I've thought about doing a cleanse before, but didn't realize it was THAT involved. Plus, I actually have to leave the house everyday for work

Natasha, I love your vows & your perspective on your partnership. I feel like my FI & I had a lot of those conversations in the begining of the stage of our relationship when we knew we wanted to get married. Now here we are just going thru everyday life...we need to take the time to reconnect with the reasons why we decided being together was a great idea!

SO I come home for lunch and see that it was all messed up, inside and out. I asked Cain if he had a chance to look at the pictures, and he said "nope" and he got up and we looked at them together. OK so I'm 99.9 % sure she went through our freakin mail again.. OMG I'm so pissed... I kept quiet about it because I knew it would stress Cain out, but OMG... OH and BTW he read all the emails that Marty and I sent and he said his Ma was over reacting and NOTHING was wrong with my emails. This women is a real piece of work.. That would be it for me Tammy. I would go ahead & assume that while you are out she is also perusing your dresser drawers, personal belongings, closet, boxes, etc and reading your journal (if you keep one). That kind of violation of privacy is a total deal breaker for me. I would pack her sh*t and leave it on the porch. Wow. I love Natasha's suggestions about how to handle this. I am a firm believer in setting appropriate boundaries early on to avoid future pitfalls. Of course I only learned that after many years of therapy and horrible relationships If you don't set some clear boundaries (and stick to them) you have a long future ahead of you of total frustration and feeling like a victim. She's going to be living nearby it sounds like, so I would not avoid this necessity. She is manipulating you in just the way she wants right now - do not give her this power anymore! If setting boundaries feels difficult or foreign to you, I highly recommend getting this book: Boundaries and Relationships: knowing, protecting and enjoying the self by Charles Whitfield. You can actually read the book on Google Books (click this link, it will take you to the online book).

Fantastic info Jen!! You rock the kazbah -
Ok, holy crap Tammy! I somehow missed this saga yesterday & just got done reading thru the developments. I think the girls have given you some excellent advice. I definitely think you should maintain your outward appearance as the bigger, more mature person. I am happy to hear Cain can see thru all of this b.s. That is a big plus. I do want to offer one thought that I haven't seen anyone bring up yet: this situation presents the perfect opportunity for Cain to let his mother know that you are now #1 in his life. She has been #1 up until now, so she's acting childish in the face of losing that position - trying to get attention from her son. Worse even, she's doing so in YOUR HOME!! I have watched (or read) as this situation has unfolded over the last several months & have wondered how long it would take for it to explode. She seriously needs to act like an adult, get out of your house & take care of her own damn self. It's a good thing that Cain has his eyes open to what is going on, because otherwise she could very well tear your relationship apart.

G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S-!!! The love between the 2 of you is soooo evident in those pics. Very inspiring! Also, thanks for the tips regarding flowers vs. fire dancers - very helpful.

OK, I don't know if these are "secrets", maybe more like tactics! 1. I use Proactive Solution for my face - I wish I would have started it sooner! 2. I ALWAYS wear sunscreen - ALWAYS. 3. I have hyperpigmentation from bc pills, so I use a prescription creme occasionally called Tri-Luma, it works very well. 4. Makeup: I love Colorscience mineral makeup! It's similar to Edyta's Jane Iredale makeup. It really diffuses any imperfections & it feels like nothing on your face. It's also another layer of sun protection. 5. Favorite wake-me-up eye brightener: Benefit Eye Bright. It's a pink creamy pencil that you use under your eyes, in the corners, or anywhere you have shadows. It really wakes your eyes up...good stuff. 6. I always drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. I start when I get out of bed in the morning - I hear a cold glass of water in the am is supposed to be good for you metabolism.

Yay Janet! You should totally be able to put this on your resume, I support it! I especially want to thank you for helping put my mind at ease about the Cabo Surf Hotel experience. Very helpful.

Thanks for the info & pics Karla! So, I guess what I'm thinking, based on the hair/makeup situations described by Janet, is that this would be a fun place to have a girls spa party the day before the wedding. I probably won't book them to do my wedding hair & makeup.

We know one couple is staying in Cabo San Lucas, and one is staying near to our hotel, but beyond that ?? Excellent review Maria! Thank you for thinking of us as you ate your way thru Cabo LOL!

Your Saving $$/Budget tips
A10CalGal replied to TammyWright's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Well, like Sarah, I'm already pretty frugal in my day-to-day activities. I brew my own coffee, make my own brkfst & lunch & we only go out to dinner once per week. I will admit, my biggest problem is shopping. I needed a lot of new office clothes there for a while, and a new pair of boots, oh & then there was that gorgeous D&B bag I just needed I have to cut that out. The one thing that I do religiously though is put $500 every other week into my ING savings account. I have it auto-transferred from my checking every other Friday. So, I've been saving $1K a month which is great! I don't use that $$ to pay for anything other than wedding expenses. I depleted it after putting down the $4K hotel deposit & buying my dress a few months ago, but I'm already back up to $5K. This has worked really well for me. I highly reccomend ING for savings. They have the best rate out there, and it goes up every few months. I think it's at 4.3% right now - so I get at least $20 in interest each month.
