Look at these. They actually look like real flowers & some are gorgeous. Don't know if I like the fake greenery but the shell flowers are really pretty. one other thing: those shells have really sharp points and could damage your dress if you rub agains the fabric. I've seen some other shell bouquets that were made with smaller rounder shells that were really prettty.

Just a small house but it WILL have a guest bedroom! everyone is welcome. We will probably rent it out for 6 months of the year. Since we have so much work there the plan is to move in 3-5 years!! YIKES!

One other place that people could look for vases is the dollar store in Cabo they had some the last time I was there.

Some of my guests stayed there during my wedding last December. Pretty property, close to the beach, great privacy. The only house I went into is the upstairs appartment. It had a small balcony cute little livingroom- kitchen-dining great room with fireplace. I din't see the bedroom. It has a thatched room so be warned there might be more bugs. Alegria was also thatched but we really had no problems with bugs and they had mosquito netting over the beds. One of the guests complained about the manager never being onsite other than in the mornings before 10 and after 6 pm... but it's a rental house not a hotel. The cleaning lady was nice but I think she only cleans every other day. The property was within walking distance to Alegria and to the beach so it wasperfect for my guests as they didn't have to drive to the wedding site. We rented about 12 houses in the same neighborhood. They were all really pretty.

might be a headache but you are doing a really good thing.

You will also have to get a "Certificado de Salud" (health certificate) from a local vet for each dog. Thsi will have to be presented to the airline and customs for the US. This certificate has a time limit. I think 48 hrs. So you have to get it right before you leave.

Hey- The best thing about a good fight is the great makeup sex!! Yes, everyone fights and nothing is perfect, perfect only exists in the movies.

Girls! I just want to say how great you all are!! EVERYONE can come and visit! Maybe you could all wait till we finish? It may not be nice to stay in a house with no roof? LOL I just wanted to let you know that gus aren't so bad after all. The very next day he spent all day going over plans AND took me shopping to choose floors, door & windows. He even said said the S word! SORRY! With all the traveling we both do it has fallen mostly on my shoulders to oversee most of the construction. WE have now agreed that both of us will try to be as involved as possible... but he still wants me to make all the design choices. Which is GREAT! If we can survive this.. we can probably survive anything! Next year margaritas will be on me if anyone wants to visit.

martha stewart pompoms

I used them for my SIL baby shower they looked great! They were very easy to do. I made them following the instructions and made them in several sizes. They really turned out great. I even mixed colors. The colors I used were 3 or four shades of pink, green and silver & white. Definitely great for adding color! -
Anyone ever been in cabo for cinco de mayo?
MERRYME replied to ajncooter's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Cinco de Mayo is really a US holliday. We really don't celebrate it much other than it is Mexican Labor day and most of the government workers have to march in a parade. As it is an Americanized holiday the hotels probably do have some sort of festivities. For most people it is just an excuse for a day off from work. -
NOPE! The center of town is about 15-20 minute walk to the beach. Here is what you can have: La Poza is within 1-2 minute walk or canoe ride to beach and they have a bar and restaurant onsite. They are at least 15-20 minute walk to down town or 3-5 minutes by car. Alegria or some rental homes in that same area: 3-5 minute walk to the beach and 3-5 minute car ride to town or 15-20 minutes if you walk. Maybe in town there are 4 bars. Hotel California has one, Shut up franks, Wine bar - La copa, La buena vida. Todos Santos is REALLY low key. There is a "wild" bar in Pescadero (15-20 minutes by car).

Here are some pictures of the beach. You can be there completely by yourselves most of the time. One other great thing. From Dec.- March the whales love coming almost onshore to play with their babies and they really put on an incredble show.

I only liberated it!P I can just see it next time I go through customs in Cabo all of sudden a SWAT team of FEDERALES takes me down and demands return of their 2006 telephone book! LOL
-
Last time I was in Cabo about 3 weeks ago. I freed the Cabo phone book from it's very solitary life as a hotel phone book. It looked like it had never been used. I asked the hotel staff if I could have it. They told me yes as they were getting the new 2007 book in a few days. Mine is 2006 so it should still be pretty current.

I have a Cabo/San Jose phone book if anyone needs me to look something up...let me know.
-
Here are some rental companies in Cabo they are Mexican owned so they probably only speak spanish and will be a little more limited in their selections. I'm getting the info from a Cabo phone book that I "borrowed" from the hotel. It looks like they have basic chairs with chair covers, linen & ties, as well as tents, glassware etc.. They will probably be considerably cheaper than the americanized companies. Cabo Fiestas: 624 1734799 Servifiestas diamante: 624 1444958 Servifiestas Jorsh 624 1460874 If anyone needs me to look something up for them in the phone book just let me know.

You will like todos Santos!! It is a great place to wind down after a hectic wedding. Let me know if you have any other questions. You can try the Posada La Poza hotel it is owned by a swiss coupple. www.lapoza.com My parents stayed there for two days and HATED it. They Loved the setting but felt really uncomfortable with the attitude the swiss coupple had. They were really rude. It is right on the edge of a salt water lagoon and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. GORGEOUS views. It is not tecnically a beachfront hotel. There are no beach front hotels. One other thing you need to keep in mind is that the beach is NOT swimmable. You will have to drive 15-20 minutes towards Cabo to get to a swimmable beach no matter where you stay.. I can also recommend some private homes if you are interested in something like that.

It was a week of festivities not just our wedding and she charged us $1,500 for day of (wedding and reception for over 100 people) and $3,500 for the week including the welcome dinner and the rehersal "fiesta". I had another quote form another coordinator in Todos Santos and he had quoted $13,000 for just coordination!!! She is super sweet and very nice.

Pictures. I do have some somewhere on my computer let me see if I can find them.

If you are having a wedding in Mexico why buy the hot chocolate in the states?.. buy when you get to Mexico. You can have your coordinator pick it up. They literally sell it EVERYWHERE. Abuelita chocolate is really great. They actually have two flavors: traditional with some cinamon flavor and Fruity vanilla. Both are incredible. They also have it in several presentations: 200g bar (like an extra large hersheys bar) and 540g - this comes in a really cute hexagonal box. I have it right in front of me and you guys made me get it out. Now I'm going to have to make some and force myself to drink it..

I've done it on my own and it IS fun! If you are an outdoors person it is great!! Especially after the rainy season as the pools are cristal clear and you can swim in them. You could do something similar on your own. I've hiked up the river canyon next to Cabo surf hotel. You just rent a 4x4 and drive up the river bed as far as you can get and then by foot. You will see small waterfalls and some pools. I should caution you that since you do not know the area it might be safer to do a "guided" tour.
