  1. Wow, great thank you note Jessica. Way to show restraint. That lady is super crazy psycho! I don't like her at all.
  2. OMG Jaime, what a precious little pup!! Super cute. Yay for Christmas~!

Isn't it so gay when all of these guys get together & play games - I like to call that a circle jerk. No computers this weekend!!
  4. Oh girrrrrl!!! You know, this is one of those things that kind of builds over time I think. At first it's something he does when you aren't home just to pass the time, next thing you know you've got an addict on your hands. It's like a drug (hey, at least it's not porn!) Rafael gets stuck on things sometimes - like a flight simulator game, or working on something in the garage. It's nice that they have hobbies, cuz that gives you time for yours. But when you are feeling neglected and a pissed off like you are now, and he's not doing work because he's addicted to the damn game, then I think you definitely need to do something. You just have to be up front with him & give him a little tough love. Let him know what you are seeing - because he may not see it since he's so wound up in the game. Point out the things that are being neglected (YOU, work, etc), and how it's making you feel - in a non-confrontational way if at all possible Also, I will kick him for you when you get here
  5. Wow, some of you ladies really cleaned up this year! (both Melissa's) I had a really hard time getting motivated to do anything Christmas this year - kinda sucks being in an apartment in a new city, away from all the fam & friends. DH got me a TomTom GPS which I totally needed - he's so smart A new pair of Uggs & a spa gift certificate.
  6. Lovely pics! I really like the last two from far away - the water is so gorgeous!!
  7. Oh Kate!! I'm so glad I popped in just now, I've been SOOO curious how everything went for you. I wasn't able to devour every detail, but it sounds like you had a great, fun time which I know you wanted. YAY!!! Congrats. Soon we must have a celebratory beverage, yes?
  8. Maura, I booked Bradley for 4 hours, and it was plenty. Although, we did not have the travel time, so perhaps you should account for that and up it to 5?
  9. Awwww, Laura, your dress is lovely!! You have that "eek, I'm excited, I'm a bride" look on your face. Brings back memories Congrats!!!
  10. As an update - I did do this, and it was very special. Both mom's loved it. The only tricky thing is sticking the 2 flowers you will give them to your bouquet securely enough so you don't drop them, but not so securely that you can't get them off when you need them!! I had a bit of a technical difficulty getting the flower out for my new MIL...but that was at the end of the ceremony, so I don't know that anyone really noticed.
  11. OMG you guys, I've been married since March & haven't done anything. I printed out the SS form like twice and there was a question on there that I couldn't answer...I don't remember what it was now. Plus, with our move I figured doing the DMV thing was stupid, cuz I'd have to do it all over again. Well now look at me, I'm still my maiden name self masquerading as a married woman, using my husbands name when I can, but there is no legal requirement. DRRRR!
  12. Welcome, welcome! Yes, def be wary of Weddings in Paradise - some not so good experiences have been reported. I think a wedding at the Finisterra would be a great idea!! Check out this review: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2636

D I T T O !!! I love you Ann, you are so subtle Man, that MIL sounds a little high maintenance. Maybe you just need to get her a prescription for some Xanax & then she'll get on whatever plane you tell here too!
  15. what a fun bunch of pics! I love the pre wedding photos in town, very cool.
  16. Welcome to the forum! The good news is you know the answers to the key questions in deciding on a location & venue...good start!! There is tons of info on this website for you to devour. You may want to think about Dreams in Los Cabos - I see you are in Oakland, so a quick flight for you. Tons of girls on this site have gotten married there & had very happy guests. Good luck!
  17. Welcome in Faith! Who is your WC? What size wedding are you looking to have? I got married at Cabo Surf Hotel & absolutely adore that place. It is a great location for small to medium weddings (like no more than 75 ppl).

  19. OK, that reading you posted gave me total goose bumps! Love it
  20. You will be fine. I remember having a freak out when we decided to get married. With in days of announcing our engagement I had people asking me "so, what are you colors?" WHAT? Are you friggin high? I just got engaged!! I think there is this invisible bridal pressure that hits all of us when we realize we are planning a wedding, and we've never done that before!
  21. Oh Catherine, you are so cute! First of all, are these things you need to deal with RIGHT NOW? Colors & flowers & stuff? When she asks you what you envision for your wedding day, maybe you should just tell her what you said above - "standing on the beach with a setting sun saying I DO to the man of my dreams." That's a great start! For the most part, things like flowers can be choosen much later than 10 months out from your wedding date. Breathe! Be calm. One step at a time. You've got your venue, your dress & a photog, right? Those are the big deal things in my opinion.
  22. Yeah, what about Andrew?? He moved into his own place in the ghetto... And the new neighbor lady is totally up to something - what is her name anyway??
