My Random, Funny New Years... *updated with pics*
A10CalGal replied to MsShelley's topic in Just venting or funnies
oh you should definitely post pics! What a random bunch of stuff. What happened with the girl with the superglue problem? How does that even happen. -
Ummm yeah, I was just going to say "thanks Jami!" It was the half price comment that mostly kills me.
-
What a fun day for your birthday! Basically the whole world celebrates for you! Don't you feel special?
-
I practiced so much with the cranberry infusion that I'm out of vodka!!
-
Melissa, Yep, we've gone down all of those roads - with the flea treament & food. She's just basically stressed I think. I just want to know what she needs right now to not be so stressed.
-
I'll admitt, I felt a little whacky when I explained to my hubby & step son about this. My hubby was like "hey, whatever you have to do." step son looked at me like i'm completely nuts. I have high hopes though!

Makeup Application?
A10CalGal replied to jmhein's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I hired professionals! They came to my hotel room & did both hair and makeup. In my opinion, it's definitely worth it, especially in the heat/humidity. Add tears to that and anything I would have done on my own would have been destroyed. The pros have magic makeup that stays! -
What a precious puppy!!

I love #3. And for what it's worth, I would say you should stick with one logo for everything. You are basically branding your wedding, so you want to have the logo as a common recognizable theme IMO.

Wow Jill, I totally missed this. What a great, detail oriented review! And, dang, what an awesome wedding you had! You attention to detail regarding your guests is amazing. Clearly you spent a lot of money bringing your photog, videographer & planner in from out of town....sounds like it was totally worth it for you. I loved your colors and your ideas (after reception lounge! dessert cart, after dancing snacks, you rock!). And I couldn't agree with you more on the tips section - especially regarding buying beer & water. Seriously, beer is water in Mexico. You only really drink water when you go to bed at night & when you wake up. And it's all so cheap, save yourself multiple drives to the Mega & just buy a crap load of beer. congrats on a beautiful & well thought out wedding. Thanks for sharing all the details

should i buy these shoes??
A10CalGal replied to cessyboston's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm always an advocate for buying a great pair of shoes. HOWEVER...the jewels catching on the dress is a big concern...for sure. Also, do you plan to wear these for the ceremony? I can't rembember if you are having a beach ceremony or not. From personal experience, and maybe I'm just a hippie, but I ended up out of my shoes pretty much immediately. Except for when I went to the bathroom. My foot skin just hurt so much from walking up & down the beach for pictures, I could barely stand to have anything on my feet. -
OMG Amy! I just watched you slideshow on Elizabeth's site. AMAZING!! I love, love, love the following: 1. Bridesmaid dresses - simple, elegant, chic 2. The awesome lighting in all of the bride & groom pics 3. Your table details 4. The pics with the donkey!! Love it! 5. Was one of the groomsmen giving a speech read from a piece of paper w/holes in it??!! LOL! 6. The tequila shot pics - no better way to get an range of facial expressions from people. 7. THE OBVIOUS LOVE & EMOTION BETWEEN YOU & YOUR HUBBY!! As well as the family - your dad's expressions made me cry. Congrats on a beautiful wedding. YOu are so blessed girl!! OK, off to check out the other pics Edit: TTD photos - girrrrl!!! Super hot. You look awesome. What fun.

I bought the cranberry infusion flavor yesterday - wanted pomegranate, but they didn't have it. Ummm, so basically it just makes the drink so yummy that by the time you sit down with one it's time to get up & make another. DANGEROUS!!

Needing Powerpoint help
A10CalGal replied to MsShelley's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
What if you modify your page properties? check the margins & open them up -
Thanks you guys for making me feel better. It's nice to know I am not alone in my madness...not that I want any of you ladies to be in cramped quarters...but you know, misery loves company. Maria - wow, I totally had no idea. 1 bed/1 bath & Audrey on the weekends...you have me beat. Diana - seriously, drinking is the norm since we've been here. Don't even need encouragement. But you are right, I should do something for myself. I need to find a yoga class or something. Tammy - omg how frustrating! You must want to kick your renters out like yesterday. Thanks for making me see I'm not alone. And yes, the serenity prayer is awesome, even if you aren't in AA Catherine - wanna come & clean at our house? Actually, we're pretty clean, just cramped & cluttered. UGH. I love you guys!

WTF- in an apartment! OK, that's just cruel! Doesn't make me feel better, but it makes me laugh! And I love your description "packed in nice & firm" - oh girl, you don't even know. Even my car port is pulling double duty with a motorcycle in the front & then my car. I haven't knocked the bike over yet, but I'm willing to be it's only a matter of time. IT's just this compressed space. It magnifies everything.

OMG Martha, there is NO WAY the litter box would fit in either of the restrooms. That's how small this place is! It's best where it is at this point. And it has a cover, so it's like a house. Can't drop laundry in it. The one an only time I've ever lived in an apartment was in college. Back then it was cool. Now, not so cool. **The bathroom is great too. It has this three door medicine cabinet as the mirror. Every time you touch one single thing in there, everything on the shelf falls over like dominos. It is awesome!

I've seen this one. Pure craziness. The title of your post is perfect for the pic!

Can't decide on the shoes
A10CalGal replied to Sharonie's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Yep, you've gotta get both pairs. I love them both. One for the ceremony & one for the reception. Aren't we wonderful enablers?? -
Date/time: Saturday 12/29/2007 - 4:00 pm. Event: Minor psychotic break. Details: I hate apartment living. I hate clutter. I hate living with f-d up furniture. I hate that I can't open the fridge door without running into the laundry room door that we have to leave open because that's where the cat box is. I hate trying to do laundry around the cat box. I hate that my husband doesn't have the ability to fold bed sheets on his own, so the ones that got washed last weekend have been sitting in a crumpled wrinkled pile on the floor on his side of the bed. Seriously?? I can fold sheets by myself, why can't he?? I just walked in the door with groceries, put them on the "dining room" table right next to the kitchen. In comes hubby going thru all the groceries & spreading them all over the place. I kinda snapped at him & said "I'm not ready for that yet, I have to reorganize the fridge & the cupboard so there's room." Then I was trying to pull my laundry out of the dryer & kept tripping over the cat box while hubby & step son stood & watched me. I just feel a little flipped out right now. I can't do shit without them being on top of me. And the cat's meowing and the dog is barking. OMG!!! I totally know this is just temporary & nobody is trying to make me crazy. We've been in this apartment for 4 months now, and probably have at least 4 more to go. I just can't stand it. I mean, we have so little room in our stupid kitchen that we have to store pasta, napkins and crackers in the damn china cabinet! And don't even get me started on the pathetic coat closet that isn't even deep enough to hang an empty hanger in. Or the rediculous cabinet over the refrigerator that you can't get to. Or the lame washer & dryer that we have to use because we aren't allowed to bring in our own appliances - bullshit things are ruining all my clothes. How about the damn king size bed blanket of Richards that he decided he didn't want in his room that's been sitting on the dining room floor for the past month? I just went & crammed it back into his closet. Oh yes, and the fact that the dog & cat food/water is on the fireplace hearth. And the box of DVD's stored on the floor next to the fireplace. And the rediculously gigantic coffee table we have that Richard burned about 50 holes in by burning my incense directly on it. And the 15 fricking piles of miscellaneous computer CD's laying ALL OVER THE HOUSE! I'm completely over this. It sucks. OK, it's all out now. Feeling better. I wonder if my husband & Richard will ever come back from their trip to Target?

I just scheduled an appointment for next Sunday morning. It's $48 for 35 minutes. Now I'm scared my cat is going to tell her "I don't like it when my mommy screams obscenities at me." Eeek. Or maybe it will be "I hate the dog." I will definitely keep you all posted on this one!

My travel mugs are done!

Those are great! People will totally use those well after the wedding.
