  1. Kash - they are super realistic! I was pleasantly surprised. Although, they aren't really cheap. I went for these because I knew I wanted flowers for my hair & didn't want to worry about dying flowers in my hair! I will try to get a pic of them in my hair...swear!
  2. Girls, I ordered some cream colored silk roses for my hair from FLOWER CLIP :: Hand Picked Silk Flower Hair Clips and other Floral Accessories and am extremely pleased with them! My FI came home on Saturday & asked me where the roses came from & why they were just sitting on the table...he thought they were real!! I got 2 of these: AND, because I spent a certain amount I got a free orchid flower clip - it's sooo cute! I think I may use if for our welcome dinner.
  3. I am using aqua/turquoise as my main color. I used a soft yellow on my invites to compliment the aqua. I also like fuschia, orange & red as complimentary colors.

So, I felt like an ass, but I really don't get it. So, make sure you are prepared for that. People like that kill me, if I worked there, I would just give it to people, it does not hurt her any. Oh well. Stupid Michaels - I hate that place now that my DIY projects are over. I had a coupon out of a weekend paper, came in on Saturday & bought a bunch of stuff & the lady wouldn't give me the 40% discount because although I got it out of Saturday's paper, it wasn't good until SUnday! Bitch!
  5. OK, here's a similar look, only my ering has sidestones and the band has 7 or 9 (can't remember) stones.
  6. You can also find tons of free fonts at http://www.specialtyfonts.com/pers/fontsA-B.htm
  7. Kash - those are great! And I love the way you worded the RSVP card! Good job - and may I also say, this will save your sanity over a DIY project...
  8. I've stayed at the RIU Negril and visited the club resort (there are two RIU's close to eachother.) The club resort seemed a bit more private than the one I stayed at. Beautiful location! And probably pretty affordable for your guests.
  9. Sam - OK, wow $30K budget for a ring?? Can I go shopping with you?? Hahaha. FI & I finally went to get his finger sized & look at bands yesterday. Yes, I know, we are laggers! We went to the same jeweler that made my e-ring. He & his wife are from Poland and have the greatest little shop in a strip mall - weird. Anyway, my FI of course just wants a very simple comfort fit white gold band - easy. As for me, I've been up in the air over whether I want a simple band or an eternity band, or what. I actually was thinking of a pave set eternity band. Our jeweler is awesome - so honest. He told me the pave was a big no with my e-ring, that it wouldn't do it justice. He was right - I tried one on & it was blah. He had just made a ring similar to this: I tried it on w/my ering & suprisingly it looks amazing! Here's what my ering is like: THoughts? I wish I could show you with them right next to eachother....
  10. Edyta - SEXXXXAY!!! Love em! I have totally not dealt with the shoe issue yet! I'm getting my dress hemmed barefoot since we're going to be getting married on the beach AND I am only about an inch or so shorter than my FI...
  11. OK, so I'm late on this, but I thought I should respond since my wedding is rapidly approaching. Honestly, I'm not over weight, and I'm not skinny...I'm kindof an athletic body type that gained some "happy" weight since I met my FI & got engaged. I didn't realize it until I had to go up a pant size. That was really depressing for me. But, I realized that I had to be realistic & not put any additional pressure on myself - like planning a wedding isn't enough! So, begining about November, I really made a commitment to myself to do things that made me feel good. Mind you, this is after I tried on & bought the dress in June. My dress just made me feel like a goddess - and I think that's really important. I power walk/run 3 morning a week. I've recently started a pilates class on Thurs nights & a yoga class on Sat mornings. I've found the more I do, the more I want to do. Long post...sorry! But, I guess what I want to say is that we all want to look our best on our wedding day - but why do we wait until this time to take care of ourselves?? I think it is healthiest to do something reasonable in terms of diet & excercise that you can maintain over time. Extreme measures are never good. My best tips are to fill "blank spaces" in your day with little mini-workouts. Like, when I'm brushing my teeth or blow drying my hair in the morning, I do squats and plies. I lunge across the bedroom to my dresser. I do pushups immediately when I get out of bed in the morning. These little efforts will help you a lot in the long run.
  12. Oh you girls, I am so glad you had such a fun time! I'm jealous!! And, yes, I'm a perv too cuz I can't wait to see!
  13. Melissa, I think your letter is beautiful, eloquent and pertinent. Good job! Maybe think of printing it on linen type paper with a watermark in the background of your monogram?
  14. Natalie, Here are the files for what I included on my cards... Attachment 406 All inserts.doc

Thanks for the help/. There are plenty of stores you could go to that don't require membership. And I would definitely reccomend renting a car. The only confusing part in Cabo is when you first get into downtown...but its just like navigating any other city you've never been to. Here's some info I pulled from a great review on tripadvisor.com (Upscale Thirtysomething's Guide to Cabo - TripAdvisor) that lays out food shopping options: 3. Food: Costco, Cabo San Lucas http://www.costco.com Hopefully you found your way to a timeshare or other hotel with a fridge and kitchenette. It's a great way to be frugal with the meaningless breakfast and lunches so that you can have the world class dinners available in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Costco has about 50% of the items you'll need for a week of feeding yourselves and the kids. For example, we always pick up water bottles, some wine and liquor, sodas, trail mix, etc. See our note on the supermarkets and La Europea for the rest of what you'll need. 4. Food: Soriana Supermarket or Mega Supermarket http://www.soriana.com.mx (I cannot find the URL to Mega Supermarket but who cares!) If you're following the LAWorldTraveler upscale 30-something approach to Cabo where you'll have your fridge and kitchenette, you'll quickly realize that Costco is great, but not one-stop-shopping. Soriana and Mega are two similar supermarket chains that will remind any Gringo from the States of Wal-Mart. Soriana can be found about 2 miles north on the highway leading to Todos Sandos just before you enter Cabo San Lucas. Mega is best for visitors staying in San Jose or close by on the corridor between the two cities and is at the traffic circle about 2 miles from the edge of San Jose (where the McDonald's is). We always pick up vegetables, cold cuts, cereal, milk, bagels, etc. from these supermarkets. Don't forget to pick up plastic bags and aluminum foil if you're staying a week--trust us, you'll need it. 5. Food: La Europea Supermarket http://www.laeuropea.com.mx Whether you go at the beginning of your trip or the end, La Europea is, I'm fairly certain, the best place to go with the least expensive high-end wines and spirits and, to my knowledge, the ONLY place you can go in Cabo for $1 six-packs of Corona or Pacifico (depends on the day or maybe year). There are at least 6 world class tequilas there--from 1942 to Herradura to Don Julio to Jose Cuervo 1800 Anejo or the private reserve. All are priced at nearly 60% of what you'll pay in the US so bring room in your suitcase (lord knows you can't bring liquids in the airplane...). They also have a great selection of pate's, tapenades and other upscale yuppie snacky stuff we love. La Europea is located about a mile east of the Home Depot (yup, one here, too) on the north side of the corridor highway. I think it's closed Sundays.
  16. Thanks for that! We are using our ipod & creating a separate playlist for each part of the event. Mariachi will be during cocktail hour, then we'll play "dinner music" and then "dancing music." We've tried to arrange it in a a way that builds momentum for our party.

I am afraid that a bracelet will catch on the silk on my gown. boo. Beautiful Tasha! Wow, that is wonderful that you have a family heirloom to wear too. Sounds like you've got it together.
  19. Hmmm....well, you could always send an inquiry to Lazy Gourmet. I see on their website they offer "location catering" - not sure what that means, but it can't hurt to ask. Perhaps they could steer you in the right direction if this is not something they do. I would probably just do it myself! Hit the Mega &/or Costco.
  20. Haha Tammy! I thought this was going to be a follow up to the big booty discussion yesterday
  21. You know what Jen, I remember that if you rent a villa, the agency you go thru offers this service. Look at this: Special Services at Villas and Resorts in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Are you renting a villa or do you want someone to stock your hotel??
  22. Oh, Edyta, those are gorgeous! I agree, you are going to be a knock-out bride! On another note, my mom just gave me a beautiful "baroque" pearl necklace that is at least 50 years old to wear. My grandmother passed it down to her. It's perfect - they aren't white pearls, they are more warm ivory and they are more natural in shape. I guess this will be my "something old." YAY!
  23. Jenesis - I totally know what you are talking about. It was a girl that rented a villa for her wedding. Let me see if I can find her post...but I want to say the name of the company was the Lazy Gourmet. Ok, yup, it's lazy gourmet. Here's a thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t909
  24. Also, I wanted to add that I believe I dined at this restaurant a few years ago (99% sure), and if it's the place I'm thinking of, it really does have stunning views & the way it's set up is awesome. The windows are more like glass walls, and they can open them up, it's really cool. Looks like the entree prices are reasonable, I think this might be a great option for you if you don't mind a little drive.
