Have you looked at Marbella's website? They have a pic gallery up so you can see what the pool/bar area looks like. It's actually pretty cool. There is a lot of meandering space around the pool and up to the restaurant/bar area. It's also pretty open to the beach, so you could spread out there if needed. I know when I visited the property, they were hosting a big frat boy retreat (ok, long story!)...any way, I'm pretty sure they had approx 100 guys that they were feeding, entertaining & packing into meeting rooms. That would be awesome if you could bring in your own liquor from Costco or something!

Marbella Suites & Cabo Surf are in wonderful locations for surfing enthusiasts. Marbella is a cute spot & will probably be pretty reasonable as I know they've recently revamped & are trying to kick up business a bit. The only thing about Marbella is there are like a million stairs to negotiate all over the place - so if you have any elderly or disabled guests, this may not be a good place. The whole thing with "no swimming" beaches is that the surf can get pretty violent, so people are discouraged from going out at non-swimming beaches. Read: your surfer friends would probably be in heaven!

I thought it would be really nice to do something special like that so she feels important. -
Congrats on your engagement! It would be very easy for east coasters to get to many of the larger Carribbean Islands with direct flights (Jamaica, DR). Aruba is a much smaller island & I imagine requires some island hopping to get there. The Bahamas would be super easy for you I think - there are direct flights into Freeport & Nassau.

But with the help of my Mom I got them out Monday…Whew! Hahaha! Yeah, I've been going thru the same thing w/invites. I just couldn't find any of the easy to accomplish kind that I really like. And then the ones I loved were SO expensive because they are handmade. So I'm doing a nice compromise and using precut invitation paper & mats & pocketfolds. Anyway, I totally understand! And Ann, don't worry! We sent out STD's in June or July for our March wedding. We also did our wedding channel.com website & sent e-STD's to everybody (ok, that sounds wrong LOL!). I don't think people will do anything about RSVPing too far out anyway.

Alison! Yes, you will sleep better knowing all the info you could ever want about getting married in Cabo is RIGHT HERE! Plus, you have plenty of time girl, don't even start stressing at this point Like Ann mentioned, most bridal salons suggest ordering your dress 4-6 months out. I had an interesting experience in that I ordered my dress in June, expecting to get it sometime between Oct & Dec. Well that darn thing came in August! So point is you have plenty of time!

Sherri! A wedding at Waialea Beach park will be beautiful! My family used to vacation near there when I was a pre-teen. Ummm, and can I say, it sounds like you are WAY ahead of the curve in terms of planning! I don't even have my invites out yet & my wedding is a few months before yours! I plan to send mine after the first so they don't get overlooked during the holiday season. And, also, don't feel bad about no engagement pics - we are in the same boat. I keep bugging him to do it. I'm hoping to turn a holiday Xmas card photo session into potential engagement pics.

Choosing a DW dress…
A10CalGal replied to destinationbride07's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My advice is to find a dress you love & feel wonderful in. It may be an easy breezy sheath or it could be a more formal dress...but you will know when you find it. The other question to ask is how formal do you plan your wedding to be? Sometimes that can help. Me, personally, I did ALOT of online browsing to narrow down what styles I was drawn to. I came up with some things that I did not expect myself to like. The first dress I tried on was "the one." Apparently that is unusual! Anyway, my dress is more formal than I thought I would like, but it just makes me feel great. The other more destination-y dresses just didn't look right on me. So, go try on some dresses girl! -

Thanks Karla! Like Sarah said, getting things aligned properly on the velum is the hardest part. -

Did it take her awhile to get back to others? Maye is coordinating my day-of activities along with a few other things. A few times I have not heard back from her & then I forward the original email again & she gets right back to me & says she didn't get my original email. So, I would definitely try her again - your emails may get filtered to her spam folder. The email I have for her is: [email protected]

I voted for #2 option - I think you would really miss having all of your close fam/friends there. Also, are you freaking kidding me about that vacation situation? Hello?! That new owner is rediculously stupid thinking that a 16 year veteran is going to be happy with losing an entire month of paid vacation. WOW! -
Rebecca's LONG Official Wedding Review
A10CalGal replied to REBECCA's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Rebecca, Great review, so helpful. I especially appreciate you being honest about Maye's strengths & areas for improvement - that helps me know what I need to be more direct with her about. And, perhaps your feedback to her will help her do a better job! And OMG, that little slideshow was such a tease! The first few pics w/you in them we only see the back of you, then finally we see your beautiful smile! I can"t wait to see Juans pics. Congrats MRS!! -

So, because everybody probably runs different versions of software for their ipods (Musicmatch, itunes), that would probably be difficult because there are so many different file formats out there. However, I have definitely found it helpful when other brides post their song lists, that's the hardest part for me is selecting a nice mix of music. Your FI probably has this one under control

You can get the actual flip flops in differnt colors (using same stones) so I will buy black to take on our honeymoon. I know I won't wear them much only after the ceremony and honeymoon but I couldn't pass them up! I did not show Matt as I want to surprise him. He will think I am silly but he will eat it up...that it says Mrs. Snider. I think they will make a great prop for a picture! What a great site! Holy crap, I'm in trouble!
