  1. Bring an ipod, or a cd player...you can still have music!! Just make it affordable music.
  2. Jeez Tammy! What the heck I think you are already having budget issues, so don't even get into this!! Sarah, I'm also flying by the seat of my pants on the music thing. As you know, we hired a "Mariachi Trio". I've not given them any specific songs, just asked that they play soft, low key music pre-ceremony & for the processional. Then I want them to break into full mariachi mode when we walk down the aisle after the ceremony to get the party started! I figure they've done enough weddings that they "get it"...let you know soon!

Hey Sarah - I'm not sure about using 2 next to each other as runners - because the edges are finished...I'm packing mine tonight so I will lay 2 out together & see what it looks like for you.

  5. That's part of my issue too - most people are getting in on Thursday afternoon - so I don't want them to feel like they have to do anything other than settle into their accomodations, throw something casual on & have a little low-key fun. One thing I am doing, that probably doesn't apply to you, is providing transportation for all of my guests to & from the Welcome Dinner. Again, doing this so people don't have to stress out about finding the restaurant. Oh my gosh, I just noticed I'm down to 5 days!!!!
  6. Hi Ann! My Welcome Dinner is going to be at 7:00...will probably go till close to 10:00. I have a feeling we may all head out for a night on the town, but no hard & fast plans. I'm not planning anything major because I really just want this event to be a chance for our friends/family to meet eachother & just hang out.
  7. We sent out STD's approx 9 months prior to the wedding date & invites went out approx 2 months prior. I had 2 ppl rsvp on our website...about 15 used our rsvp card and the rest (my FI's family) didn't do sh*t!!
  8. I just tried the same one on today! And, I look like I'm expecting - boo!
  9. Welcome home Lenita!! Thanks for allowing us a peek into your hubby's world
  10. I buy ALL of my candles from Target & love them. I've always been surprised by the length of burn time
  11. Oh, honey, that just really sucks! I'm sorry that you and your FI have to go thru this. I think that you need to be as gracious as possible & try not to get into the middle of it. Be supportive of your FI, of course, but do not engage his parents. They sound like pretty negative people...and that's their choice. I agree w/Jennette regarding the shower - do not change your invite list. Invite his family as originally planned. If they want to be party poopers or if they feel that strongly about what's happening, then they won't show - but you will still have been gracious & invited them. Sounds like you & FI need a nice night away from all this crap!
  12. cuz there is no way we can buy a house in California (well, anywhere that we want to be in Cali). We both make plenty of mony & it's rediculous that we have to rent a house...we really want our own place and to still have some form of lifestyle
  13. Yes & no...I mean it seems like just yesterday that I still had 6 months to go. I am definitely starting to get that feeling that things are going to happen WAY too fast. I'm really excited & looking forward to just getting there & relaxing. I am realizing that I like having a "project" to manage...so after we return the wedding I am moving on to finding a house for us to buy, probably in Austin...so that will be a biggy! Relocating...yikes.
  14. I bet your labels will curl up if the wall of the candle gets thin enough to let enough heat thru...make sense? Better do a test run.... This is fun...I'm not doing any projects - just waiting for next Wednesday to come & watching u guys do all the work!! Hehehehe...
  15. Wow, those are so fricking awesome Sarah!!! I love them. I think it sounds like you're good to go on the candle...I mean it's been like 3 days already right?
  16. Aww, thanks. I used to always be really afraid of people finding that out about me...now that it's almost 10 years behind me I'm totally over that. It was really a weird time. The most awkward time was when my financial accounting class partner came in & literally caught me "in the act." I think he may have been more embarrased than I was!!
  17. Thanks for not judging I was really ready to hear it... C'mon Ann...I know you are an interesting girl. You've gotta have something good
  18. Tammy - I don't like the first one at all - I think its to casual anyway. The second is kind of cute, but again, kinda casual.
  19. Wow, interesting stuff! OK, ready for mine? To pay for & support myself for the last 2 years of college (mom couldn't help) I worked at a strip club & pulled in almost $50K each year while taking 18 - 21 units in college. I maintained a 4.0!!! Imagine how hard it was to start an entry level "real" job at half that...

  22. I'm having Suzanne Morel come do hair & makeup for myself, my MOH & my mom
  23. Very nice Melissa! I am impressed...so coo. It really looks like you have long hair that's been curled & pinned.
