  1. Thanks for making me feel better Ann! I'll be paying taxes on my own for 2007 anyway - it's easier to transition at the start of a new calendar year for me on that. (umm, maybe I should also mention that I haven't officially filed my 2006 taxes! Stupid HSA problem, I had to file an extension.) I suck....
  2. Yeah, you're fine. I didn't start dress fittings until one month before we left. I would take care of the BM dresses though - those can take 8 weeks to come in if you have to order them. And as far as the boys - prepare to be frustrated. My hubby just didn't understand what the big deal was - as if he could just walk into Macy's any old day and find exactly the right thing was. GRRR!! You'll be fine though, really!
  3. You are so right Karen. I am still legally my single last name, but I use my new married last name in business & socially. I still have to sign everything w/the old name. But, in a way that's ok, cuz I haven't really figured out a good flair for my new siggy!!!
  4. Welcome to the forum Veronica! I don't have any experience w/your location, but I know someone will have some great advice for you. My advice - persistence!
  5. Wow Karen - first of all, I think you deserve a prize for being so on top of this name change thing so quickly! I haven't even done the social security thing --- I suck.
  6. And here is some more La Panga info http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...estaurant.html Local Eight is relatively new on the scene compared to La Panga. When we ate there, the owner was there & was so chatty - he's very interesting. The food at Local Eight is termed "global cuisine" while La Panga would definitely be more mexican cuisine. I think they each have fantastic ambience. Have you looked at the Local Eight website?
  7. Hey Amanda - I have eaten at both restaurants & they are both amazing in their own ways. I believe Janet had her welcome dinner at La Panga - see her review. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ng-review.html
  8. Well congrats & welcome back MRS. LAMBERT!!! (isn't it fun to say you are a Mrs now?)

And, everybody appreciated it for sure. **You also don't lose people that decide to get a drink & don't get seated on time.
  10. Ok girls, stop being so dang efficient please. I've been married for almost 4 months & I haven't done anything about this yet! Well, I've downloaded the Social Security form & looked at it, but that's about it.
  11. Ack! I was like "what??" You tease! So, you're getting there on the 29th...we're leaving on the 31st...we should try to hook up! Yes? How cool if we could both meet 2 BDW girls while there...(me: Andrea & you...you: me & Kate!)
  12. OK, I just got to see the whole thing! Our connection at home is SO much better than work. You look so great! I really felt the emotion in your pics. And, I have to say, you almost look like a picture in a picture in some of those - you look so perfect!! Super sweet slideshow!

Although I was completely up my DH's butt about it, he did a really great job of putting together the playlists & managing the whole situation. In hind sight, if I could have just let that one go, I would have saved myself some bridal stress!
  14. OK, I'm an idiot - I guess I bumped the wrong thread! Drrrr... Anyway, here is Dominic's info: [email protected] Call from US: 949-338-8075 Call from MX: 044-624-110-72-44
  15. OK, I'm super busy so I only watched the first half (I think) - but YAY!! You look awesome & great pics...I love your expressions I'll have to watch the rest later. Poor Tammy - you are torturing her!
  16. Here's a thread that may answer other questions you have: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-question.html
  17. Yes, that would hurt my feelings, especially since she originally committed to staying at the wedding hotel. BUT, she's gotta do what she's gotta do. I wonder what she'll find for less than $160/night though? Don't take it personally, it's just what she needs to do.
  18. Bump on Dominic's info since I've gotten a few PM's after my shout last night. He get's really good feedback from Tripadvisor peeps, as well as a few on here. I contacted him via email yesterday & had a quick response. Bottom line: we have a 4 door Nissan Sentra w/AC for $40 per day. this includes airport pickup & drop off, and insurance...no other charge for anything. Very straight forward so far.
  19. Ooooh! I just got the chills reading about the starfish...how cool Nicole that you got that to Sarah! I can't wait to see pics Sarah. Congrats!
  20. I purposely did not put an announcement in the paper for 2 reasons: 1. That's totally not my style 2. I didn't want to create the opportunity to receive any unwanted communication from ex-boyfriends! I figure that the people I care about in my life already knew I was engaged, so why publicize it?? But that's just me.
  21. What the...?? That is totally weird. I liked Ann's idea though
  22. Dang church drama! I wouldn't feel bad about any of this - I would just say it's a rumor. No need to defend yourself. If you leave, you leave...if you don't - well, they'll just have something else to gossip about!

I'll only speak for myself, but we did several extras like the welcome dinner, the ladies spa day & A LOT of open bar time. Also, most of us have included the rings & our wedding dresses in the budget...you don't necessarily have to count that for your wedding day budget, right? OK, I just re-looked at my budget & pulled out the welcome dinner & transportation, paying for all the ladies to get mani/pedis, my mom & moh's makeup & my dress - and it brought my actual down to just over $10K. So, YES! You can do it!
  24. OMG, that is fantastic!! That sure is some kinda kick ass blender he's got there - those who aren't married yet should put that one on their registry!
  25. Wow Jessica, I just saw this ....AMAZING WORK!! I think those are very special - how many did you make??
