    Newbie!

don't panic about your 150 - that is how many we invited. people talked big until it came time to buy the tix and now we only have 70ish coming!
  4. I find it too hard to make the pics small enough to upload and i am technologically challenged with the other method so here is a link to see my dress http://album.aufeminin.com/album/see...vias-2006.html it is all ivory silk chiffon with silver art deco style beading. it goes with the vintage art deco ring my honey bought for me AND I am for sure going to slather myself in baby oil just like the model!!! my ladies are wearing a black chiffon dress found here: http://www.jasminebridal.com/html/we...to1.asp?id=144 12/18/08 - LINK NO LONGER VALID And by the way AKH - I tried that dress on and it is beautiful! not at all too much for the beach! i bought my dress in june and am STILL obsessed with bridal fashion

  7. I am looking into buying a huge quantity (like $3000) for my welcome dinner at Puerta Vieja. Just wondering if anyone has used them?? It seems too good to be true.
  8. finisterra only does one per day... I went to one in riviera maya where it was like a cattle call every hour and it really bothered me because it was so impersonal!
  9. When i started working with my hotel about 4 months ago, i had a hard time getting a hold of the coordinator at first too...i agree with the girls they start to be much more responsive once it gets closer. However, you want to make sure they get the basics nailed down early like the judge or minister, and photographer so that they are not booked. Other than that, the rest can probably wait so I wouldn't stress too much!
  10. i would try norman diego's mexican inn or los milagros, both of which are under $100 and really cute. check them out on tripadvisor, they are well rated. if they want to pay a bit more, like $150, my favorite place in the bungalows. these are all much more like a bed and breakfast than a resort but they are awesome
  11. i love the first one but it looks a but heavy for the beach. the second on eis really cute too. However, since you don't know for sure - I don't think you have found the one yet!! AS soon as you put one on that makes you think of yourself standing on the beach with a little ocean breeze, you will know it is right.
  12. Oh my gosh, you are so funny! my fiance' and his mother and I had a HUGE "discussion" about this very thing!!! It is the only major issue we have had so far! I really wanted to do a simple postcard, and they really wanted a full invite. At 7 months out, we ended up sending a greeting card style invite. It had a pic of us on the front cover from when we got engaged in Cabo, with the sunset behind us. When you opened it up, it had a brief informal invite that referred people to our website. I can send you the template if you want. Our guests LOVED it!! Everyone has it on their fridge. And then the people who aren't coming can still post something to your guestbook or find out where your registry is. The only problem is that a bunch of people we didn't expect surprised us and decided to come. Good luck!
  13. of course you can get married to the same person twice!!! i know a couple who gets married every time they go on a trip somewhere. they find out the requirements ahead of time and just do it while they are there. it is like a fun little tradition for them!
  14. We are inviting everyone too. It is expensive but man I just didn't know where to draw the line. People are traveling so far! Anyway, we priced out cocktails and apps at various places and ended up going with a full dinner b/c we got a great deal!! Most places charge by the hour for drinks and it could be $15-20 pp/ph so you might as well pay for dinner. Here's the link: www.puertavieja.com They have the most amazing view and will rent you the whole second floor overlooking the bay for no charge. We got engaged there and it is so beautiful at sunset!!! Our dinner is $35 pp with a choice of lobster, steak of fish and includes soup or salad and dessert. We even got them to add an appetizer of coconut shrimp for that price. Drinks are by consumption and we are just going to tell people the first round is on us and the rest is cash bar. Let me know if you want more info!
  15. We are having our at Hotel Finisterra (not an AI), and our room block rate is $195/night+ tax and service charge for the new part of the hotel - Ocean View Palapa Suites (you don't want your guests staying in the older original part). I checked everywhere that could accomodate at least 70 and they were hands down the least expensive for our guests and pretty reasonable for us too. With 20 rooms booked, they give you an upgrade to the ultra suite or a free regular suite. They are not 5 star, but their beach is absolutely breathtaking for the ceremony and they are also right in Cabo so it is easy to get around. They do not work with outside coordinators, but their in-house person has been really good so far.... Let me know if you want more info!
  16. wow, you guys are fast! thanks so much!
