  1. Stephanie, I'm sooooo excited for you! I did the same thing as you, tried to find something more simple, less expensive, yadda yadda...but came back to that first one that gave me the tingles! YOu won't regret it. It's kinda like finding your soulmate - you just "know" )
  2. Sorry you even have to experience these feelings Stephanie. It seems a bit early for him to be making all these declarations. I hope he ends up going after all & has a blast. I have a somewhat similar situation. My parents got divorced when I was like 5 and my real father died several years ago. I've never really had a father per-se, which is sad in all kinds of ways for me, but something I've gotten past. My mom has a "new" husband now -they've been together for over 10 years & finally married last year. ANyway, I really wanted him to walk me down the aisle, but at this point I don't even think he will be there. He & my mom are in this huge conflict over life issues and they basically aren't speaking (for over 2 months now). That situation in itself stresses me out because I want my mom to be happy. It just sucks. But I realize it's not about me, and that helps. The moral of my long ass story is, you can't control other people & their issues, but you can realize that it has absolutely nothing to do with you - it's their "stuff."

    I'm New!

Welcome Amanda! That's so great that you are taking the time to do a site visit to chose the perfect place for you. You will love Cabo if you've never been. Look forward to hearing your report after your trip - have fun!
  4. I know, I don't get it! Did we start at zero status once we transferred to this forum? I had a bucket load of posts on the old board...but now I'm just a "noob." Does this mean I can't access the private folders??
  5. Kashmira, I know I'm chiming in a bit late, but I just wanted to "ditto" what Janet said about getting free postcards from vistaprint.com as your STD's. I used the same stock photo as Janet! I was extremely happy with ours, and I got a lot of comments on them. I get free offers like everyother day, so you should def be able to get yours for shipping only. Good luck!
  6. I did not state anything on our STD's, but I did indicate the attire to be "beachy chic" on our wedding website. I went on to say what that means dressy casual. I know, it's tough! Honestly, the only person I am really worried about under dressing is my mom...we've already discussed that I have the power of veto over her outfit
  7. Welcome Kristina! Congrats on your engagement & plans to wed in Cabo. You've got plenty of time & a great resource in this site...you will have a great wedding!!
  8. Maria Elena, I was just thinking the same thing this morning! I had a dream last night that my dress was all wrinkled and I got chocolate or something on it!!?? I believe that your hotel concierge should be able to assist with that; or perhaps your coordinator (if you have one) can make arrangements. Christa Cabo Surf Hotel 3.17.07
  9. Dress update: OK, so I placed my order last weekend for THE DRESS! I went back to the salon, tried it on again, and then put down the 50% deposit. EEEK! Just had to share. Christa Cabo Surf Hotel 3.17.07
  10. Haha! Small world, huh? Yes, I've asked her to send me some pics. She owns a high end salon, she sent me the web address for it, and she seems really knowledgeable...it's just my comfort level, ya know? We'll see how it pans out. $1400 or $2200, I'm getting that damn dress! Thanks for posting Tammy! Christa Cabo Surf Hotel Feb/Mar 2007
  11. Unfortunately I'm in Monterey, CA & this dress in in Scottsdale, AZ. The only people I know anywhere near there are my fiances teenage sons...so I don't think their qualified I think I may end up paying the full retail for my own peace of mind. Christa Cabo Beach Hotel Feb/Mar 2007
  12. Thanks You know, it really isn't that heavy...and it's made of silk, so the breathability factor should be high. Also, the heat won't be as intense in Feb/March. Go ahead, throw anything at me, I can rationalize it! So, here's another dilema...the dress is approx $2200 and takes 4-6 months to be made, which is fine. However, I have found the exact dress, in my size for way less - $1400 on preownedweddingdresses.com. I've been corresponding with the seller (obviously I'm apprehensive) and she owns a bridal boutique in Arizona. She ordered several Alfred Sung dresses for her shop, and when she received them she decided they did not fit with the "feel" of her shop. So this dress has never been worn, is not altered, is not a sample. I am really tempted to take advantage of this & save $800, but I would just die if something bad happened. Thoughts? 13. OK ladies, here is what I think is my dress. I have been looking at every dress under the sun online & finally went to try some on yesterday. As much as I loved the pics of this dress I was prepared for it to look awful on me. Well, it looked fricking AWESOME!!! I love it so much. I do not love the pricetag, but I'm prepared to get over that. The color is actuallly warmer than it looks in the pic - its called "natural" and it looks awesome w/my skin tone. What do you guys think? Is this too much for a beach wedding? I kind of think I should wear whatever the heck I want to, as long as I feel super special. Right?? Christa
