  1. Julie, I am so in love with your wedding! Everybody had such a fun time, there is no question! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
  2. Ann - you are so great for posting those pics!! And, you totally look beautiful
  3. I just used a regular 3 ring binder with tabs for each vendor/subject. I keep all of my ideas, emails, receipts & budget summary in there.

I was willing to pay a premium for that to be honest. I did negotiate a reduced rate on the pedis...but all I really did was ask them to honor their 15% discount for groups of 7-15. So, instead of $60 each, its $51 each since I'm having a group of 10.
  5. That's so awesome Lindsay! I had no clue you were keeping your guests in the dark...how much fun!
  6. I am using them for several things: I will do a hair/makeup trial the Thursday before the wedding; on the Friday before the wedding I am having a ladies pedicure spa party in my suite; and then finally on Saturday I am having them come to my suite again to do my hair/makeup, moms makeup & MOH hair/makeup. I contacted them initially using this email address: [email protected] She contacted me almost immediately to discuss my needs. You can also call the salon, US Phone: 619 819 9180.
  7. Thanks girls...its a toughie no matter which way you slice it. I'm sad that I didn't get to say goodbye to him
  8. UPDATE: I just got a call from my mom...Shadow (the laborador) went on his way to heaven yesterday. So sad...I wish she would have called me yesterday so I could be there. I found him in 1993 and he was about 9 months old. So we've had him for almost 14 years. I'm really sad this happened, but in a way I hope that it takes my moms mind off of things & makes it easier to be away from home.
  9. Be careful Tammy with delegating to Cain...it was a lot harder for me to let go of controlling everything than I thougt. R is also in charge of the music we'll play - I've secretly gone into his play list & deleted songs that I just absolutely will not have at my wedding. I actually almost re-did the whole list the other night...then I had to stop myself. Should be interesting!
  10. Tammy - R is in charge of the honey moon & as far as I know that's where we will be. I realized I was giving him projects & then second guessing everything he did ...I made myself stop that. I'm just rolling with it!
  11. I'm cool Sarah, thanks for asking. Look at you - 2 months to go!! Right now I am just focusing on what I need to do & letting R take care of the teenager situation, letting my mom take care of her situation & trying to keep things under wraps. I feel like I hardly have time to breath right now, but I know it will be fine once we get on the airplane next Wednesday. I've had to push up my ceremony time to 4pm from 5 due to the waning sunlight issue...a little nervous about all of the vendors being able to adjust. I've got a hair appt tonight, final dress fitting on Friday, our legal ceremony on Saturday, step sons 16th birthday on Sunday...wow, exhausting!
  12. Holy cow with the projector rental fee! Good lord! I hate to say this, but I think you could purchase a projector & bring it with you for less than that. Do you guys have a laptop already that could drive the presentation?
  13. A symbolic ceremony & vow renewal are essentially the same thing. It just means that you are exchanging vows in the presence of loved ones, it just doesn't follow the country's legal requirements for you to be considered legally married in that country. Make sense?

Kaley - I am using a day-of coordinator, Maye Cortinas. You can find her info if you search the cabo vendors section. I've been pleased with her. I'll let you know how it really goes soon though!

Oh no Natasha! I have a 16 yo STEP son to be!! Not biological! But, thanks!
  16. Hmm Jennifer, maybe you should go for the legal ceremony then. I would hate for you to feel like you are being deceptive. HOWEVER, should you choose to go the deceptive route I think you could totally pull it off. Who would know whether the officiant is a judge or not? And, you can always bring your souveneir marriage certificate & sign it after the ceremony so it looks like something official is happening...just some thoughts.
  17. Here's what we're doing: Getting married legally in the US one week prior to our Cabo wedding. Having a symbolic ceremony for our real wedding using our own oficiant - my FI's brother in law. He is writing his portion of the ceremony & we are writing our vows. We chose to do this because we wanted our ceremony to be special in a way that having it done "legally" was not going to allow for us...i.e. it would have to be in spanish, and apparently cannot deviate from their "official" ceremony. I have only told my mom about this...I think I may have told my MOH too.
  18. Wow, those look real to me! I would keep it just like it is - no need to add anything more in my opinion. YOU ARE SO AHEAD OF THE GAME!!
  19. Hi Kaley! Welcome to the board. I am getting married at Cabo Surf in about a week & a half!!!
  20. This is a great PSA for why you shouldn't have a bridal party! Gosh, if you guys have been friends for 15 years it would be a shame for this incident to be the end of K & M's friendship. I think events like this can easily present situations like this that brings out the worst in people. It sucks that M changed plans by bringing a date & not notifying K immediately. In a way M is hanging K out to dry on this - not really fair. And then the whole $ thing just adds injury to insult. Perhaps this can iron itself out after a few days have past...I just encourage you to attempt to stay away from being the mediator - not something you need!
  21. Yay for you! As all the other ladies have mentioned, that is a big deal & a huge relief I'm sure. Now pace yourself! You have plenty of time to work with
  22. My best friend from high school sent this to me today, I thought some of you might get a kick out of it. 25 SIGNS YOU HAVE GROWN UP 25. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them. 24. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question. 23. You keep more food than beer in the fridge. 22. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed. 21. You hear your favorite song in an elevator. 20. You watch the Weather Channel. 19. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up." 18. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. 17. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up." 16. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won't turn down their music. 15. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you. 14. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore. 13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up. 12. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers. 11. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt. 10. You take naps. 9. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one. 8. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach. 7. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests. 6. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good shit." 5. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time. 4. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to drink that much again." 3. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work. 2. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "What the hell happened?" And the number one sign you are getting old is: 1. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old ass. Then you forward it to a bunch of old friends 'cause you know they'll enjoy it.
  23. Quite honestly Melissa, my mom is being a fucking pain in the ass! Seriously. It's like all of the sudden she's decided to start saying no to people - she always over extends herself. She's ending her marriage and learning to say no to him too. So I guess I get to pay for some of her NO therapy! What's so rediculous is that of all people, I am one that never asks her to do things for me, NEVER! And, ironically, I am the one that has been encouraging her to take care of herself first over the last few years. And now the one time I need her big time she just can't. I think with the dog being sick and her still mourning my grandpa's death, she's finally realized that she can't dig deep & power through right now...she's all tapped out.
  24. Thanks for all the support ladies! Friday was definitely a day for me...I reached capacity. Thank goodness I got a massage....it helped! I went home & told R that I just needed a moment before getting into why I was stressed. He cooked me dinner, listened & didn't exacerbate my stress in any way. He let me just be which was nice & much needed. Then I went to yoga on Sat morning which was AMAZING! I love my yoga class So, to answer some of your questions... Why can't 16 yo stay at my moms? Because my mom is living in a studio apartment above her horse stable right now that is only big enough for one person. She & her hubby aren't working out (umm, yeah, this is stressful too!) so she's living in my old place with the dog. Is there anywhere else he can stay? Not really! I'm the only one with family here...and we made these arrangements w/my mom months ago. I guess we are going to have to share the burden amongst multiple people/friends... Can the dog stay at my house? Of course he can! The problem is my mom doesn't want to haul him back & forth from her place to my "strange" place - thinks it would be too stressful for him in his current condition. She has to feed her heard of horses am & pm, so she would be back & forth multiple times per day. Can y'all see how this could be stressful?
