  2. OK - yuck! We went to a Halloween party last year & they had one of those. I couldn't even look at it without partially gagging. I could not bring myself to taste it. I clean a kitty litter box out every other day, I have no desire to eat anything that even closely resembles it (internally gagging as i type)

I think this is a common boy thing. But, if you do end up getting something sexy he will love it! Honestly, I didn't get much use out of my lingerie...the first time I put some on (before the wedding) R passed out on me! Then I really didn't think about wearing it on the honeymoon. Now I have to make excuses to put it on. Kinda silly.
  4. Girls - don't frett about the overhead compartment thing. The flight attendants used the one in the way back, right next to where they sit/stand & kept it exclusively for my dress. They guarded it for me. Just be a real happy faced sweetie to them & they will treat you well.
  5. I was trying to find my lingerie to post on VS - but couldn't find it...anyway, have you seen their new Bridal section? Victoria's Secret - Bridal Collection

  7. My MOH & her parents hosted my shower. I brought a bottle of wine for her parents since they were opening up their home for all the bridal craziness! I also wrote MOH & her parents very personal thank you notes afterward. I treated my MOH to her hair/makeup and jewelry for the wedding, so I didn't really feel like I needed to gift her.
  8. Ann - yes on the redo of the flower girl shirt. So cute, she'll love it! I bought 2 Bride tanks with rhinestone lettering. I have a baby blue one I wore on the plane (hint, hint, I'm carrying a dress & wearing a BRIDE shirt - ask me if we're getting married!!!) and then a white one I wore on our wedding day. Now I don't know if I can ever wear them again Well, except around the house. SOOOO, maybe go for the Mrs._______ so you can wear it over & over beyond the wedding.
  9. OK - question: are you planning on wearing the shoes when you walk on the beach? Or just for afterward when you are on non-sandy surfaces? **I really like #2 in any case
  10. I had the same feelings about my mom...I was totally going to buy her a few options & see what she likes. OK, well leave it to my mother to be totally offended by this! She said she could take care of it & not to worry. Although, she did consult me with her ideas. I'm just happy she didn't wear jeans & she actually wore some sort of bra Here's what she wore: it's a hand made silk skirt from a lady she knows in Hawaii & the top she ended up buying in San Jose the day before the wedding!

And, definitely have some petals or something to toss...
  12. Hello Kashif! Welcome. So glad to see Loreta's other half I checked out your website & blog - love the music on the website! And the photos are great. I love that the two of you are a team, that is so wonderful!
  13. Yay Christine! I'm so glad you guys were able to figure out how to do this...and I am a huge Jamaica fan, so good choice!
  14. that is highway robbery! are they mailing you the actual artist?

Thanks for your help I sourced my own flowers - see my review http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t3895 I paid a total of $245 for 6 bunches of gerberas & 3 bunches of roses. This included the labor to cut the stems down to size for the table arrangements & make 2 bouquets.
  16. Anny - oh my gosh, you are so gorgeous! Love your dress. Love the favors & the cage & everything. GREAT JOB!
  17. Thanks girls! Amber - I loved the table set up, it was perfect. I am definitely glad I got the chinese lanterns - they added a cool element to our photos. Raydensmama - thanks! My bouquet was soooo simple it's not even funny. But I really loved the gerberas - they are so cheerful & bright (and cheap)/.
  18. Drea - yes, definitely use Maye's chuppah! It was $250 - and in my opinion definitely worth not having to mess around with a DIY situation
  19. Well, you could just throw a kick ass party instead...way less stress, but alot of the same pay off. That's what I"m thinking anyway...
  20. Hi Anita! Welcome to the board
  21. OK, here is a Martha Stewart article that describes how you can build a basic four post structure (which is what all of these canopies are anyway)... Attachment 548 And then here's a collection of inspiration photos I collected... Attachment 549 A Slice of Shade.doc CANOPIES.doc
  22. Tara - I know that Tasha's dad built hers for her. I think her mom sewed the fabric part & they brought it with them and got the structural stuff from a home store in Cabo. When I started planning I totally thought I could make a chuppah myself...got over that! I'll see if I can find the DIY resources I collected...
  23. Natalie! OMG - you are gorgeous. And your green eyes are electric! I love it. I so totally want to do this after seeing consistent results over & over with you girls.... And Leigh, thanks for posting that website! I may explore my options

For example: the main sheet of the document is a categorized overview (like under attire it will show expenses for the bride and groom). But if you click on the "Attire" sheet of the document, you can enter the description of the item (and location where you purchased it), the quantity and unit price. It will then keep track of all your attire expenses and categorize them on the main overview sheet. Sounds very similar to the workbook I put together for myself!! We are anal accounting freaks!
