my wedding was in march, so in February 9 girlfriends and I did a ski weekend. it was a BLAST!!!! there are plenty of non-club activities out there.

yes register so that you don't get duplicates, and you actually get things that you want. No, don't include any mention of your registry in your email. On the website is okay. Word of mouth is best. Jen is right - people will ask you or your family, or will look it up. have fun registering!

We love the vouchers too! when we were down there for the wedding we had several great meals

I did not use Juan, but just for comparison's sake we had guys golfing - approx 1-1.5 hrs coverage rehearsal dinner (on the boat) approx 2.5 hrs coverage wedding day - appox 7 hrs coverage. this was definitely adequate for what we wanted. we have more photos than we know what to do with! however, if we had an unlimited budget, i would have loved to include our welcome dinner, and people hanging by the pool. we decided the week before the wedding to forego the TTD (we were going to do more of a "we did" jessica claire style shoot) and shoot the guys golfing. This was a great decision for us because we had so many shots from the wedding I'm not quite sure what we would have done with more. Also, I got pretty wet after the wedding running in the surf. anyhow HTH! good luck. Edited to add - this was with 2 photographers at all of the events. If Juan doesn't have a second shooter, obviously that is going to weigh in on your decision

Congrats! We went to costco and bought a bunch of food for our rooms. Bagels, etc. No one really ate that stuff to be honest. Everyone liked the hotel food better We did OOT bags with tons of snacks from Costco. If you're doing a 3-day trip like a lot of brides (and we did), I wouldn't worry that much about there only being one restaurant. The food at the Seven Seas is really great. I didn't get sick of it at all. Like Janet, I would also advise your guests to rent cars. There are a lot of great restaurants locally and they're probably going to want to get out. Zippers is pretty close and was good. But considering that people will prob arrive on Thurs, with some food & drink provided, and meals provided Friday and Saturday I would definitely not be that concerned about providing anything more. We had 2 events in downtown, but did not worry about transportation for our guests. The hotel can arrange large van cabs. Most of our guests just jumped in those together. I don't think that it was more than $10 each to use these cabs and they fit about 10 people. Other people drove themselves. hope that helps, and congrats

we did our legal ceremony at home and had my FIL marry us down there. my husband is Catholic and at one point felt very strongly about the church, but the more that we discussed it the more that we both came to the conclusion that we would be getting married in the church more for his mom than anything - neither of us attend regularly at this point. we may have our marriage blessed in the future but at this point it is not a priority. I will say that if you are open to doing so, doing the legal cermony in the US sure seems a whole lot easier than in cabo.

I did blues & greens I think that accent colors largely depend on the color of blue that you go for.

how about pineapple mojitos? just do a regular mojito and muddle in some pineapple with the sugar and mint. you can serve it with a fresh stick of sugar cane. delicious, perfect for summer, and very chic. (and moderately inexpensive since it does not require top-shelf liquor) blue drinks scare me!

We stayed at Napa Bed & Breakfast Inn Napa Valley CA -- Candlelight Inn Bed and Breakfast -- Luxury Wine Country Lodging it was awesome. my favorite wineries are Vincent Arroyo, Schramsberg, and Del Dotto. have fun

my friend insisted on doing a photo mat, so we had that and the polariod book. the polaroid book was a hoot!~ i recommend!

I recommend using Dominic for your car rental. If you search for his name on the forum there is a lot of info.

Tammy - I wouldn't upgrade your stone size if it's not going to make a difference in the appearance of the diamond size. If you are looking to change stone shape I would suggest looking into a cushion cut diamond which is what I have. they're more brilliant than step-cut diamonds and they don't need as much depth in order to be correctly cut so you get a larger diamond surface = bigger looking stone. They're also a little less common which is why I am guessing that you went with the emerald to begin with. I love emeralds (and asschers - they're my favorite!) but you really need a super high quality diamond if you're going with that shape so that you don't see any inclusions. here are my rings I like the idea of getting another band. I often just wear my wedding band these days but hope in the future to get another, more substantial eternity band to wear as well

I prefer the blue, but would be concerned that the rhinestones could snag your dress. I would also be sure to bring a comfy pair of backup flip-flops!

that is awesome! my mom is also a huge lucy fan. Perhaps I should look into these for her? She loves Lucy SO much that she found someone who had purchased a bunch of the furniture from the Arnaz/Ball estate. Anyhow long story short she now owns a table that once belonged to Lucy.

they were a custom design, so the sample that you see on the site is actually my invitation - that was my color scheme but to answer your question, yes, Melina is great and will totally customize colors.
