FI and I are doing this all on a "wing and a prayer" as the saying goes. For some items, I've decided to get pricing on my own rather than rely on her recs. thanks, MM
  19. Hi! I'm new to this forum. My fiance and I are getting married at the San Jose Catholic Church and having our reception at the Hilton in October. I was wondering if anyone could give me any feedback on Emeline? So far, I think she's been nice but hasn't been very quick when I've asked her detailed questions. Her prices seem a little steep also. Any feedback on the dj or bands available through her? Any other advice? Thanks so much! MM
