  1. Oh yay, I have more... Dear Husband, Wow, I am so sorry you are having such a crappy day already. I love you so much, but sometimes I just want to smack you. Seriously honey, how do expect to license your vehicle in another state without proof of title? In fact, I'm pretty sure I told you that was a requirement when I looked up the address of the DMV for you a few days ago. And the fact that you got into another fender bender, right in front of the DMV, wow...I don't know what to say. TGIF
  2. I know what Galit is talking about - it's cool. Just a piece of advice though: you are going to need a votive/tealight holder to block any wind from blowing out your candles (assuming you will be outside). Here an idea:
  3. Whew, I think I just spent a good 20 minutes catching up on this thread. Glenda - OMG girl, you are so awesome....just so awesome. Galit - I agree with the other girls, I think it would be very therapeutic for you to send that letter to your dad. Sarah - dude, your husband can TOTALLY do the resp therapy thing. My best friends stoner brother is doing it...if he can do it, anybody can! Drea - You go girl! Dear mucous that is lodged in my sinuses, Seriously, why did we wait for Friday to do this? You suck. Dear husband, That was great that you decided to sleep in this morning. I know you had other plans and probably didn't plan on me not getting up, but wasn't it awesome leaving the apartment at 7 am to take your son to school just 7 miles away & not returning until 8 am? And I know it pissed you off that I was still in bed when you left again at 8:45, but oh well. Dear Step Son, Thank you for being more considerate of me & less moody lately. I hate to think you are doing this because of the "incident" the other day, but in any case, it's much appreciated. I really do love you, even though you piss me off most of the time.
  4. So glad you found something! THat was quick! So, did you take advantage of the one cent tiara offer?? If you did, you have officially won the least expensive tiara prize. You girls remember when Annie was so excited that she got hers for 99 cents? That is awesome!!
  5. Mel - my very best wishes to you & Jared for a wonderfully memorable wedding day filled with only love and joy. You deserve to have an extra special time after all of your trials & tribulations.
  6. My MOH put together a wine tasting adventure for mine. It was really fun & different than the normal gig.
  7. FINAL UPDATE (I swear) I got a follow up call from my recruiter this morning regarding this mess. She said she "looped back" with the employer to let them know I am declining their offer. They were "extremely disappointed." Apparently she explained to them that I had an issue with their policies, especially because I was not briefed on any of this & was subjected to an in depth physical, on their property. It made me extremely uncomfortable. Their response was that any candidate looking for a job should expect to undergo random drug testing at any company. They really believe this! My recruiter told the hiring manager that was not the case. The response was "well at any of the big companies you should expect it." I love my recruiter for this...she said "no, I work with Microsoft, Expedia, T-Mobile, Amazon etc & none of them do random testing." Whatever. The whole point to me is that I should have been completely informed of EVERYTHING they were going to subject me to. Period. Bottom line, even though the company wants to blame the recruiter, when I showed up on Monday the hiring manager should have welcomed me & explained the whole process to me. Bottom line, she did none of that. She met me at the front desk & said "let's go." She should have picked up on the fact that I didn't know what the hell was going on when I asked questions like "where are we going? What do you mean your drawing blood? I thought this was just a drug screen." She did not respond to any of that. She's an idiot & I don't want to work for her. END RANT

Wow, that's tiny! And, yeah, I'm pretty sure your panties don't have anything to do with altering your dress! Bitches!
  9. That is awesome. From both perspectives. I love it!
  10. Well, it looks like you've made your decision - congrats on that! For what it's worth, before I realized you decided, I voted for #2. I think it looks very flattering on you.
  11. If you have inside networking contacts, I would definitely recommend utilizing them. I would definitely say the best jobs are ones that you just "hear about" and they ARE NOT on monster.com. Another tactic I love is to decide what company you WANT to work for - don't wait for them to post an ad. Approach them thru a contact, market yourself & show them what you can do for them. Good companies will recognize talent & want to scoop them up even if they aren't advertising for a position at the time. (see Ask The Headhunter® - very good advice on marketing yourself). If neither of those options work for you, then go with a widely known, reputable firm. I don't know what your area of specialty is...but Robert Half International represents finance & accounting professionals, MRI is a management staffing company (entry level to exec) & they have offices all over the US. This is a good guide to how to work with recruiters & lists several firms & their area of specialty : Executive Search Firms: The Riley Guide Good luck!
  12. Maria - those people are just wrong, wrong, wrong!! Clearly they have no clue

Sends totally the wrong message. And as for the car/bus thing -- if he really wanted to not take the bus, he would take the steps to learn how to drive, clear and simple. And lastly, sending you BIG HUGS if I could I'd send a big ass glass of wine. Thank you Janet. I appreciate the support...and don't worry, I've got the wine situation covered!

I had quit smoking at that point, but was appalled that they would put that condition on employment. You da man! Hahaha! And, wow! Nicotine test? F&ck that! What is up with these companies? Well, as an update, I just got done talking w/my recruiter. I told her it's a no go. She was not surprised & completely supported me. She was really appologetic about the whole thing...she is pissed that the company didn't disclose all the stuff about the full on physical with medical/prescription history as well as the random drug testing. She says she has never worked w/a company that does stuff like that unless you are operating machinery. In fact, her whole office is pissed for me at this point - they all think random testing is a violation as well. So at least I know I'm not being a complete extremist!
  15. They called today - 9 days before your wedding - to say they are coming?? WTF? Whatever you do, do not allow yourself to be stressed by any of their last minute antics. Just don't do it! Best of luck girlfriend!
  16. Angela, that sucks. I would be ultra pissed. Doesn't she know she's dealing with a bride? A bride that needs her dress to be PERFECT. A bride who is leaving to get married in 3 weeks! ACK! My seamstress was awesome. I was a little skeptical when she said to come in a month before we left. But, she did an excellent job. We did 3 fittings. I actually left it at her place until the day we left so I didn't have to hide it. Kick her in the ass!
  17. Yeah, that's the problem, you can't get them from the US to Mexico "legally." I got the huge sparklers thru my WC for $2.50 each. Definitely not cheap, but they were a ton of fun.
  18. LOL, I thought it was time for a change
  19. Dear self, You are still wearing what you slept in. It is 2 pm. You need to get up & take a shower! Get off the forum Dear upstairs neighbor, Are you building something? Because all day it's sounded like you are pounding nails. I don't think it's legal to run a construction business out of your apartment. Dear cat & dog, You are enabling me! All three of us have been sitting in the same place on this bed all day long! Don't either of you need to get up and pee or something?
  20. I was thinking those M's must be something else Now I can see...and they look fantastic! I love the color combo also. You are on your way. Next, you get to learn about the wonderful world of adhesives and paper cutters. When you get there, post, because I learned some VERY hard lessons about adhesives
