I've used a few different ones, and overall they create a smooth(er) surface for makeup application & keeps your makeup looking fresher longer. It's also a nice alternative if you don't like to use foundation - just smooth on the primer & dust with a little powder. I think it would be a good product for Cabo brides - especially summer brides. The heat could definitely melt your face off! My favorite that I've tried is ColorScience Line Tamer. It has all kinds of botanical stuff in it and it's really calming for my sometimes irritates skin.

I love the cupcake idea.

After much searching, reviewing, thinking about DIY-ing, I have had a revelation! One of my cousins is a fantastically creative & eclectic artist, I'm going to ask her to design my invites! I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. She designed the invites for my grandmothers 80th bday & they were so awesome that I kept the invite & all the little enclosures. So, I'll post when she gives me some sketches!

Welcome to the board Lauren. Take a browse around all the posts - it will help you get aquainted with the various venues we are all using. When it comes to golfing in Cabo, any of the corridor hotels are going to give you easy access to some great golfing - there are several top notch courses in this particular area.

Good morning ladies! Well, I did pretty good yesterday... Excercise: 2.5 mile power walk in the am; squats & lunges in the bathroom while getting ready (hey, I'm a multi-tasker!) Breakfast: Kashi Go Lean cereal w/soy milk & peach slices; coffee w/soymilk & splenda. Lunch: Leftover grilled pork chop w/small portion of mashed potatoes (bad!) and peas. Dinner: Grilled chicken breast & big green salad w/tomatoes & bell peppers, small serving steamed rice. NO WINE!!! I had sparkling water instead. It was hard.

I worked out just as hard as I did in my 20s and kept gaining weight. Following my FI's eating habits didn't help either. Seems like everybody, no matter what shape or size, is almost on the same boat huh? It hurts for me to say wine & the word "extra" in the same sentence! I am a wine lover thru & thru. You are so right though Karla, each 6 oz glass of wine has at least 100 calories. And in all honesty, I don't pour 6 oz glasses...I should give it up for a week & see what happens. Yes, the 30's have hit me hard. This is embarassing to admitt, but I will. My best friend & I just had a little pants swap...I gave her my 8's and 10's and she gave me her 12's. She's in the middle of getting a divorce. We call my diet the happiness diet & her's the divorce diet.

KarlaV KarlaV - I've not used the contraption thingy, but I've had awesome results in the past with just a mat class (hmmm, maybe I should get back to that). So I would imagine that the pilates machine would do that much more for you.

I know it's psychological because I feel not so thin one day (I know crazy, bear with me here), I have a good workout and I swear I "look" better in the mirror the very next day... or sometimes that very same night! You know I'm not losing any weight in that short period of time!! Karla - I totally know what you mean! I have fat days where I can't stand myself. Then I have an awesome work out & I feel so much better, thereby I look better to myself in the mirror - and like you say, I'm sure I didn't lose any weight or anything. It's totally endorphin related - and so psychological.

Great idea Tammy. This morning I "power-walked" 2.5 miles in about 30 minutes. I really like to run, but I get horrible shin splints, so I've compromised to maintain some sort of consistency. I try to do it 3-4 days/week. I need to step it up though, need to start some weight training. This will motivate me.

Very little alcohol, but the sweets are definitely a problem! I was doing NO exercise (except horseback riding once weekly) until about a month ago when I started Body for life. I lost about 3 lbs right away, then gained 4 back, even though I was doing all the dieting and weight training like I should. Do you think it could be just gaining muscle weight? So, then we went on vacation and I kinda fell off the wagon and need to get started again. Hey Sarah, I'm jumping in late here, but I wanted to offer my insight. First, Karla & Janet definitely hit on all the major concepts that are important - so ditto everthing they said. Regarding the body for life program - that is a great program. I did the program formally several years ago & was pleased with the results. One thing about that program though is that you are supposed to eat 6 small meals per day which can be a challenge. I found that when I wasn't able to do that I started to plateau. So make sure you are eating all meals! I'm sure you've read the book...listen to what he says! Also, it is quite possible you are gaining muscle weight, so don't freak out. I like to measure my success by how my clothes fit, not by what the scale says. Ever since I hit the big 30 I swear my metabolism took a nose dive. It is no longer as simple as adding extra cardio to melt off unwanted flab. I have to do the extra cardio just to stay where I am now. It sucks - it used to be so easy. Like Karla said, it really is a whole lifestyle change. If you transition healthfully into this new lifestyle you will probably feel a lot better than you ever did, and it will be easy to stick to what makes you feel good. **Thanks to this thread, I have just realized that my habit of having a few glasses of wine every night is probably why I seem to be stuck right now. Booo! I like to balance health & enjoyment, but I want to look smokin' on my wedding day

OK, so I used a different pic of myself, and I get totally different look-a-likes, inlcuding a man!

Oh totally, I'm doing my fiance as we speak! I'm meeting him at 4:30 to go to his son's football game & I'm bringing a print out of it with me. I'm a total geek as well.

Great song list MariaElena! I love Diana Krall - she's definitely going to be part of our dinner music. -

Ok, ok, I get it. I'm pretty sure I've seen that at weddings before & never really considered how the picture came to be. I would have such a hard time not sharing with my FI! Heck, I'm having a hard time not showing him my dress.

I've put my honey in charge of creating our playlists. I haven't asked for a status lately, but I actually think he'll do a great job. I'll just have to inject some current music in I'm sure. I'll see if I can get him to give me his list so far & I'll post. **Last night he was working on putting together a slide show from all the pics he took at his recent high school reunion. He's getting really good at it! I was impressed - music, transitions, captions. He wants to buy some upgraded software so he do an even better job w/our wedding pics. I'm stoked! -
