Completely unrelated: Christa, what are your favorite wineries in your area? We just moved to the bay area and have started visiting the Santa Cruz mountains wineries. Hahaha, well at least you added credibility to my statements! So, oh my goodness, where to start? We actually have some amazing wineries down here in my neck of the woods (Monterey County). Here's a link to a complete listing Monterey Winery Directory Of those, my fav's are Estancia, Paraiso, Delicato, Hahn/Smith & Hook, and San Saba. Paso Robles is a great weekend trip if you're up for that - and they have a whole bunch of fun, interesting, and great wineries. Before I got married my MOH took me down there & we did the Wine Trolley - so much fun.
  2. Congratulations Jennifer! I love the vibrant colors you chose. You look gorgeous!!!
  3. 2 bottles will give everyone plenty of champagne!
  4. Hmmm, 200 ml is only like six ounces. A standard bottle of wine is 750 ml and as a general rule, you can expect 4 to six glasses of wine (depending on how generous the pour). I would say you need 2 bottles of champagne/sparkling wine for your toast. And, quite honestly, the one at the bottom of the list, Domaine Ste Michelle Blanc de Blancs is not a bad choice at all.
  5. Tammy - before making a recommendation to you, I guess I would want to see their list. My guess is that your choices may be limited. We had a sparkling wine from Chile for our reception & it was great. Do you like a dry-ish or sweet-ish wine?
  6. Awww!! Welcome Courtney's mom! And, how wonderful that Aaron spoke with you & your husband before the proposal - good guy!
  7. It will be fine! One of my friends stays there every time he goes to Cabo. It's more like a B&B feeling. The owners are very nice & personable & will take care of any request you may have. Come to think of it, I think one of the girls that got married a few months ago stayed there also... Yep, Jengonda9 (Jen) stayed there after their wedding - here's what she says: Bungalows Bed & Breakfast (in Cabo) – A+ We stayed in the honeymoon suite this time. It had a beautiful view over town, a private terrace and this cool kitchen with a bar that opened to the terrace. We absolutely love this place! It is quiet, romantic and unique. If you are looking for a huge all-inclusive, this is not the place. And the owners are really helpful. One night they helped us make dinner with the Marlin the boys caught that morning. And they arranged for us to have a couples massage right on our terrace for only $90 for 75 minutes!!
  8. Perhaps you can have a licensed interpreter/translater translate the document & take that with you to your County Recorder's office? Where did you get your marriage license??

  10. Dang girl! That is one comprehensive review. Honestly, I skipped all of the nuts & bolts parts, simply because I feel like I've been with you through the whole planning process! So, I had to skip ahead to the ceremony & reception part. And I loved what you shared about what your hubby said to you - it made my heart melt! I'm so glad your day was everything you hoped, dreamed & PLANNED for! I just can't wait to see your pro pics...eeek! Congratulations from the bottom of my heart sweetie
  11. Ahhhh, Edyta! Beautiful. I've been so frustrated cuz our laptop took a crap & I couldn't see this until now. I love, love, love your photo's! You & your hubby make such an attractive couple and it was quite evident you were both having an awesome time. Absolutely gorgeous!!! The horse shots are amazing. I can't wait to hear the story about how you & your dress got on that horse. Congrats girlie!!!
  12. Yay Sarah! You looked wonderful, glowing, happy & all things bridal Congrats!

To stressed to shop - that's bad! So glad this all worked out...now go get your nails did!
  15. Carly - definitely look at the budgets thread. This is how I approached the whole thing - and like you, never having planned a wedding, I had no idea on cost to begin with. I first decided on what kind of venue I wanted (i.e. all inclusive, not inclusive, large hotel, boutique hotel). Then I started requesting information from the type of venue I decided on. That gave me a very good reference point in terms of price range per person for drinks, food and any other fees. Also, is your budget supposed to include the at home reception? That could get tricky - I would do a separate one for each. I would definitely know what you are working with before you start planning - like we said we didn't want to spend any more than $15K. If you don't set a limit for yourself, it's really easy to exceed
  16. Yay! So many weddings in the next month.... Enjoy your day, relish every moment. Congrats!
  17. Well, first of all, I'm so excited for you guys - YOU ARE BUILDING A HOUSE IN BAJA! When can I vist?? Seriously though, he's the man, he should be taking care of the man things - the construction things. JEEZ!!! Appeal to his ego, tell him that you just don't understand these construction things & really need him to take the lead on that part.
  18. Kash - that is so cute! I've never heard/read that before. Very unique & I am sure a wonderful representation of your relationship. Sweet!
  19. Yup, let your attendants be with their dates! They are there for you, but they deserve to have fun too. I don't really know how formal you want this to go down, but I would recommend letting people sit where they want with your size of group. That's what we did & it worked out perfectly. We had one big square table, so everybody could see eachother & the only indication that there was a "head of the table" was that's where we (bride&groom) were sitting.
  20. Courtney McBoob!!!! Priceless.
  21. I don't think it's unusual to have your final dress fitting that late. Mine was 2 days before we left! I'm assuming you've had a few fittings already though... Passport - definitely put your energy there! How long ago did you apply?
  22. DOH Ann! Our total ended up being $16,500 - and that includes everything: my dress, his clothing, travel, accomodations, rings, etc. And we only had 20 guests. But, I did splurge on some things like a spa day for the ladies and steak & lobster for our reception. If I would have kept those things off the list, I would have been right at $15K.
  23. Oh my - now I feel like our legal ceremony was just blah! You look beautiful & happy. Congrats Mrs. Roux!!!
  24. Very pretty Tammy! I love the detail on the bottom.
