OK ladies, fast forward about a week...holy crap, I am overwhelmed with 4 potential jobs. They are all so different, in different geographical locations (commute wise), different future potential, different industries...ugh! The one my gut is telling me is the right one for me is of course the one that wants to start me at the lowest salary. I'm stuck in that dimension where I have to weigh the cost of a short term pay cut against the benefit of chosing the right job that is offering me a great CAREER opportunity with tons of professional growth potential. AND, working in a location that has a reverse commute (huge here in Seattle). Hmmm, it sounds like I'm answering my own question as I type this. I guess the tough part is there are three other jobs that are offering initialy higher compensation. One in particular has fantastic benis including a 30% annual bonus & profit sharing & a gym membership, my own office... So, do I go the greedy route with a solid company that I will probably be able to deal with & just have a JOB? Ugh. It's so bad that I've started a spread sheet to compare the pros & cons.

Well HALLELUJA!!! Congrats Catherine! And, no, it's not weird to change your mind on your pre-planning ideas. It would probably be easier if you didn't, but heck, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY ENGAGED! So you can now plan from that perspective Congrats again!

Honey, as long as you've got your man, your dress & a bikini, you are good to go! Best wishes for a wonderful wedding! -
What a lucky girl you are to have a dream wedding at One & Only! I cannot wait to see your pics - I love the lounge set up. Thank you for posting such a thorough review

Sarah we want to see your pictures from Juan
A10CalGal replied to TammyB's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
OMG Natalie! I am so pissed for you. I mean, it's just disrespectful what he's doing - basically not doing what he should because you aren't being a raging bitch & hassling him. 3 months! And 2 brides after you have received their pics! NOT COOL. UNPROFESSIONAL! Is he going to send a crappy email to Sarah now do you suppose? -
The salon/spa had literally just opened when we were there in March. I did not have the chance to try any of their services since I arranged for Suzanne Morel to take care of my hair/make up and a mani/pedi party for all the ladies. I doubt you will have to use their services...that doesn't seem like Cabo Surf's style.

Yay, our first Costa Rica review. Great job Angie. I'm bummed to hear your mention of being robbed That sucks. But over all it sounds like you were able to get past that & enjoy your time. When do we get pics??

I totally agree with what Janet said. For us, it was totally worth the open bar. Even though we had probably 2 people that didn't drink but one drink, the rest of us made up for it HUGELY! Just not having to worry about it was worth it to me.

Heidi, my heart breaks for you honey. I think I know exactly what you are going through. My father had been out of my life for a long, long time and I always had fantasies of reconnecting, of having a dad. A few years ago I got a phone call informing me that my father had died & I am responsible for his estate & his body. WHAT?? I was in complete shock. I was pissed, i was sad, i was mad. Anyway, what I really want to say to you is that you will feel your own kind of closure by doing what you feel in your heart is the right thing to do right now. Once I got through all of the crazy emotion of "why is this happening right now?" - and I calmed down, I decided the best course of action to take was to handle things in a way that I would be able to look back on & feel no regret what so ever. For me, it entailed paying for his cremation & releasing his ashes to people in his life that cared about him. It entailed dealing with his "estate" (which was a joke). It entailed paying the creditors that were after him, and then after me. Right, wrong or indifferent in others eyes, I did what I needed to do to feel at peace in a shitty situation. And now, 5 years later, I can say I am proud of myself in the way I handled it. I know you can do the same. Hugs & love Heidi. Be good to yourself

Ladies - there are tons of flower shops in Cabo & San Jose. I used Pamela Floreria in SJD. Some other ladies have used The Flower Cart. But, seriously, you can show up down there & go to a flower shop a few days before your wedding, and tell them what you want. We even had our stems delivered to the wedding hotel. Just drive around town & you will run into many florerias.

YOu are totally right Kash, thanks for saying all of that. I actually just came from a great interview (by great I mean, I liked the vibe of the company & the people, I liked how they communicated with me & I like what they do). I can feel myself being very open & asking a lot of questions, and I think thats good. I guess the more I interview the better I will get at it. Speaking of work - I guess I better get off of here & log in to do some work for the old job

Happy Birthday girlie! I hope you get to do something fun...go shake your money maker!

Ann - I don't know what happened! As of last week on Tuesday, they were going to be meeting to "discuss all of the candidates" and would "be in touch." I haven't heard a thing. I am really surprised I didn't even get a courtesy email or anything. In a way, I think that my interview made them realize that they are not in agreement on what they need & how much that is worth to them (one guy said the job was "no big deal" and wouldn't even take 40hrs/week part of the year, while the other 2 people said the job was growing with the company & they weren't sure if one person would be able to handle it long term!) So, I think they may be regrouping. Whatever. Quote: Originally Posted by DreaW Christa can I join the job hunting sucks boat? I hate looking for jobs....Still subbing though.. Hi Drea! Yes, definitely joing the club. At least you are able to sub & make some $. And, thanks for the offer about your sister, but honestly I don't think Costco Corporate would be a good fit for me. I'm more of a small-medium size business girl. And now I'm turning the chicken carcass into chicken broth that will become tonights chicken soup dinner Quote: Originally Posted by JenandBrendan Sorry the job hunting isn't going well. And, our next goal is to buy a home & we can't exactly qualify for a mortgage if I don't have a full time job. I'm trying to enjoy, but it's hard without any buddy's to hang with. I go to the gym, take the dog to the park...play Suzie Homemaker...take the kid to school, you know. Quote: Originally Posted by Adamsgrrl what position are you looking for? in what field? Thanks girls! Glad I posted - we can be in this together. I just need to remember that I can be picky & wait for the right one. I am able to make a bit of money working remotely for my last employer, so that's good. Honestly, being home is getting a little lame. Social life sucks. Blah! I've reverted to "poor" mode. I was extremely excited that the dinner I cooked last night that everybody loved cost less than $8 total! Ahahaha!

So, here I am in Washington...looking for a job. I've had one major interview process that has netted zero results. I've met with a recruiter who has a few interviews scheduled later this week for me. I also have an interview with a consulting firm tomorrow. Progress is good, but the thing that bugs me is that I'm worried that I'm going to choose the wrong job. I did that about 2 years ago, and it almost killed me. The wrong job just really f's me up mentally in a bad way. That last experience was so rough, especially because I thought I'd done my due diligence, and it turned out to be a complete farce of a job - they lied about a lot of things. So, I guess ultimately I am gun shy. I will just have to do the best I can & be willing to walk away from the next one if it's not right for me. Am I sounding sane??

You can definitely find lot of info by reading peoples Cabo wedding reviews, or running a search. I did semi-diy flowers. I bought my flowers from a local flower shop in San Jose Del Cabo, had them cut down to a certain length & my coordinator arranged them in vases filled w/sand & water. My bouquet was very simple, tied it with an extra chair tie. It cost me less than $200. The only thing I wish I would have put more energy into is the bouquet - mine was pretty small.

Right on! Glad you like Enjoy your husband & your baby!!
